Avatar f tn My mother currently taking nebivolol 5mg in morning and amlodipine/perindopril 5/8mg in evening for hypertension. Her blood pressure has recently been improved and taking both pills cause low blood pressure, she is also suffering from cough as a side effect from perindopril. I am considering to shift her to nebivolol only but 5 mg once a day is not controlling the blood pressure well. My question is can nebivolol be taken twice a day in 2.

Avatar m tn Thus, nebivolol is, with regard to hemodynamic and metabolic properties, similar to carvedilol, although the two act slightly differently — carvedilol is a non-cardioselective beta 1, beta 2, and alpha-receptor blocker, whereas nebivolol is highly cardioselective (blocking beta 1 receptors only) and achieving vasodilatory properties by nitric-oxide release, he added." Apparently is was just officially appvoved for use in the United States by the FDA.
Avatar n tn I also took Bystolic at the 2 and 1/2 mg level a few days and then quit slowly because my bp was too low on it and I felt dizzy.
Avatar m tn After my second ever episode of fast atrial fibrillation, resolved through electric shock, my cardiologist prescribed 100mg flecaine and 2.5mg nebivolol to be taken every day. This as a preventive measure. I have read on the medicine info notice that these two medicines should not be taken together. My cardiologist states that they are routinely prescribed together by cardiologists these days. I have never taken any heart drug, and feel a bit concerned. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Avatar m tn I used to take a slow-release Propranolol 80 mg every day, which caused severe tiredness and extreme fatigue, to the point that I was not able to think straight and sometimes could not even get out of bed. Apparently, Propranolol also inhibits the ability for you to burn fat, not to mention gastrointestinal issues. Depression is also significantly higher when taking Propranolol.
Avatar m tn My BP was well-controlled on 100 mg Losartin and 7.5 mg Amlodipine, averaging around 125/68. At peak exertion, during a treadmill stress test recently, my systolic BP reached 215. My cardiologist subbed 5 mg Nebivolol for the Amlodipine due to what he described as exercise-related hypertension. I took this medication for a week and experienced a range of unpleasant side effects, including exhaustion, significant depression and reduced heart rate (mid-60s, compared with my normal mid-80s).
899454 tn?1295583938 Medicines I take are Nebivolol (Bystolic) 5 mg daily and 4.5 mg Bromazepam 3 mg in the morning and 1.5 mg before bedtime. I remember in 2009 when I got those ectopics here and there I was so worried! I started taking magnesium, watching my diet and I made it till now with the ectopics here and there. On the anxiety front I wasn't doing so bad either. My last panic attack was in November 2014 while I was on vacation.
Avatar m tn BEAT-beat [pause] BEAT-beat [pause], and so on ... Now what I mean with this is: BEAT is more forceful one, comes after 1.5 seconds pause; beat is very light and quick one, comes right after BEAT in 0.5 seconds. The rhythm continues until I start moving around (to increase the heart rate). I'm on Nebilet (Nebivolol) for slightly elevated blood pressure. I'm 24 years old male.
705966 tn?1239408751 The main reason is that they tend to increase Blood Glucose, and might provoke diabetes. Nebivolol does not increase BG, btw. But carvedilol does. Nebivolol though is quite expensive, and might not be on a formulary. Atenolol is inexpensive. There is also a new drug called ivabradine that gives pure control of heart rate without being a beta blocker. You also might think about changing the timing of your medication.
Avatar m tn Im 17 and doctors say i have hypertension, which i start to panic when someone checks my bp with heart rate monitor. I am currently drinking nebivolol and i want to know if this medicine will stunt growth?
Avatar f tn I got sick a few years ago and it wekened my heart. I take Coreg(Carvedilol) and Lisinopril. I still want children very badly and was told that basically, there were meds that I can take instead of Lisinopril, but I would have to stop taking Coreg. Of course, I would just have to see how I would do without Coreg... Are there any alternatives to Coreg?
Avatar n tn I had a MI last October 2012. Since than I am on medication and there are no major problems. Only problem is I get tired easily and at times feel there in no strength in the body. Recently I have undergone 2-D Echocardiography. The impression of the report is as under: 1. Bi-Ventricular Systolic Function Adequate. 2. No Diastolic Dysfunction. 3. Inferior Wall Hypokinesia noted at Rest. 4. LVEF= 61% What does this suggest ? Is there anything to worry about? What further test required?
Avatar f tn My doctor increased my dose a few months ago (I take 15 mg twice a day) and I feel like sometimes my heart palpitates and night. The palpitations are waking me up some nights. My BP also seems to be spiking on and off the last couple months. I'm wondering if it related to the Buspirone or something else? I also started taking the generic BP medication (Nebivolol) of Bystolic, because my insurance didn't want to cover the name brand last time I filled it.
Avatar f tn I try being on a diet but know i am taking Crestor 20mg for triglicerides, and nebivolol 5mg for my bp. I have had some cases of high heart beat and doctors said its nothing to worry about. I had onew 12 years ago, 1one 8 years ago and one 2 yeears ago. They come and go within 10 minutes. Its something with my electrical paths of my heart but doctors said there is no need to worry for now.My docotr said that high bp is due to my sensitive character, and tryglicerides is gentics.
899454 tn?1295583938 In may 2009 I was diagnosed with mild mitral valve prolapse with mild regurgitation. Before I was diagnosed I suffered from tachycardia and sometimes PVC’s (once a month). My resting heart rate was around 80/90 bpm and when I was anxious above 120. The cardiologist put me on Bystolic (nebivolol) 2.5 mg a day. The med lowered my blood pressure (120/75) and lowered my heart rate (50+ bpm). I am in a way very pleased with the med. I another way I am now more aware of my PVC’s.
Avatar m tn Hi Flycaster, Thanks for the reply - I'm female, taking Nebilet, which I think is called Nebivolol in the US? I spoke to a doctor and I'll get a blood test re the bruises, but she thinks it's unrelated to my cardiac history....? I am getting a catheter shunt first to treat the PDA to prevent heart failure, and then a catheter ablation on the Focal Atrial Tachycardia, which apparently has a very low success rate, but fingers crossed I'll be in that small percentile!
Avatar f tn Its the second day i am using nebivolol and my BP is really normal and constant 120/80.I doesnt change through the day.But my heart rate has decreased from 90-98 to 63-70 bpm.Is it ok?I feel fine may be a little not energitised. Is it ok if i take 5 mg *(half the dosage) until i meet my doctor on twensday?
Avatar f tn Anyway i still had symptoms. I went to another cardilogist and he gave me nebivolol(beta blocker) because i had some tachycardia that usually occurs once in 4 or 5 five years but i have seen a lot of docotrs and they told me its not dangerous. Its something with electrical pathways but since it lasts 3 to 5 minutes i never had a chance to properly get in time at hospital to find what was happening. I ended up using 1/4(20mg) of Miccardis plus dossage and 1/4(1.
Avatar f tn Following first VT attack in 2003, was hospitalized and all tests fine. vT was sustained and converted to Normal sinus after cardio version in UK. Went for catherter ablation but doctor in uk failed to induce arrythmia so no ablation could be done. Was put on atenolol for a while but kept getting PVCs over and again. 4 other sustained VT attacks followed in the next 5 years. All the time it would convert back to sinus normal after heart beating for over an hour at 240bpm.
715004 tn?1309077280 I started getting chest pains a few months ago when I was under bit of stress. I had an upper GI series and it was negative for GERD. I was given nitroglycerin to see if that would help the chest pains. It did. Now, I was just put on a beta blocker, nebivolol (or something like that) for a rapid heart rate, and a high BP reading at the time. My BP is usually fine. I had an echocardiogram and everything was fine. Here's the confusion...
Avatar f tn Hello, I was recently in hospital for initiation of new drugs for my inappropriate sinus tachycardia. The drugs (Ivabradine and Nebivolol) were successful while I was in hospital but since coming home I've been having complications.
Avatar f tn The heart doctor I agree his nurse has not called me back until today and i started trying to get ahold of him on Monday and she finally called back today and said that she called me yesterday which she did not which bothers me. I was here all day and no messages. But she said that i had to many questions and needed to write them down and she would have Dr. Tummula is his name in Olathe Kansas call me back and he never did.
