Avatar m tn It is really a shock to get this diagnosis and then you worry when the symptoms are not getting better with treatment. But, please be patient with the treatment as it will eventually work and her symptoms will calm down. Is she still in the hospital? The disease is not curable but it can be slowed down as Deb has already explained.
Avatar f tn He there, I am new to this site. I was wondering how you made out with a diagnosis. I had my mri and results showed I had lesions in the juxtacortical position and was told I didn't have MS. Even though I am experiencing the symptoms and the fact that My mom has MS. How are things with you?

Avatar f tn A resident Neurologist told me, that, as there were no positive Neuro results, and normal Neuro exam, that this was quite possibly caused by head trauma. My personal physician said Multiple Sclerosis is not possible, and feels it is Psychosomatic. I do have a history of mental illness. I was diagnosed with PTSD in 1992. I was severely ill, but, with treatment and hard work, I fought myself back. I have been stable and happy for several years.

Avatar f tn Lyme is curable, but people are still suffering and dying because of poor diagnosis and delayed treatment all over the world. Children are being born with it and lives are being ruined unnecessarily - it breaks my heart when I see a young face that is living with a life of Lyme Disease that the mother or father didn't even know they could possibly pass on. Avatar f tn there r so many conditions that have the same or an overlap of symptoms it can be dificult to get a dx and treatment in a timely manor.....there are health pages on the right of each forum of medhelp......please read thru...it will be easier for u to read to understand what is going on with ur body......otheer conditons that often are misdiagnosed as fibro is chiari ....so it will take a good dr some time and a list of tests to give u a proper dx. I hope that helps and didn't confuse u.....
Avatar f tn The hospital had a new MRI machine since the last time and the doctor attributed these lesions to the new MRI. I have had increased symptoms of fatigue and in recent weeks a tingling along both of my legs, my feet hurt and I am having alot of back pain that sort of circles around. Should I start with my PCP to see if it is my back or go straight to my neurologist? I am on Copaxone, but I was off of the shots for 6 mos prior to this last MRI for insurance reasons.
Avatar f tn Many of us are in limbo and have symptoms like yours. Many have been trying to get an accurate dx for years. It's awful! You are in good company here. I doubt if any of us can say what the chances are that you have MS. There are so many things that mimic the disease. If you think your doctor has stopped looking, find a good neurologist. Read the health pages here and elsewhere, and don't give up on finding out what is wrong, whether it is MS or something else!
