Avatar n tn My husband and I recently decided we want to start a family together. He has 2 boys from his previous marriage. The youngest has a lot of skin issues and has contracted MRSA. Since meeting my husband, we have all had bouts with boils caused by MRSA. We've tried just about everything.. and we really just deal with them now. Get on antibiotics, put the mupirocin in the nose, etc. I had a couple boils over a year ago.. then didn't have anymore for probably 10 months..
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Mupirocin for a non-healing nasal ulcer. I used it for about 2 days then woke up with a bad headache today from the get go. I've tried everything I can. I have taken Tylenol TWICE, Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen in it, nasal spray, a Breathe Right nasal strip (since I do have severe sinus problems.) NOTHING has worked or given any relief.
Avatar f tn Back in August I had a lesion in the same spot and tested negative. At since I tested negative months ago for all std and tested negative again last week.

Avatar f tn Accidentally, I sprayed mupirocin/Dextamethasone 5GM/45ML/0.1%, a compounded nasal preparation, in my eye. I rinsed the eye with water for about one minute. Eye has had 5 retina surgeries, has band kerapothy, and no lens. PCC told me it's ok because the mupirocin is also used for eye preparations. Correct?
Avatar m tn It was originally identified as staph and treated with Mupirocin and Clobetasol by my Dr. Unfortunately 2 weeks of use has done nothing. I haven't been able to see her again so I figured I'd post here. I have a feeling this could be fungal, but am not sure. As you can see in the pic, it is a red irritation and slightly raised. It has shown only minor response to both clobetasol and mupirocin. It has never itched.
Avatar n tn Please help me out, I am very much worried. I have these blisters growing on the skin of my testes which never open up neither fade away but have no pain. But I experience terrible Itching on the skin of my testes, specially at the night time because of which I cannot have a good nights sleep. I have this for a year now and haven't been to a doctor till now. The blisters never open up and does not emit anything either. Sometimes they become small and sometimes they grow a bit bigger.

Avatar n tn razors, electric little machines, waxes, lotions,...you name it. I cannot afford laser removal, so I am still dealing with the hair. If I shave, it grows back on the same day! If I remove it with the electric machine or wax...it doesn't last more than 2 or 3 days, and I get ingrown hairs...really deep inside the skin. I have ugly, horrible scars in my legs from trying to pull ingrown hairs out. I am desperate.
Avatar f tn Hello, I believe i may have gotten bit by some sort of bug but now where the bump was is now swollen and very painful. There was a pus-like bump and after it burst swelling and alot of pain.
Avatar m tn But, I thought I applied mupirocin onto my face because of a minor injury. So I am wondering if mupirocin could affect my test result and made it false-negative?
Avatar m tn Hello, You should not tear open the scars and just apply some mupirocin cream followed by creams containing vitamin E for the scarring. The white scar could be due to post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn My doctor first put me on Bactrim, and I had a rash all over my body and developed a fungal infenction as well. This was on day 8 of 10 on Bactrim. The doctor switched me to Keflex, and this time, that same day I got another rash all over my body. Then, she gave me a cream call Muciprocin, but i've been using it for over a week and see no improvement, although no rashes. Has this happened to anyone? Are there other antibiotics out there?
Avatar n tn Well I researched it and that is what is what the medication is called. Its called mupirocin.
Avatar m tn The rash which was local to the under arm disappeared in 2 days after applying Cortizone and Mupirocin. But the pain in the under arm and neck still persist after 18 days after exposure and 10 after it all started. It some times gets unbarable. Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it sounded like folliculitis or cysts and you can apply the topical antibiotics like Mupirocin. For oral antibiotics, you need a prescription from your doctor. However if it is a cyst then no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected, then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn Pls keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics and cold compresses. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed.Pls consult a dermatologist in that case. I hope that helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn So for years now I've been getting blackheads and boils in a rather embarassing part of my body, my bottom. They are where the skin of the cheeks rub together. They pretty much never drain and they always turn up. It's very embarassing and I was wondering if other people had it/ if it is normal and if there is any way to get rid of them. I keep that area very clean but they turn up regardless.
Avatar n tn my anus is itchy and i have a bump on my perineum that is painful.
Avatar n tn My ent says I have Ozena and we have been trying different medications to see what helps really. I know this is a guessing game since there is not much research or data dedicated to the cure of this weird but annoying respiratory disorder. I have tried levaquin (long term) it helps for the moment but it comes right back when I stop using the antibiotic. I started having complications using levaquin so I stopped and told my ENT i will never use it again unless it is absolutely necessary.
Avatar m tn Since there is confusion as to what this is, I made a somewhat risky decision and applied Mupirocin ointment USP, 2% to the remaining ulcers on my scrotum that had not yet healed. After an overnight application and two applications today, there is a dramatic difference. The sores have stopped weeping and are almost completely healed.
Avatar f tn It could be a cyst or a broil im not really sure. Its a bit painful but I have put a warm time under it and its been going down in size.
Avatar f tn The best way to prevent them is to avoid treating your skin with excessively harsh chemicals and to limit sun exposure. Also use good quality cosmetics and exfoliate your skin regularly. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then please consult a dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
