Avatar f tn I'm currently on 300 bupropion, along with topamax 100 and still have had no weight losse. I just started the 300 bupropion after being on 150 last week and have already had crying spells but this was the week of my period so I was thinking I just could be "emotional". Before I was on Zoloft 25-150 bupropion but I ate to much on it, I'm hoping for weight loss but every antidepressant I take makes me eat what to do I do??
Avatar f tn My doctor then prescribed me Bupropion HCL (take twice a day). He says that should help with weight loss. Has anyone had good experiences with Bupropion? Did you gain weight on Citalopram? Thanks!!!
Avatar f tn i just got sucribed this and its this known to gain weight or loss weight?
5371853 tn?1367025372 At the age of 30, after a dramatic weight loss due to a vertical sleeve gastrectomy (50 lbs!) I started to experience SEVERE depression and anxiety for the first time in my lifea year ago. No history of emotional problems, nor is my life troubled. It's actually quite stable. I have spent this year exploring every medical possibility: B12, thyroid, neuro issues, heart issues, thiamine, and more. I broke down and started bupropion 8 weeks ago, I am up to 300XL and have been for 6 weeks.
1305597 tn?1275336446 Another medication that is sometimes added to SSRI in the treatment of depression is bupropion (welbutrin) and it has even been shown to cause a small weight loss over the first few months (it suppresses the appetite). However, if the eating disorder you are is either anorexia or bulimia this is not an option because during clinical trails bupropion caused a slightly increased rate of new seizures in those two eating disorders.
Avatar n tn Avanza (mirtazapine) is associated with weight gain. Have you tried Wellbutrin (bupropion)? It is an antidepressant associated with weight loss. Wellbutrin is likely safer to use in combo with Effexor than Reductil (sibutramine).
Avatar n tn I have never used wellbutrin for weight loss, but I was given a script for it once to help stop smoking. I took it for about 3 months; it didn't help me stop smoking, nor did it help me lose weight. You would need to talk to your doctor about getting off it safely.
Avatar n tn My husband das been diagnosed with depression and anxiety had been taking Effexor XR 75mgs or about 1 year however the side effects ie weight gain tiredness and loss of libido was troubling him. The switched to cymbaltor, due to high costs (even with insurance) of this medication is wanting to switch to somethig that is less expensive and that has a generic available. What about Wellbutrin or do you have any other suggeations?
Avatar n tn off topic from you're question...sorry. But, I'm currently on the same med bupropion XL, only 150 for the past 3 weeks and I was wondering since you have been taking it longer, how long till you started feeling any help w/ the depression?? I'm waiting for a call back from Doctor(maybe up it?
Avatar f tn Oh yeah anyone that needs help for the next sixth months afterwards the naltraxone is the best. Its made to help with weight loss and all sorts of other things. I didnt even crave a pain pill. No deppression or anything and im a hot head big time. I made the worst mistake by thinking well im on vacation and I wanna have a good time and relax and not feel pain for this week. I screwed up bad.
Avatar f tn I'm currently on 300 bupropion/100 topamax for migraines. I don't like the bupropion as much as Zoloft but had to stop it bc I ate so much on the Zoloft. Is there anything someone could recommend to make me loose weight along with taking Zoloft?
Avatar f tn (I know it is considered a stimulant for a lot of people - hence the usual weight loss.) Is there anyone else here who has an anxiety disorder and is taking this combo of meds with good results?
Avatar f tn I started looking at questions about PPIs and weight gain and found other things that concerned me. My VA Dr is shall we say less than desirable. Here are my issues. I have been taking protonix for many years. I took another type before it but VA decided it was too expensive and quit providing it. Over the years I have had significant weight gain, a lot of which I attributed to my por eating habits and decreasing exercise due to severe joint problems. Now I'm not so sure.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with taking Bupropion (Wellbutrin) to help with no longer using 30 mg Roxicet?
Avatar f tn I felt great, I lost 72 lbs in about a year and a half ( I was overweight, so they weight loss was great, I felt so much better in so many ways), and my sex life was wonderful. Well we are to the 7 year mark, and it just seems it isn't working anymore. I have gained 50 of the 72 lbs back, and my sex drive has left the building.
Avatar f tn My doctor also prescribed Phenteramine 37.5 mg for weight loss. I take both together in the morning. I do go to him every month and have a check up so he can check my blood pressure...it is always low anyways. But he does keep a close eye on me. Also, if I have something stressfull happen in my life, I drop the phenterimine for a couple of days to prevent an anxidy attack. Phenteramine does make you anxious,,, more so than the adderall or Concerta.
Avatar n tn I've been taking Bupropion(generic) for 3 months. I've tried 300mg-XL, 2x150mg-SR, and both times (though I'd take the morning dose at 6AM) had a hard time falling asleep at night, tossing around in bed an hour or so. I normally don't have a sleeping problem. So, I now take only one 150mg-SR around 7AM and no afternoon dose. I can fall asleep fine now, but my energy runs out in the late afternoon ...
209591 tn?1267414714 Did you just begin the treatment today? I had read about possibly having to order the dosage because many drugstores are able to produce the required amt. What amount has your doctor started you on? I'm really interested in your progress and thoughts about this as you go along with your treatment, and I know others are as well. We wish you the best and pray it works out well for you. Thanks for you update.
Avatar n tn anyone tried low dose naltrexone for chronic fibro burning pain in shoulder, chest, arms prescribed by my rheumatologist?
Avatar m tn I am taking fluoxetine 40 mg and Bupropion 300 extended release. I started a new job about a month ago and have been going full steam ahead. I have had 4 days off and have woke up anxious the last three of them as well as feeling a little depressed. Doc seems to think I was keeping my mind very busy and now I have time to think I am crashing. Anyway it got me thinking about my meds. The Fluoxetine has put about 5 kilos on me.I really don't like this.
Avatar m tn I use to be sIze 0 now I'm sizE 8 fluaxol injections, sertraline, zeldOx&litium any advise would be help full
Avatar n tn As you can see, Effexor is amongst the least likely to cause weight gain, and in fact, is known to contribute to weight loss. You may wish to try an alternative on the list above. It is unclear why anti-depressants cause weight gain. Here are some possibilities: • Overeating, as a result of depression, can cause weight gain, esp if the person had lost weight in the pretreated depression • Most anti-depressants, mood stabilizers and antipsychotics are also anti-histamines.
Avatar f tn The trend seems to be that Wellbutrin (Bupropion) is the only one that has a higher rate of weight loss, but it;s not prescribed in the UK (I asked my GP for it and he'd never even heard of it). I'm thinking of trying Sertraline (Zoloft) next. And I've heard that Effexor does really make you gain weight. It's so annoying! You start to feel better on the meds but the weight gain can really make you feel worse. Which other meds have you tried?
Avatar f tn I am not feeling hyper at all. Hair loss has definitely decreased, thank goodness. Energy level remains the same. I am still feeling warm/hot. I will be having blood work in December if anything changes I will be in touch.
Avatar n tn It is recommended that you keep in close contact with your rheumatologist, and report to him or her anything that you might experience (since the diagnosis of lupus is based on a multitude of symptoms). These symptoms would include unexplained fever, weight loss, hair loss, and kidney problems. Regards.
