Common Questions and Answers about Natural hormone replacement men

hormone

Avatar f tn The thing is, these studies are on post menopausal women. I can see where taking a replacement hormone when your body should naturally not be making this hormone anymore could be bad and I wouldn't do it. But what about the people who were thrown into surgical menopause at a time their body would still be producing it?
Avatar m tn Furthermore, animal studies have shown that estrogens protect hepatocytes from oxidative damage, inhibit secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1, IL-6 and TNFα) and suppress hepatic fibrosis in mice.[9] Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) is potentially beneficial in decreasing fibrosis progression.[10] Moreover, the likelihood of sustained virological response (SVR) to interferon-based treatment is higher in pre-menopausal women than their post-menopausal counterparts and men.
Avatar f tn A couple of members here, including myself, watched Robin McGraw yesterday speak about bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. Did you know that women as young as their teens can have hormonal imbalances ? And that you can show signs of perimenopause in your 20s... feel horrible and be misdiagnosed with chronic fatigue or fibromyalgia ? And yet the medical field has failed us again on this other issue.
Avatar n tn Im reading a lot of advice against the use of hormone replacement therapy, but the studies I have researched report that its the combination of progesterone and estrogen that is bad for you, and that estrogen alone may actually decrease the risk of breast cancer. My question then is has anybody else read any studies similar?
Avatar m tn Considering you have heart problems now, it would probably be a good idea to go the way of the hormone replacement for the time being so you get the protection of the raised levels. After that you can figure out where you want to go with natural testosterone boosters. Hope that helps. Good luck.
Avatar m tn After watching this episode, I promptly made an appointment with my family doctor to discuss other HRT options. I stopped taking my Premarin, and upon my request for a safer or natural hormone, she prescribed estradiol .05 once a week patch, just recently (last week) added Prometrium, 200 mg. daily. My health/sanity issues have not changed.
1139187 tn?1355706647 i honestly would say get off that stuff and try natural progesterone( i am on it myself and libido has gone through the roof also energy levels have gone up too i had very low thyroid they tried to put me on hormone replacement i put myself onto natural progesterone and solved it. its only £17 in the uk and i think you can get it cheaper in the us. your body turns progesterone into testosterone.
Avatar f tn v recently read some information regarding traditional hypothyroidism which states that meds including synthroid and armour might be cancer-causing if used for life, and bio-identical thyroid hormone replacement is much safer for long-term use free of preservatives and binders and is all natural. It's actually a nutritional supplement not a med. What do you think?
Avatar m tn DHEA has properties of its own that benefit both men and women. Men maintain their highest levels of this hormone in their early 20s. By age 50 there is a 50% drop in DHEA, and by age 60 a man possesses only one-third the level he had as a young man. Aside from aiding in the production of testosterone and estrogen, DHEA acts as a neurohormone in the brain, protecting it from the effects of excitotoxicity and improving mood. DHEA also improves immune function and reduces abdominal (belly) fat.
1073454 tn?1317494199 It is almost two years since you posted your question. By now, you probably are doing very well. One thing that too many women have found out after a hysterectomy is the need for a bladder suspension a few years later. That is what happened to me, and others I know. I believe the surgeon should tell his patient about that possibility prior to doing a hysterectomy.
Avatar f tn The doc told me that if at least 1 ovary was left in, there would be no need for hormone replacement therapy. But I had cysts on both and lots of scar tissue. So leaving one in was not a option. The ovaries are where your hormones come from. If you have 1 or even both, and are not comfortable by now, you should probably talk to your doc. This could just be stress from worrying about there being something wrong. You you get to feeling better soon. God Bless!
Avatar f tn Hormone therapy is really not reccomended after batteling cancer,,,ask your Dr his opinion of a herbal called Black Kosch it is known to be good for hot flashes do NOT take it without his permission, I have no idea if it is safe for you or not.

Avatar m tn Will hormone replacement therapy help with the dibilitating chronic fatigue? Bruce in Calif.
Avatar f tn If you dont know if you have Hoshimoto, you need to find out. Supplements may support but not cure hoshis, you need thyroid replacement hormone meds for life. Although people on the 'natural herb' bandwagon jump all over natural dessicated thyroid (pig thyroid), in the end its a manufactured medicine. Works great for many (myself included), but its medicine. If you just have hypo symptoms due to a 'slow' thyoid, the causes can be many, and sometimes it does not last forever.
1319991 tn?1274357816 48yr old male on hormone replacement therapy for over 10yrs. Being seen for extreme fatigue, loss of concentration, recent ED issues. Blood test exceptions show higher RBC & higher Fe levels as well as low FreeT levels at end of injection cycle. Dr. is considering shortening time between injections from 10 to 7 days or raising dosage from 0.5cc to 0.7cc but concerned about a possible increase to RBC count.
