Avatar f tn Hi I have been taking a 25mg of trazadone to help with sleep but I wanna try natural remedies like valarian root or magnesium. Can I take both natural remedies?
Avatar f tn The best way to get your nutrition is by eating healthly. Although vitamins can provide some of the things that we do not take in in our diets, the absolute BEST source of these nutrients is in FOOD, because food contains types of phytonutrients that synthetic compunds just cannot reproduce. The more whole foods you eat the better (natural as opposed to processed, packaged, refined, and "fast food") Of course vegetables and fruits are of vital importance.
Avatar f tn No - unfortunately the answer is clear in my opinion. Kratom which I used for months is bad news in the long run. Pharmaceuticals are regulated and though they have been the devil for many of us, at least 1 perc means one perc and 10 means 10. With Kratom it's anybody's guess what you are actually ingesting. Avoid the substitute temptation my friend. It's a bad idea.
Avatar f tn But for overall systemic relief, passionflower is probably even better, but natural medicine is complicated and seldom uses just one remedy or goes after just one body system. Usually for anxiety there would be a combination of amino acids (5-HTP, for example, and/or taurine), stress B vitamins, and herbs that target GABA and the adrenals.
Avatar f tn Hi... Here is an article or site that has some info for natural pain relief. But I have not tried it or don't know enough about it to say if it works but it was a good read. Good luck. I hope you find what works for you :) http://healthyliving.msn.
1244180 tn?1325899111 Tachycardia is often times caused by anxiety. What you describe sounds to me like a panic attack. Anxiety can be caused by hormones after birth. It can also be caused by a few health conditions such as thyroid problems. I would talk to your dr. You can always call and make a "yearly check up" and bring it up then. Or you could talk to your OB about it.
1348686 tn?1310654243 The natural treatment for anxiety is complicated -- not so simple as is often expressed. It usually will involve a combinations of remedies, not just one or two, until the proper formula is found for you.
Avatar m tn Don't know if 5-HTP will help your GAD. It's the metabolite of tryptophan the body uses to manufacture serotonin. So when it works it works as an ssri does, but through a different mechanism. ssris are stronger in theory, but make the body use old serotonin longer, causing side effects. 5-HTP is the body's natural way of making serotonin, but serotonin might not be the answer to GAD. Everyone's different.
Avatar f tn m thinking of starting a multivitamin to see if that gives me any sort of relief. Does bloodwork check your magnesium or would that be a different kind of test?
Avatar f tn m looking for any type of foods or drinks that help combat depression and any natural ways to combat depression as well. What vitamins, minerals, supplements help combat and help fight depression? Thanks!
Avatar n tn exercise,,the thomas ecipe..something for sleep and anxiety..
Avatar f tn I used to take a lot of OTC like Tylenol and Advil to kill the pain. None of these gave me complete relief, and often made my headache worse. I was amazed when Sumatriptan came out in the 90's, as this is the only medication that really works for me. I take it in the form of Imitrex and Maxalt. I wish you and your son the best.
Avatar f tn All that being said I am looking at natural ways to help cure/stop/prevent whatever the anxiety/panic attacks. I have gotten great suggestions about breathing techniques that I have started to do but I am wondering if I should be taking a vitamin or herb that will help along with the breathing. I am taking a prenatal vitamin daily (i had a baby 7 months ago) so that is the only vitamin I am on currently.
Avatar m tn Are there any natural treatments for lyme disease? Can the body over time fight off lyme disease and clear the disease?
Avatar m tn I deal with Anxiety and depression and for literally years I've had ever lasting chest pain that never goes away. Its been hurting pretty bad lately and I have a tightness sort of sensation that's very uncomfortable. Is there a way to deal with this?
Avatar f tn You will go through this for some time. Real time. Months and maybe a year or more. The subs are known to cause depression and yes your brain is healing. While you are on any opiates your body stops making seratonin. It's your natural happy drug. It takes a long time for your brain to realize that it has to start making it's own natural pain killer again. You may experience anxiety and depression and even have some aches and pains that you never had before.
Avatar f tn I would definitely consult with a doctor on that question.
Avatar m tn I suffered a panic attack about a year ago from weed, and honestly haven't felt the exact same since. I've recovered almost I'd say 90% since then by cutting out weed, and started going on multivitamins and a sublingual B complex along with Fish Oil. I've started to recently get head shakes as my only real form of anxiety, and I'm thinking about stopping all of these natural remedies since I have no deficiencies and they might just be causing it at this point. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn It depends on the person, just as with allopathic medicine. But since any method you try will recommend you get into therapy with a psychologist who specializes in anxiety treatment and to learn relaxation techniques such as breathing exercises and meditation you can look into these as well. Using natural medicine isn't what you're going to see on the internet usually, which will recommend one product and say, use this and you'll be fine.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know any good natural remedies that have helped anxiety?? I've been hoping that with eating well and some good exercise, I could beat it. I guess I'd probably be a lot worse without it, but I'm still tense. The strange thing is that I don't have anything in particular that I feel should cause me any stress but I feel anxious far too often. What works for you?
941766 tn?1257796601 Can anyone advise of good vitamins to take for anxiety and depression. I am starting to feel better and want to control by natural vitamins and exercise. Also has anyone tried 5-htp or any of the natural stuff? I can't take anti-depressants. I do take 1.5 mgs of Kolopin at bedtime which has finally started to help.
