Avatar n tn I am setting my fitness pal goals to help keep track of my diet. Trying to figure out calorie/carb/fat/protein ratio. For someone pre-diabetic/possibly type 2. I am 5'4 195 lbs. I have it set for 1200 cal 25%carb 30%fat 45%protein. I have had blood sugar issues but haven't been sticking with the program. I have been feeling crappy lately so I started tracking sugars again and it's not so great. I plan to got to the Dr. next week to have my a1c1 checked. It's been a while.
Avatar f tn I've had great success using "my fitness pal", which is basically a calorie/exercise counter. It's very easy to use, and it's free! I've lost 28 pounds so far, and I've been doing it for about 3 months now. Good luck!
Avatar f tn There's a good app called My Fitness Pal. It can help you keep track of calories. Ask your doctor how many calories you should be eating.
Avatar n tn I also like the app, my fitness pal to motivate me. I wish you great success.
Avatar f tn So I'm only 5 weeks pregnant and I have already gained 2 pounds since last week. I gained 60 pounds with my first pregnancy and I don't want that to happen again. I'm tracking my calories on my fitness pal but I don't know what website is accurate as far as how many calories a day I should be eating. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn at first yrs stay away from junk..eat wheat bread once or twice a week..we still need carbs. And join my FITNESS Pal a app it helps a lot.
Avatar f tn I eat a banana, apple and an orange a day. I track these on my fitness pal and usually I get all the vitamins I need. I drink almond milk for my calcium. Vitamins esp (ADEC) as well as calcium are better absorbed in a food state. Calcium citrate is more bioavailable then calcium bicarbonate. Checking the bioavailability for each vitamin supplement takes too much work for me so I just eat the foods directly.
5061022 tn?1363018223 I have recently removed myself from my fitness pal and tumblr because it is an ED breading ground! It is where I would go to get tips and encouragement. I am trying to get away from doing it as I have had it under control for the past year and it was recently triggered again in January. I have been dealing with it since the 8th grade and I am now a college junior....its a constant battle and I hate it....I am trying so hard right now to fight losing weight the right way....
Avatar f tn At the moment, I am roughly 145 cms tall and weigh roughly 45 kgs but will have to check that, I am 19 and female and would love to weigh between 35 kgs and 40 kgs, I am on My Fitness Pal but am really not sure if I am going about losing weight properly and I want to lose the weight safely and by October this year so was wondering if this is ok to do. What exercises should I do, I do a lot of walking and want to do this without getting obsessed about it.
Avatar f tn every 2 to 3 hours to keep your metabolism up. Try keeping a food diary, I suggest using the app My Fitness Pal to track calories and exercise. Start off with easier exercise programs. Try an hour a day. Cardio will help get your heart rate up but don't over do it. Try videos like Zumba or Jillian Michaels 30 day shred. It will be hard at first but I promise it will be worth it. Also remember that you are beautiful at any weight and you should accept your body for what it is.
Avatar f tn How much weight do you want to lose? You have to realize that you need to burn 3500 calories to lose just one pound. For my weight and height, I need about 1800 calories to maintain my weight. By eating 1000 calories a day, I am at a deficit of 800. That's a little more than 4 days to lose 1 pound. It's all about math. Eat healthy to get the nutrients you need, count your calories, and exercise. If you don't have it already, try the my fitness pal app; it's wonderful! Good luck!
Avatar f tn If you are eating enough (I thought I was until I used fitness pal and found I was seriously undereating) you might want to have your thyroid labs tested for hyperthyroidism.
Avatar f tn I'm 35 weeks and have gained 50 lbs. These last few weeks I need to get myself back in the habit of calorie counting. Does anyone know of an app used during pregnancy? I usually use my fitness pal but it doesn't customize to pregnancy. I'm not sure how many calories I should be taking in. Not wanting to diet but just get back on track.
1809109 tn?1331803777 Would love a way to enter a recipe ingredient by ingredient (as I can on my fitness pal)... I like your overall app better, but can't fully utilize it without being able to build recipes. I make two smoothies daily and I toss randoms in there - I like to see the nutritional value of the whole things as one recipe. Hope you update it for android soon!
Avatar f tn I too only take a folate pill. No iron, but I track my diet. Spinach meat etc. I use my fitness pal to ***** the other major vitamins. Food is the best source for some nutrients as they are better absorbed. If you are anemic iron supplementation is crucial.
Avatar f tn Just so you know you are not alone! I've worked out and have eaten very healthy and still have gained 20 lbs. That was at my last appointment.. after I saw that I said screw it I'm eating chocolate! Lol. If you really wanna try to control it ask your doc what is a good calorie amount you should be taking in and use my fitness pal (it's an app) and track everything you eat. Don't even bring sweets in the house! And water will fill you up so always stay on top of drinking it.
Avatar f tn Thank you all for the encouragement. I've started walking for now on my treadmill. Hopefully as the weather cools, I can take more walks outside. I've started using my Fitness Pal app to watch my calorie intake, taking in more protein then fatty foods. It's good to get some great ideas from other mothers and soon to be.
8762956 tn?1406304757 Breastfeeding helps. I didn't do anything to lose the weight at first but once I decided to put in the effort I was able to lose the weight quickly and healthily while breast feeding. Work out when you can, and I used the my fitness pal app. You need to tweak it some because of breastfeeding you shouldn't go under 1600 calories a day, but it can track your calories and if you follow it diligently you will lose the weight. Hard boiled eggs were my go to.
Avatar f tn I also do water aerobics and just added strength training. Track with my fitness pal. I would see if your doctor can try a different med. I have lived with PCOS since I was a teenager and diagnosed with high cholesterol in my young 20s, not overweight, and just recently diagnosed with diabetes. Unfortunately, we are cursed with this since it is unavoidable with our disease but can be managed. Good luck to you and take care of yourself!
1971918 tn?1425337201 Think about what might be causing you to feel depressed. If it's a person make a pros and cons list about them and make a change if necessary. If it's because your feeling overweight, download the" my fitness pal" app to help you gain control of your calorie intake. (I use it, it works great) if you still feel like you need junk food, make changes to it do your at least getting nutrition from it.
