I think the way to find out what is causing thyriodism is to have a national registry base with all the biopsy results on. A simple voluntary questionare with the write questions should be able to pin point this problem very quickly. This is a great tool to discovering what is causing any disease especially one on such a sharp rise all over the world. If they can get to one major cause for cats surely us humans should be able to do the same.
