narcolepsy

1745492 tn?1320198340 I have symptoms that some people say are consistent with narcolepsy. However, all I have seen are people with severe narcolepsy, and I'm not as bad as them. I do have very vivid dreams that can be stressful to me. I can write whole books on my dreams because they are so vivid. They are so stressful sometimes that I wake up sweating. I can fall asleep quick. As in I can take an short nap, say an hour, and still dream. I do not sleep well at night and have very interrupted sleep.
Avatar n tn It sounds like you have narcolepsy. I myself have it and your story sounds very close to my experience with narcolepsy. It can get dangerous, for example, if you're driving (it's happened to me!). The vivid dreams is a symptom of narcolepsy. Do you ever feel like you're half awake but you can't open your eyes? What other symptoms are you having besides being unrested? I would definitely consult your physician or a sleep lab. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Also, some of the aspects of REM sleep that normally occur only during sleep—lack of muscular control, sleep paralysis, and vivid dreams—occur at other times in people with narcolepsy." [wiki] did it start all of a sudden and when?
1225178 tn?1318980604 I have been having the weirdest dreams lately. My husband thinks they have some psychological significance, but I told him I think it is the tx. Did anybody else have really weird dreams?
Avatar f tn Someone with narcolepsy will experience the characteristics of REM sleep (vivid dreams and muscle paralysis) at the beginning of sleep, even if that sleep is during the day. It can take YEARS if not decades to diagnose, if you don't have Cataplexy. Could also be that you aren't quite awake yet. Definatly talk with your doc though. Sorry to put all this in here. I am kinda fascinated with it right now because they think I have it.....
12594947 tn?1426138835 Not being specific on a disorder, just any sleep disorder in general. I have several myself. I forget a lot of the terminology but I have bouts with insomnia. I have early awakenings and very vivid dreaming almost every night. I also have had sleep paralysis but it has been a long time since my last episode. I had it often as a child though. Alcohol is used by many people for sleep.
Avatar f tn I was eventually diagnosed with narcolepsy—apparently vivid and lucid dreaming is common for narcoleptics.
4330424 tn?1352905253 ve never heard of anyone who can remember most details of their dreams. They are quite realistic, and vivid.. Can someone please help me? Any suggestions about any points I've mentioned would be greatly appreciated.
1287446 tn?1313947638 Hi everyone. I am not familiar with Narcolepsy or sleep disorders in general but my sleep has always been different. Typically, I fight daytime sleepiness with caffeine. In prior years, the caffeine has been a lot but I’ve lowered it significantly.
Avatar f tn But studying is ridiculously hard because I suffer from excessive dreaming and dream recall! I have very vivid, detailed dreams and I remember too many of them since when I was a child until last week! I wake up every morning my brain is tired because I just spent the night thinking up crazy, detailed dreams! Of course I have loss of attentiveness and concentration the whole day, and it doesn't matter how much I sleep it makes no difference!
Avatar f tn I'm a seventeen year old girl and about almost two months ago I started having really realistic dreams or "lucid dreams" as I found out. While in my dreams I have a lot of problems breathing and often feel like I'm suffocating. I also get weird random little shocks in my body at different parts of the day. And I wake up with my body feeling sore like I got ran into several brick walls.
Avatar f tn I had these reoccuring dreams as a teenager and lasted many years they went away but now seem to be slowly coming back. I am sleeping and all of a sudden wake up I cant move and I feel like I am severly shaking. I here voices of people arund the house sometimes family memebers sometimes people are in the room tooo I can sense and hear them. I try yelling to get my family to help me up because at this point I am hurting all over my entire body. Nobody ever hears me screaming.
Avatar f tn I was experiencing insomnia, but when i did sleep I'd. Experience. Such vivid dreams that when i woke i would experience. The most realistic hallucinations. Also on a fw occasions total paralysis, visions of a black cloud of some sort pinning me down an preventing me from calling out for help, sometimes lasting up to 5 minutes. I dont concentrate on the fear of the situation, rather more just trying to get up. Untill i started researching. Logical explanations, i didnt know what to believe.
Avatar f tn The post was about vivid dreams of pain in them and waking out of being paralyzed into sticky full bodied sweat, I really need help with this, please send a reply if u have experienced this or know about it, and could help me, understand, either I'm very very sick and don't know, or it could be real.
Avatar f tn A sleep disorder where the brain cannot properly regulate the sleep/wake cycles. Do you remember your dreams often? Have vivid dreams? Ever wake up with sleep paralysis? Had vivid dreams that you thought were real but then realized they weren't? Do you dream when you take a short nap, say no more than an hour long? Have you ever fallen for no reason? Found your knees weak from laughing? Those are symptoms of cataplexy. Which is also a symptom of Narcolepsy.
Avatar f tn Sleep paralysis is a very common feature of narcolepsy. How old are you? I was convinced I had narcolepsy when I went but I ended up having periodic limb movement disorder. It's where you kick your legs and move your arms all night long. Every time I would get into REM, I would kick my legs or move my arms and it would jerk me out of it. That's what caused me to remember my dreams vividly. I would wake up mid REM cycle.
Avatar f tn Nope, I'd say it's normal. I have vivid dreams all the time. Some are rather strange, scary or down right crazy.
Avatar f tn Anyone else out there having crazy, vivid dreams? Many nights, I find myself waking up in sweats and feeling kinda panicky after experiencing one of these wild dreams.
Avatar f tn Yep. Pregnancies give you crazy dreams. I've had dreams about my husband where I wake up so angry at him for something he did in the dream.
Avatar f tn I have been experiencing these so called "vivid dreams" recently and I must say, I DON'T LIKE THEM AT ALL! A lot of the dreams involve my husband cheating on me, and last night I had a dream that I delivered the baby very early, and the doctors made me keep him in a Ziploc bag that was filled with the amniotic fluid and when he needed to eat, I would make sure that he swallowed the fluid.
Avatar n tn i never have dreams but lately i have been having vivid dreams that are mostly muffled up and i dont understand i was wondering if you can tell why this is happening
Avatar f tn i dreamt last night that i had TWINS..the dream was so vivid....anyone have dreams of what they are having and been true...

5915949 tn?1396188227 In the beginning I had dreams about people dying. I'd wake up bawling and text the people in my dreams to make sure they're OK. Now I'm having crazy sex dreams. Tmi I know but I used to never have them. I took a nap today and had a dream that I had an ice cold soda and it was so good lol. Idk what that was about but it made me want a drink.
