It's basically a song to his son about a dream he used to dream and I <3 it :) (Also LOVE billy joel's "goodnight my angel"...good pick Niki_beth!!!

Avatar f tn He explains that nasolabial folds are the outer parts of nose and cheek that meet upper lip and usually not affected by Lupus. This got me confused--I'm not sure if he means the skin by the nose and beside the cheek or when he says upper lip does that mean under the nose? Also he mentions that USUALLY not affected by Lupus. Does that mean some people still may have Lupus if it's not in that area where the rash is?
Avatar m tn Hi, they are two different entities. Narcolepsy, a sleep disorder is characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness, sleep paralysis, cataplexy where the person has episodes of loss of muscle function while awake, hypnagogic hallucinations and automatic behavior. Central sleep apneas are caused due disorders or lesions in the brain. The peripheral system does not get the right impulses for respiration and hence the stoppage of respiration. As a result the person is aroused from sleep. Regards.
1287446 tn?1313947638 Hi everyone. I am not familiar with Narcolepsy or sleep disorders in general but my sleep has always been different. Typically, I fight daytime sleepiness with caffeine. In prior years, the caffeine has been a lot but I’ve lowered it significantly.
Avatar f tn i was wondering if i should be tested for narcolepsy, or if diagnosed with narcolepsy would they prescribe me to something similar to adderrall? if this were the case, being tested would not matter much if they would give me the same medications anyways. I just dont want to be misdiagnosed and on the wrong medication for the rest of my life.
Avatar n tn Been diagnosed with CFS by Dr. Black from Hunter Hopkins Center, which I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to be treated by her. She is a wonderful doctor as well a wonderful person. Recently had a sleep study and a MSLT nap study the following day. This was my 4th sleep study and they all have indicated the inability to get Stage 3 or 4 sleep (less than 5 min. per night).
Avatar f tn I am diagnosis with narcolepsy and have had symptoms for 5 years now. I have been taking 500 mg. of nuvigil for over 2 years. Plus, 60 mg of adderall a day. My symptoms have slowed down a little, but I have to take 2 naps a day and not drive anywhere. I have sleep studies twice a year and it seems to get worse each time. Its very aggravating to me! It seems like something would help. I see a team of specialists at Vanderbilt, but I need something else, but what? Anyone have any suggestions?
Avatar n tn no sexual activity and I do work out and sweat but have always ben very hygenic with my southern region. Any help will be appreciated because it is very annoying.
535822 tn?1443976780 The long-term health damage caused by the great H1N1 swine flu scam "pandemic" of 2009 -- and particularly the mass vaccination campaign that accompanied it -- is already becoming apparent in the form of an autoimmune disorder.
Avatar m tn Do you think its ok to use music lyrics as your mood some ppl use quotes and quotes out the bible. I dont mind whatever helps the person in need. Id love to hear what you all think ?
Avatar n tn has anyone heard what vaccination is reportedly linked to narcolepsy? i saw a show yesterday about narcolepsy and they mentioned a vaccination was given to a 13 year old girl and 2 hours later she was experiencing cataplexly (a paralyzing catatonic state that is a symptom of narcolepsy) but they did not say which vaccination.
Avatar n tn Hi, narcolepsy and sleepwalking are different sleep disorders. Narcolepsy is characterized by excessive daytime sleepiness, sleep paralysis, cataplexy where the person has episodes of loss of muscle function while awake, hypnagogic hallucinations and automatic behavior. It can however be regulated with medications. So, ensure to take them regularly and follow up with your doctor. Regards.
Avatar f tn Thank You sooo much for playing! :) The next person wouldn't post the lyrics to the next song though until the person who posted the lyrics says if the guess is correct or not like as in my Name the Movies Game. That way we can keep the game in an organized fashion that won't be too confusing. ;) Thanks!!! :) Like in my other games you may ask the person who posted the lyrics questions such as what year the song came out and that.
1796826 tn?1578874779 “Old Ben, you have it stuck in your mind that ‘I got myself into this, and I’ll get myself out of it.’ I know that self-reliant streak has served you well in the past, but what you don’t realize is it has become the mindset that’s holding you back! You have to change, boy, you have to show real courage by admitting you’re weak, and not the false courage of carrying the world on your shoulders because you’re afraid of what people may think if you ask for help.
427801 tn?1203844562 basically thats a sleep apnea test followed by a narcolepsy test. i didnt show any signs of sleep apnea, however i barely slept cause i had a million wires hooked up to me :/ the narcolepsy test is a series of 20 minute naps followed by 2 hour breaks where we must stay awake. as i understand it, if you fall asleep in any naps, you have narcolepsy, because its supposed to take a normal person 30-45 minutes (after falling asleep) to reach REM sleep.
589816 tn?1332976771 Narcolepsy is an uncommon sleep disorder in children but can significantly impact kids who have it. Narcolepsy is diagnosed by the sleep onset REM episodes (SOREMs), wherein the person goes into the dream phase or REM cycle soon after sleep onset. This is evident in the Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT).
Avatar f tn This is the symptom of a sleep disorder called Narcolepsy. This sleep disorder is characterized by excessive day time sleepiness, sleep paralysis, cataplexy where the person has episodes of loss of muscle function while awake, hypnogogic hallucinations and automatic behavior. You will need to consult your primary care physician, who may schedule you for a polysomnogram (sleep test) to rule out sleep disorders and initiate appropriate therapy. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Yes, narcolepsy can result in disturbed nighttime sleep. Narcolepsy can only be diagnosed with a multiple sleep latency test during the day (usually preceded by an all night sleep study). Dr.
