The 'ring-like' configuration of the lesion in the right external capsule is an indication that this is a old lesion that has gotten new enhancement. While you're being evaluated for MS, see if they'll do an MRI of your thoracic spine.
1517572 tn?1290796418 I had an MRI that showed one lesion in my brain, a hemangioma in the thoratic region and some mild degeneration in my cervical spine. I have been feeling ill since Feb 09 and as my condition continues I think I can recall feeling some of these symptoms as far back as 15 years old. I have has pnemonia 2 times and had HPV when I was a teen. I am 30 years old now and have 2 wonderful children and an amazing husband. My question is where do I go from here? What kind of doctors should I be seeing?
Avatar f tn Multiple sclerosis is a demyelinating disease that affects the nerves of the brain and spine. The symptoms are- brain fog, memory problems, numbness and tingling, headaches, muscle weakness and many others. Please go for the CT scan. MRI is more detailed and accurate. Avatar m tn Hi Sulu, I think there might be some confusion, usually an EEG (Electroencephalography) entails around 20 electrodes being attached to your scalp with a sticky glue or gel, with 1 more attached to each earlobe and another 1 on your forehead......If this medical person "took a needle and swapped it across around my arms i felt slight different sensation right at the end" but if a needle was involved it actually sounds like you probably had an EMG, a very poorly performed EMG though.

In the last 2 years I started waking up in the middle of the night very early in the night having to go pee but then pee'd very little and cannot go back to sleep. I have had a marked increase in dizziness and confusion that does not seem to respond to my medication for panic disorder.like Klonopin. But I really thought it was just really bad panic attacks despite the other panic attack symptoms were not there.

Friday of this week I will be getting an MRI of brain and C-spine to evaluate what is going on. This week has been hard for me felling very slow, pain in legs and other areas of my body. Does anyone know if it is possible that this is going to be an ongoing problem and is it associated with Multiple Sclerosis?
Avatar n tn These tingling, pain and numbness sensations are in the lower limbs, lumbar spine needs to be investigated clinically and with an MRI spine to check the intervertebral spinal disc which could be impinging on an exiting nerve root or a bony spur irritating the nerves and hence the symptoms. An MRI spine shall reveal most of the disc related pathologies, which could be causing the deficit.

Avatar n tn if these are not related, you need to undergo evaluation for multiple sclerosis. therapy would be according to the cause. NSAIDs, antiseizure drugs, tricyclic anti depressants etc, physiotherapy, epidural steroid injections for herniated discs and lastly decompressive spine surgery if these interventions do not help. My symptoms include: Depression Panic/anxiety attacks Muscle spasms Weird episodes where I jerk and twitch and I feel like I can't control my body even though I can? Avatar n tn Just to reassure you - the word "sclerosis" in your report DOES NOT refer to Multiple Sclerosis. Sclerosis is just a word referring to scarring. You have some arthritis changes in your spine and the bone shows some scarring. Nothing about this report suggests MS. It is quite possible that you have more than one thing going on, rather than a single cause for all your symptoms. Some, if not all, of your symptoms can be caused by MS. My first ever MS symptom was bilateral numbness in my feet. I also have neuropathic pain in my feet, although the left is much worse than the right. So your symptoms are in the ball park.

Avatar f tn If you are having Occipital Neuritis and Arm Symptoms, you need to scan the brain and C-Spine. If the symptoms are in the lower limbs, you need to scan the brain, C-spine and T-spine. Your doctor may also decide to scan the L-spine, not looking for lesions, but looking to see if lower limb symptoms could be the result of compression of the Cauda Equina, the horse tail nerves that go to the lower extremities.

Also the palm of the left hand has burning sensation once in a while as if I slapped something. No B12 deficiency, thyroid is normal, no diabetes, periods every month. My family doctor thinks that I don't need MRI of the head for MS because I don't have any other symptoms related to it. Any advice?

Though I dont have any symptoms of Multiple sclerosis except this dizziness and blacking out while bending forward. Doctor suggested to go for neck MRI, Evoked potential (EP) tests and Spinal tab test. I am very scared. I dont have diabetes, Eyesight is good, no Vertigo. Please guide what are the chances of MS.
