Natural anxiety relief vitamins

Common Questions and Answers about Natural anxiety relief vitamins

1348686 tn?1310657843 The natural treatment for anxiety is complicated -- not so simple as is often expressed. It usually will involve a combinations of remedies, not just one or two, until the proper formula is found for you.
Avatar f tn All that being said I am looking at natural ways to help cure/stop/prevent whatever the anxiety/panic attacks. I have gotten great suggestions about breathing techniques that I have started to do but I am wondering if I should be taking a vitamin or herb that will help along with the breathing. I am taking a prenatal vitamin daily (i had a baby 7 months ago) so that is the only vitamin I am on currently.
1244180 tn?1325902711 Tachycardia is often times caused by anxiety. What you describe sounds to me like a panic attack. Anxiety can be caused by hormones after birth. It can also be caused by a few health conditions such as thyroid problems. I would talk to your dr. You can always call and make a "yearly check up" and bring it up then. Or you could talk to your OB about it.
Avatar f tn So I can't sleep… and just wondering if anyones ever tried any natural remedies and has suceeded? I'm so against meds and really don't want to take them… oils or anything else anyone? Thank you!
Avatar m tn Hi, I have been feeling a surge of anxiety/panic for the last few days. It is so bad that I shake almost constantly, can't sleep, and feel extremely cold. I virtually have no appetite. Also, I constantly feel like throwing up, I gag, but so far have not actually vomited. This type of episode happened about a month ago, but I thought it might have been a reaction to anti-biotics I was taking at the time.
Avatar f tn And still felt bad up to 14 days later. You should definitely drink lots of water and juices. Make a lot of b and c vitamins. Lots of hot baths and some Ibuprofen. That was what I did when I went cold turkey 34 days ago. Sorry I couldn't be more help. Keep posting there are lots of people here that have done what you are wanting to do. In the long run you will make it. It will suck real bad but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
5973125 tn?1378579463 If it is essentially a non medical reason (although anxiety depending on its depth could be a medical problem), then a natural solution might be available. However, you would need to be more specific about the cause of the problem to get help. If he does not have ADHD or ADD, then I certainly agree with you about not taking Adderall! However, if he does have ADHD or ADD, then there is no proven natural medicine that would help.
Avatar m tn 5-HTP is the body's natural way of making serotonin, but serotonin might not be the answer to GAD. Everyone's different. The natural treatment for GAD would be to combine amino acids and herbs and vitamins and diet and exercise and relaxation techniques to see if the body's imbalance can be put back into balance. Same as the natural treatment for fibromyalgia, which is to strengthen the immune system, strengthen the body, strengthen the orans, etc. Hope it works well for you.
560272 tn?1311353893 Thanks, I will look into that book. And by the way, I'm basically not functioning, staying at home 95% of the time (which is hard with 5 kids & a husband). Unfortuantely my county/city only has one natropath and she is 30 minutes away from me.....which isn't gonna happen until I can do something with this anxiety. I prefer homeopathy over herbs. Anyone, including Paxiled, ever tried "Anxiety Relief" by Natural Care?
Avatar n tn How do all of you relax and manage your anxiety? I have been seeing a natural doctor who has me on supplements for what she is saying is a neurotransmitter imbalance causing my anxiety but I find myself so tense my muscles actually hurt. Does anyone have anything that has worked for them to relax. I don't want to do presc meds. Thanks!
Avatar f tn On Friday i will be starting a new anti-depressant and would like to know if a rapid taper is possible off Effexor XR to start my new one by friday. This is an extended relief capsule, not the quick relief tablet and i believe it has a half life. I dont know if we are aloud to give taper advice on an anti-depressant, so if you comment you can always say, " if it were me, this is what i would do ". Im not sure even if i withdrawal from Effexor or not.
Avatar n tn Recently, i walked into a health store and asked if they had something of anxiety...their reply take B-vitamins. So i did....OMG B-vitamins are the culprit (in my case atleast). I feel almost normal again - right after the first b-complex Antibiotics kill good bacteria in the stomach, that helps process nutrients and vitamins. B-vitamins control or gate adrenal gland response, thus when B-vitamin processing bacteria die, the threshold for anxiety / stress lowers...
758077 tn?1282599161 I would have thought the anxiety would have gone by now. I know sleep will help, but I need to get rid of the anxiety first.
Avatar n tn Just a thought - with vitamins and natural supplements, anything your body doesn't need, it excretes so, they're safe. My Dr. also prescribed Vistaril, which I take when I'm really starting to squirm. I took 75mg., which is the maximum amt. you can take last night, along with the calcium, B12, etc. but I still woke up at 3:30 a.m., craving the medication. It appears to be an "every other night" thing; one night I sleep good and the next night I don't.
Avatar f tn I'm looking for any type of foods or drinks that help combat depression and any natural ways to combat depression as well. What vitamins, minerals, supplements help combat and help fight depression? Thanks!
Avatar f tn It takes a long time for your brain to realize that it has to start making it's own natural pain killer again. You may experience anxiety and depression and even have some aches and pains that you never had before. Your use has masked you from feeling anything for however long you were doing it and it takes a while before you get back to your normal self. But you will get back. Hang in there. It won't last forever.
366811 tn?1217426272 Now and then the forum's attention turns to supplements, vitamins, herbal remedies and similar things to ingest, apply, insert or otherwise deploy in our efforts to deal with or get over panic and anxiety. Frequently, it all starts with questions like, "Will this work?," "Has anyone tried this?" Or with statements such as "I read (saw, heard) that (name of thing) can really help...
Avatar f tn What works for me may not work for you but I would like to encourage anyone in chronic pain to keep seeking natural remedies and alternative treatments that provide relief. Keep an open mind. A lot of this stuff seemed foreign to me initially but I researched and asked questions.
Avatar f tn I want to find a more natural way to get past my anxiety! I do think that just talking with someone about how I feel and finding natural things like diet or vitamins will make a world of difference without having to take these meds... I have actually only been on the Wellbutrin for just over 1 month (I just looked at the fill date on the bottle) feels like longer! I am hoping that tapering off the lowest dose after only being on it for just over 1 month will be pretty easy!!!
1700643 tn?1464850282 Most of us don't Try the natural remedies before seeing a doctor.I said I was experiencing anxiety(this was over6years ago n a different state)he said ur stressed, the lortabs will cause anxiety etc.He immediately gave me120-1mg xanax a month+bumped them2 2mg w/n3months.Never suggested any otc meds to try1st I didn't know they exsisted. He wouldn't suggest or prescibe AD meds. The Dr I have now is the only1who has ever cared about me+my well being.
Avatar f tn I personally take 5-HTP and it seems to be helps with mood/anxiety, etc and is natural (check out the health pages as well). I dont think it's supposed to work overnight, but it sure does help!!! On day 8, i felt EXACLTY as you did, and day 9, i felt the complete's going to be a roller coaster and it will get better...i'm at 3 weeks and still have ups and downs, but the ups are definitely outweighing the downs at this point...
Avatar m tn Because antibiotics kill off beneficial organisms, including some that help manufacture B vitamins which help relax us, they can indeed cause anxiety. They don't take time to start working, they start working right away. I recently took an antibiotic and it affected my stomach; this is common. Many people are also allergic to antibiotics, which is a question asked on any medical intake form.
199177 tn?1490502134 Natural Medicine For The Recovering Addict © Janet Zand L.Ac., O.M.D. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The term "addiction" encompasses almost all imbalanced and self-destructive behavior. Substance abuse can create an illusory sense of well-being, but in the end it severely damages physical, psychological, and spiritual health.
1460652 tn?1340252330 I am convinced without a shadow of a doubt that my nervous system has been damaged by taking these drugs and this is why i urge people to try other avenues first in their quest for relief from anxiety and not to stay on them long term.
Avatar f tn It's time to address the anxiety. Our anxiety feeds off our fears and worries, and when we sit in anticipation of another attack, we will get one. You're absolutely correct, it's a vicious cycle. Try to distract yourself before and after eating both physically and mentally and see if that helps. If not, therapy would be very beneficial in teaching you how not to dwell on this and think differently.
Avatar m tn Some of my clients have struggled for many years with things like severe anxiety, OCD, PTSD, war veteran trauma, phobias, etc. Within a few sessions, many have gotten some relief and feel more like themselves again. Sometimes their anxiety can be completely and permanently neutralized. In other cases, it takes a few sessions. But most everyone I've seen seems to get at least some improvement in their condition.... It's worth a shot, and don't give up in your journey to heal.
Avatar m tn Hello all, I have been sufffering from major depression and Anxiety for the pass three months which was caused by several medical test which I had to go through. ( Prostate Biopsy, Throat Problems ) Some test are still to be done, everything I feel has been intense from body aches to pains in different areas. My Doctor has me on Celexa and Atavin, only Atavin seems to help, but I hate feeling sleeping all the time..
Avatar f tn All the medical research suggests that antidepressants help about 2/3 of the people who take them. The "chemical imbalance" theory of anxiety and depression is largely rejected in the medical community. There is nothing to prove in this regard. Depression and anxiety are caused by many factors. And research shows no difference in neurotransmitter levels between people who are depressed and those who are not depressed.
