Avatar n tn You can get iron from beets and dark green vegetables, especially parsley, but iron probably wouldn't affect your hair as much as your energy level, so you'd know if you were iron deficient. The most likely elements missing with hair would be silica and protein, but that would usually show by losing hair, not it becoming limp and greasy. You can try buying a hair and skin supplement -- it's a multivitamin for hair and skin. Ultra Hair by Nature's Plus is a good one.
508364 tn?1210812146 Usually when we see a dog with allergies under 1 year of age it's usually food related. The only true way to tell is to do a strict! elimination diet byt putting the dog on a limited protein source food like Nature's recipe venison/potato, fish/pot or vegetarian formula. Then they are fed this food exclusively for about 8-10 weeks to get a true sense if the diet is working. During this time NO TREATS! Nothing but the food.

Avatar f tn There are some GREAT vegetarian recipe sites out there that will help you organize meals and supply yourself with the protein you DEFINITELY need. I personally love vegweb.com, even though I'm not a full-blown vegetarian. I really love a lot of their recipes! Also, try a product called Quorn as your meat substitute... I found it in the organic/health food section of my grocery store and you cook it straight from the freezer bag in the skillet.
172023 tn?1334672284 I had gotten down to my goal weight, and even exceeded my goal last year. Then, life happened. My back injury, subsequent surgery, and continued chronic pain and medications have derailed me a bit. I fell back into the old habits of self medicating...my drug of choice? Food. I've regained nearly 15 pounds. I pledge to begin on Monday morning (yes, I should begin today, but I'm not. Shoot me).
Avatar f tn never heard of it. i would assume it's some sort of vitamin regimen.... yes no?
Avatar f tn Hi, I have suffered with extremely oily acne prone skin since I was a teenager-I'm now 42. What I use in the evening is Serious Skin Care's glycolic cleanser with dry hands and dry face, rinse, and then follow cleansing with the Daily Ritual Cleanser also by Serious Skin care with a wet face and hands. After cleansing with both cleansers I apply Nature's Cure for Females 5% benzoyl peroxide to my entire face. I also take the Nature's Cure pills AM and PM.

746058 tn?1248344665 Unfortunately big dogs are expensive to buy and to maintain, certainly a big responsibility for anyone to consider before buying a giant breed. There are rescue groups who could help find your dog a home that can afford his care, please consider this before euthanasia. My recommendations for the yearly physical exam, bloodwork, fecal exam for parasites, antibiotics for the skin infection and hypoallergenic diet trial still stand.
Avatar f tn It is good that you are vegetarian as it is more healthy provided you are a non fat vegetarian (try to go to no cheese no oil). Just thought I would add that since I am vegan. I cook with water instead of oil. You can look up the site www.drmcdougall.com and he has a 10 days start diet that talks about a fat free vegan diet. But, it is harder to cut out the fat and cheese etc. It is a very very healthy diet. Read the what the people that have been on it say.
1201598 tn?1265473722 You are going to have to work a little harder to get that protein in but it can be done. Do your homework and study up on a vegetarian lifestyle. Some ways you can get protein is soy, nuts and beans. My teenage daughter wanted to be a vegetarian for a few years so I had to learn how to cook vegetarian. She's not doing it so much anymore but I still use soy, like the soy crumbles in soups or the firm tofu in veggie stir fries. She also likes the Boca burgers, which is a soy burger.
374652 tn?1494811435 Hi, I just wanted to post a simple recipe I made that seemed to last a few days and felt good. Brown Rice, steam or bake rice, drain tofu on paper towels to remove most of the water cut into 1/2" x 3" in size peices, and place in a fry pan w/ HOT coconut oil (just enough to wet the pan) let the tofu sizzle, for a few minutes, then turn, do not keep turning, add a sm.
93532 tn?1349370450 When I want a recipe I see I just copy and paste to MicroOffice. I can pass the recipe on as an attachement. I store these in a recipe briefcase.
1403867 tn?1281009744 So, I know that the common healthy weight loss goal is about 2lbs per week. Is there a different recommended weight loss goal per week for women with PCOS? Also, does anyone have any tips for how to deal with the emotional trip of not losing weight as fast as others/you would like?
