Avatar f tn I have been denied breast reduction twice by my HMO based insurance, because they said it was for cosmetic reasons. I believe that this surgery would help the pain in my shoulders and my upper back. They are size 36DD and I only weigh 115. I sent an appeal out with my medical documents and a letter about my condition. I would like to know what it is I can do to get this surgery approved. I've tried everything, and I'm stuck! How do I get them to approve of this surgery!?
7251241 tn?1389564212 I think the breast reduction will be a good thing for you. I too know women who have had this and all are quite pleased. You go down to a more comfortable and natural size-- and so much of the pain and issues are gone. The downside is that it obviously is a surgery that has inherent risks. But I think from what you describe, the benefits may outweigh that tremendously.
Avatar f tn I am 19 and I have really large boobs, I am currently size 32 J and I am unhappy with the way my body looks, people are always staring and i often feel uncofortable in my clothes, I was wondering about the whole breast reduction procedure and how to go about getting it done, and if possible to know how much i could have them reduced by.

1282828 tn?1271464078 Just had breast reduction on March 26, 2010. Incisions along breast crease opened. I am using a hydrogel and 0.9% saline wet to dry dressing. Just wondering if this is a normal occurrence. Also, have discomfort in nipple area, comes and goes, not continuous. How long does it take for wounds to close and is this customary. The surgeon took off approximately 5lbs. Is silvidene ok as dressing?
Avatar f tn I had a breast reduction (about 8 lbs total) over a year ago and have several problems. I have burning and pain and lots of scar tissue in both breast and wondered if anyone has any suggestions? Some days are worse than others.
1453524 tn?1295627371 Has anyone here had immense breast pain along with the jumble of other symptoms. It almost feels like after giving birth?
Avatar f tn I had a breast reduction four months ago. I am still in pain. Some of the pain is from underneath the breast (which I can't find a bra that doesn't hurt), but the majority of the pain feels like electric shocks or being zapped. When I first started getting these "electric shocks or feeling of being zapped" the nurse said it was because the nerve ending were severed and to take 300 mg of ibuprofen every four hours.
Avatar f tn My friend had breast reduction surgery (unsure, but is that the same thing?). Her breasts enlargened and she was able to breastfeed. Again, I do not fully know what a masectomy entails, so I was just telling you my friend's experience.
Avatar f tn Is anyone else having crazy breast pain? I'm just over 11 weeks and it feels like the tenderness will not go away. When will it end?
Avatar f tn Hi everyone! Has anyone tried feeding after having a breast reduction? I fed my first but that was 15 years ago and I had a reduction about 10 years ago.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever had a breast reduction and got pregnant afterwards? It's been about six years since I had my breast reduction. I am 37 weeks pregnant and I am wondering will I produce any milk?
520691 tn?1213961844 I'm 16, and I have 36E/F breasts.. I have thought about breast reduction when i am old enough... Is there anything I can do besides having that done?
Avatar f tn I had a breast reduction done 10 years ago. I have many scars as a result. I also have fibrocystic breasts. I usually have my doc or obgyn do my breast exams because I find them difficult to do myself because of the nature of my breasts. What I am wondering is has anyone here ever had a breast reduction and find it difficult to distinguish between whats a problem lump and what is scar tissue. I have a lot of cysts some that move some that dont.
Avatar n tn Sorry I posted before I was done lol I think because its under the muscle we will still be able to breast feed. I'm not sure about the sagging part I would love to know that as well. Because I was a deflated A (I was a large B before my first child) then got implants which made me a C and now I'm a D and only 17 weeks so I'm thinking I'll get to DD's at least!
Avatar f tn I found the breast reduction surgery to be quite easy, well tolerated, no pain, I was up and out the next day, and my recovery was very easy. I wish you the best of luck. I am sure you will be very happy with your breast reduction - I sure am. Be sure you keep getting echocardiograms on your mvp. It can progress, without symptoms, and latest thinking is to be proactive and have it repaired before damage is done to the heart.
Avatar f tn Since MS is a disease of the central nervous system, it does not directly cause muscle pain. MS can cause neuropathic pain, or it can cause spasticity that can cause muscle pain. Ibuprofen is an anti-inflammatory and while it may address the pain due to inflammation, it does nothing for the "cause" and like ALL NSAIDs, it may increase cardiac risks (like the COX-2 inhibitors.) All drugs have side effects.
Avatar n tn My health insurance ghi does not cover breast lift or reduction. I am currently a size 42dd and my breast are sagging. Avatar f tn Anyone else had a breast reduction in the past and have breast fed since then? I had a reduction about 9 years ago and I am wondering if it would still be possible to breast feed since that is what we are really wanting to do.
Avatar f tn They found what the radiologist thinks is a cyst due to a breast reduction that I had back in 2000. There were also 2 little calcifications that they will wait to repeat the mammo in 4-6 months. Here's the problem with that. In 2001, I had a mammogram that came back normal. I got the films and the report from back then (didn't bring that with me to the first mammo because it had come back normal). I reread that report and know that nothing was found.
Avatar n tn It has been a full year this week since my breat reduction. Two weeks ago, i had pain in my right breast. I felt a big lump as well. I thought it was just because my period was suppose to start. Well my period has started and the lump is still there and very painful. Is this normal? I have never had lumps or anything abnoral before the reduction. Could this be something to do with the surgery? Is it common?
Avatar f tn Hi ladies I had a breast reduction 1 year and got pregnant my baby was a surprise I'm due in 2 weeks I have no sign of milk coming in so I don't know if I can even breast-feed anyone have the same surgery and could feed their baby after having that type of surgery.
Avatar n tn My husband and I are thinking of getting pregnant. One thing I'm worried about are my breast. I know it maybe a chance that I can't breast feed. I have one breast that is really incredibly sore even after a year after the surgery. I haven't had a baby before and I know my breast will get larger. I'm afraid they will get bit like before, I was a 36G now I'm a 34D. Do your breast go back down after having the baby even if you don't breast feed? Any advice would be great.
Avatar n tn My best friend got breast reduction surgery yesterday, and she is always in a lot of pain. She's on a few rather strong oral narcotics, but she still can't really move without being in pain. She can't sit up on her own, or sleep on her sides without causing pain to the breast area. If it helps, she went from an H cup to a B or C cup, which is a rather big change. She can't sleep at all, so she has a large area under her eyes that is dark and baggy from lack of sleep.
