Avatar n tn Um. I've been prescribed *two* drugs by my doctor: Each a simple nasal spray once a day. The fact that I asked about the other drugs doesn't mean I was taking them--I simply wanted information. The interaction between the 2 inhalants was the core of my question. Thanks. That aside, the congestion is beginning to clear out, so this is moot.
Avatar m tn So can i taking the homeopathy medicine along with nasonex spray or any other treatment for nasal polyp. If your advise well help me to get rid of these problem then i will be thankful to you and MEDHELP for my entire life : )....
29837 tn?1414534648 I've had sinus problems for years. Post nasal drip for one. I'm a professional singer and it's been tormenting me for years. Recently I went to an eye, ear, nose specialist who prescribed Nasonex. Anyone have any success with it? I say that because I tried it now for two days with no effect. Do I need to try it longer? Anyone?
Avatar n tn He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on. Here's my question: Are any of you using something like Nasonex or Flonase? I do have a headache behind my eyes and feel tired a lot, but I had that before too.
Avatar f tn I think they should consider trying a nasal steroid spray and/or a nasal antihistamine spray. Some of these can be considered safe during pregnancy.
Avatar f tn I can however use just a steroid inhaler along with the Nasonex nose spray, it seemed to work very well for me. Should I try staying with this or try Singular. I thought I read up on Singular as causing liver issues. What do you think would be the safest way to go? Or the best? I love breathing better !!
Avatar n tn However, you should not use decongestants for more than 5-7 days at a time. Symptoms can also be relieved by using a saline nasal spray or a nasal spray that contains corticosteroids. Corticosteroids work by helping to reduce inflammation and congestion. The golden rule for chronic stuffy nose is steam inhalation. Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot (but not boiling water) may help to soften, and loosen, the build up of mucus in your nose.
Avatar n tn I just started using Nasonex (steroid nasal spray), and it really helps my allergies and sinus headache, and eye-related sinus problems. But I also have PVCs and my heart pounds a lot (can feel it in my head, back, etc). I'm wondering whether Nasonex is safe to take long term if I have these heart issues. Doctor just shrugged his shoulders when I asked. Anyone know?
Avatar m tn would a nasal spray help with the clicking and head aches and feeling of a full head and ear??
1206005 tn?1265824205 ive been diagnosed with having a retracted right ear. ive been given nasonex nasal spray ( steriod spray ) by the hospital and told to use it in both nostrils for four weeks and in the mean time im waiting to have a MRI scan. ive taken the nasal spray for nearly 2 weeks now and there is no change. im still getting pressure constantly and the constant pressure noises are driving me mad yet alone the ear pain .
Avatar m tn I have very bad spring allergies as well. I suffer during the day. I take benadryl at bedtime. Find out if your nose spray is absorbed systemically. Some of them just work in the nasal passages with little absorption.
Avatar f tn My daughter takes singulair every night and still has asthma and allergies flare ups. Veramyst nasal spray works best for me and nasonex is ok. I don't know which antihistamine medicine works best, I've tried them all too and they all have a side effect,.
Avatar n tn thanks for the reply doctornee, i had an appointment with a ent specialist for a different symptom but i was prescribed a nasal spray for nasal polyps (this sensation seems to have started with the medication) i'll try out that valsalva maneuver!
Avatar f tn The usual treatment plan is antibiotics, inhaler (with steroids), nasal spray (like Nasonex). I have been continuing the inhaler and nasal spray between episodes as well. The sinus/chest x-rays have come back with nothing that the doctor was concerned about. I like my doctor, but I think it's time for another opinion or a specialist. I'm not even sure where to start. ENT? Pulmonologist? Asthma specialist? Thanks for your help.
Avatar f tn Have you tried going back to nasonex or asking your doc for a different nasal spray...there are many prescription nasal sprays out. Might could try zyrtec once daily especially during allergy season, as it is now over the counter. Some people find good results with nasal saline. It is inexpensive, shouldnt cause rebound. I would at least follow up with your doc for a recheck to make sure nothing else is going on. PS..elevate the head of your bed about 4 to 6 inches. May give some relief.
Avatar m tn If you do have a chronic sinus infection, typical antibiotic treatment is for 4-6 weeks. A nasal steroid spray is also beneficial as well as oral steroids. Nasal saline irrigations over the counter like NeilMed or Neti pot are very effective, but worsen Eustachian tube dysfunction (water in the ears or feeling of fullness in the ears). The best diagnosis for this problem is a CT of the sinuses. Surgery is recommended to patients that fail maximal medical treatment.
1393709 tn?1280178870 I've been having a plugged up nose for about a month now.. It's so bad that I had to finally went to the store and bought myself a nasal congestion spray. It is called "Afrin". My nose is plugged the whole day through out the night, it's literly plugged 24/7 and I have to breath through my mouth only. The Afrin helps my nose clear out 10 to 12 hours and then after that it's plugged again and then I have to spray the afrin up my nostril again.
Avatar f tn Ever since I got my wisdom teeth taken out over a year ago, I've been getting a strange taste/smell in my throat and nose. It's not constant, but after I've had a bit of a cold or something it gets worse. It's mostly in my nose currently, and whenever I sniff I can smell it. I went to the doctor once and they prescribed a nasal spray (nasonex I believe). It helped but didn't make it go away completely.
Avatar m tn I have bee taking Beconase hayfever spray (a steroid nasal spray) for a month and began feeling the sensation of skipped heartbeats which tend to increase around my monthly cycle. I experienced them a few years ago, also at the time of taking the Beconase spray. It took several months after discontinuing the spray before they eventually disappeared. I am having the same symptoms this time.
Avatar f tn I personally use 24hr reactine and the hydra sense spray. Its what works best for me. I find the otrivan spray works but its only for short periods of time and sometimes makes you feel worse when it wears off!!
Avatar n tn So I went to the ENT today and had them stick that scope up my nose and apparently I have a pretty bad deviated septum ... he gave me a script for a nasal spray and an antibiotic but I'm not sure what the antibiotic is for, I don't like taking antibiotics if I don't have to so I'm hesitant to take that. He mentioned surgery but for the possible future ... I'm hoping the nasal spray will help the allergies and the post nasal drip ...
Avatar m tn The only thing I ever get perscribed is Nasonex, which does not help the situation! Once in a while Clariton pills will work, other time it does not. Clariton nasal spray works for the first two days then I get a rebound effect and I can't even breath through my nose during the day then. I just lost my family doctor, and no other doctor's in my area are taking patients! So unless I go to the emergency, I'm SOL! Does anyone have any suggestions?
Avatar f tn I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
Avatar n tn she had nasonex (cortisone based nasal spray) for two weeks.then stopped for 10 days and now the dr.tells me to continue for a month. I am going mad with all of this and i have to wait a month to see the specialist..
