Avatar m tn This could also be due to dermatitis , eczema or folliculitis. But nothing can be said with surety without a clinical examination. You should wash the area and keep it clean, apply calamine lotion at the site and take some oral antihistamine or antiallergic medications like loratadine or cetrizine for your symptoms. You could also use an over the counter antibacterial cream like mupirocin till you see your skin specialist. Are you allergic to any specific substances?
Avatar m tn Upon our own research we are not sure if it could be MRSA, and after 4 days of trying her prescribed Mupirocin on my rash, it seems to have increased the bumps on my hand. At this point I'm really not to sure what it could be. I can not tell if it is increased by anything specific or something that is more serious. Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Avatar f tn A topical antibiotic cream, mupirocin (Bactroban®), has been effective at reducing bacterial colonization in the nostrils. It is applied twice daily for a week and is repeated every 6 months. If there any of the mentioned medical causes then treating those will reduce the occurence of the condition. http://www.dermatologychannel.net/follicle/folliculitis.shtml Some stubborn cases of folliculitis have been responsive to laser-assisted hair removal.
Avatar f tn Hello, This can be due to an allergic reaction (say to body lotions, condoms, soaps etc) or it can be a skin condition like eczema, dermatitis etc or it can be a fungal infection. Other than that it can be a simple bacterial infection or balanitis. I suggest you to get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings done. The other method is by getting a biopsy skin done.
Avatar f tn ve been to the dermatologist twice and used Locoid Lipocream once a day. Things got a little better but never went away. Then she gave me Mupirocin to use once a day. Same issue - got more manageable, but never went away. On my own, I've been taking flax oil daily and using pure vitamin E oil on my eyelids and undereye area. Since it was a rollerball application, I also applied it to my lips too. Now the edges of my lips are red and itchy as well.
Avatar n tn After finishing the course, it did not help at all! So i went back to see another GP and was diagnosed with Eczema! Was then prescribed steroid cream and that did not work, so after another week i went back to see yet another doctor and was advised that it might be Scabies so was prescribed Lyclear cream 5%! At the same time was advised to call back next morning if symptom's still persisted. Nothing had changed its still there and maybe worsened! Please help??
Avatar m tn Hello, Such kind of scabs under the armpit can be due to folliculitis, boils, abscess, cold sores, eczema, impetigo or lipoma. Folliculitis starts when hair follicles are damaged by friction from clothing or blockage of the follicle. In most cases of folliculitis, the damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria Staphylococcus (staph). Please keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics.

Avatar n tn Hi, I have a rash in my left armpit that started out as small bumps then began to grow into scaly patches. These scaly patches then grew into patches that resemble a scab like if you scraped your elbow or knees (brownish in color and firm). Eventually, these would fall off leaving normal skin underneath only to have it happen again shortly after. I saw a dermotologist who said it looked like seborrhea and prescribed Clarifoam EF and Oxistat.

Avatar f tn This skin rash can be due to contact dermatitis, nummular dermatitis or ringworm (fungal infection). Nummular dermatitis is a sort of eczema and allergic reaction is an important cause. Ask your daughter to apply some calamine lotion on the rash. Also she should wear cotton clothes and keep the skin sweat free. If the symptoms persist then please get it examined from a dermatologist.
1616537 tn?1299369799 Recently, these growths(?), pimples(?), rash(?), eczema(?),appeared on my armpits.Previously, I have had similar ... things on the inner-part of my thigh, and those have been reoccuring for over five year. The biggest growth on my armpit, is the most painful, it doesn't have a white head, therefore for I can't pop it. Aside from this, it swells up. The swelling has gone down at lelast 30% since this picture was taken.
1245842 tn?1287830051 ve started suffering with very itching skin on the palms of my hands, its started with a rash, similar to a nettle rash, kind of little tiny lumps all over the palms of my hands, in-between my fingers and just over the tops of my fingers on the outer side, it itches like mad and if i scratch it, it goes red, sore and dry like eczema.
Avatar f tn I have dealt with this issue my entire life as well, they are like boils from ingrown hairs. I have tried many things as well and the only thing that worked for me was to NOT wear underwear anymore cause the elastic would rub my inner thigh and cause massive ingrown hairs. They are very painful and it hurts to walk. Obviously one time a month I have to wear them cause I'm a woman and I usually get a small one on the inside of my leg/groin area around that time.
Avatar f tn Accidentally, I sprayed mupirocin/Dextamethasone 5GM/45ML/0.1%, a compounded nasal preparation, in my eye. I rinsed the eye with water for about one minute. Eye has had 5 retina surgeries, has band kerapothy, and no lens. PCC told me it's ok because the mupirocin is also used for eye preparations. Correct?

Avatar m tn It was originally identified as staph and treated with Mupirocin and Clobetasol by my Dr. Unfortunately 2 weeks of use has done nothing. I haven't been able to see her again so I figured I'd post here. I have a feeling this could be fungal, but am not sure. As you can see in the pic, it is a red irritation and slightly raised. It has shown only minor response to both clobetasol and mupirocin. It has never itched.
