I have never been diagnosed with any form of herpes as commonly known to cause Bells Palsy. Thus I am frustrated and wondering could it be a medication I take. Are there any medications known to cause Bells Palsy? Thank You.

I am 28, just a few months from 29, female, mother. I have narcolepsy and am on meds to help keep me awake. I also have kidney stone trouble, and a double prolapsed heart murmur. I am allergic to shell fish too. I wanted to start a diet, try something new, to help address some of my ailments. Mostly I want to have a diet, or know which foods to eat, to cater to my narcolepsy. About three months ago I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy. After explaining to my doctor that I am always sleepy, never feel rested, little energy or motivation, lack of concentration and irritability I did a day sleep study. I took four 25 minute naps an hour and a half apart. On the average I fell asleep within 4 minutes and reach REM sleep on three of the four naps. Since then I've been taking 200mg of Provigil/day, but not feeling better.

Although the pt has RLS and PLMS, the arousal associated with these do not likely explain EDS- given a short overall sleep and REM latency, consider narcolepsy clinically. I had 156 arousals, 110 spontaneous, the rest due to limb movement. I also spent most of my sleep time in sleep stages 1 and 2, whith REM episodes scattered randomly. i was wondering if i should be tested for narcolepsy, or if diagnosed with narcolepsy would they prescribe me to something similar to adderrall? if this were the case, being tested would not matter much if they would give me the same medications anyways. Bells palsy can cause inadequate closure of the eyelid and consequent exposure keratitis. As you have recovered this function, the others too should resolve. Continue with your physical therapy.
