Subutex does not have naloxone in it it shouldn't throw u into withdrawal only suboxone because of the naloxone rips the opiates out of ur brain n there's ur withdrawal

OK, I'll try to explain this if I can. We're talking about 3 drugs. Their generic names are naltrexone, naloxone, and buprenorphine (hence called bupe cause I don't wanna spell it out all the time). Now, naltrexone and naloxone are basically the same acting drug. They both can be either used to "reverse" an opiate overdose, or stop an addict from getting an benefit from taking an opiate.

I had not heard that naloxone worked against cravings but if u take something u wont feel it so in a counter way...it does...your mind is in control of cravings...not the naloxone...but knowing it is a waste of time to take a narc when on sub would make cravings much better i would think...researched and have been working with my pain doctor closely in my spare time studying his sub patients..I have taken an interest in it and we ar close so he lets me without divulging any confisential info...

Yes, it is a narcotic and very addictive. The brand name is Subutex. It is a very long-acting medication, which means at the proper dose, the patient will be "normal" and not experience the euphoric high as he did with his drug of choice. If an opiate naive person takes it, he will get high. Bupe is also used in a detox drug called Suboxone, which contains naloxone.

naloxone, unfortunately for suboxone wd pr amy opiate/opioid wd will not aid in easing the pain or physical aspect, it will help a littloe with the cravings for opiates..the biggest advantage with naloxone is that it will block any opiate/opioid no matter what the potency from having any effects for quite a long time especially if you take it for a while. congrats on day 9, what doose of suboxone were you last on? and for how long total were you on sub?

The naloxone in the mix is only placed as a deterrant to misuse. When taken orally as prescribed, naloxone has a horrible bioavailability and is virtually nonexistant... Subutex will yield the same results with regards to the opiate blockade properties.

i am allergic to naloxone (the opiate blocker in suboxone). i dont wanna get on methadone cuz the addiction gets serious. is there any thing like suboxone with the naloxone in it?

If taken sublingual, the naloxone is inert, it doesn't enter the blood stream at all. Have you had this problem the whole time, it may be that your body doesn't tolerate buprenorphine.

I am hoping to be completely off sub within a week. However, my psych Dr wants to put me on Naloxone for 6 months after that to ensure I don't have a relapse. It basically blocks the high I would get if I took any vicodin like the suboxone does. I really don't know if I even want to go on this, just b/c it's ONE MORE MED to be on. Does anyone know anything about this medicine? Or side effects?

I had read that a generic oxy from a different pharamcutical company would react as you stated. I also heard that Purdue was not going to have a new make up of the drug complete until 2009 or 2010 (I thnk) I will look for the artcles again, and if I find them I will PM to you.

Suboxone has a added ingredient called Naloxone. This was added to prevent abuse, and the Naloxone in Suboxone will allegedly cause immediate withdrawal if the Suboxone is injected or possibly snorted. Naloxone has also been known to induce withdrawal (wd) symptoms when some people are initially starting treatment, therefore some Drs will initially induct patients with Subutex which is just Buprenorphine without any additives.

suboxone has naloxone in it..and subutex does not...this makes it to where u can not shoot up suboxone due to the naloxone/which is a narcotic reversal agent used in the hospital setting for an overdose/but subutex can be used IV....course that would negate the goals of being on subutex in the first place...It is a known fact that a side effect of suboxone is a headache and that is often the naloxone that causes it...neither one tastes fantastic tho...
