I'm a limolander.), but it sounds to me like things are adding up to something neurological, and from what I've read numerous punctate T2/FLAIR hyperintensities in the subcortical regions of both cerebral hemispheres can also occur in MS as well.
Avatar n tn I'm a Limbo Lander, so I don't have a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Humidity doesn't effect most neurologic conditions, but heat does. Any time it's in the high 80's or above, I hide in the air conditioning. I love it when fall and winter come to Colorado. I'm much more comfortable with the cold. As far as sunlight, we have over 300 sunny days a year here, and I don't seem sensitive to the sunlight.

Avatar f tn i know that heat intolerance, foggy brain and dizziness, and muscle aches is multiple sclerosis for my diagnosis at least. But the other symptoms are probably due to anxiety and depression. I also was put on viramin D and that is common for a woman to be put on. Hope this helps you.
Avatar m tn I live in Australia so our summers are really hard to handle with the burning feet and other stuff but the heat intolerance is epic.Because I didnt realise I had to lower my body temp back to normal i used to sleep for hours after one of these episodes and as I slept my body would return to normal temp I guess cause i woke up a bit drained from prololonged heat but more or less normal.
Avatar m tn There have been reports and studies analyzing the concomitant role of autoimmune disorders like thyroiditis, idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura along with Multiple sclerosis. Has your neurologist confirmed MS? Are you already on therapy? There have been studies on association of interferon therapy and drug induced idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Consult a neurologist for these symptoms and appropriate diagnosis. There are specific diagnostic criteria for MS.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Your doctor should investigate you for multiple sclerosis since you have multiple neurological symptoms. The symptoms of multiple sclerosis are loss of balance, muscle spasms, numbness in any area, problems with walking and coordination, tremors in one or more arms and legs.

Avatar m tn http://www.webmd.com/multiple-sclerosis/guide/recognizing-multiple-sclerosis I found a good web site for you. Does not sound like MS to me, but I am just a regular person. Hope it helps!
739070 tn?1338603402 I'm sorry you're going through such unpleasant effects of MS and I hope it does go away. If only I had a magic wand… I have the problem with being too cold all the time. I am always the one with a heavy coat or sweater. I know people with MS aren't supposed to do this, but I'm always turning up the heat in the shower. I didn't use to be this way. Plus the cold hands and feet, which may be a failure of the ANS to regulate the dilation of the blood vessels in the extremities.
Avatar m tn A paralytic Ileus is common in Multiple Sclerosis. I am a health professional, and I also have MS. IN a paralytic Ilues your abdomen will swell up. Prednisone may help. However, I just wait it out. I stay home and don't go anywhere. I have swollen up to look as if I were about to deliver twins. It is hard to wear clothes when this happens, and it is very painful. The more you put in your gut, the more it swells. I do however try to eat ruffage and it will help at times.
Avatar f tn Chest discomfort and/or pain is a listed symptom of dysautonomia which may have been what you thought was a heart attack. Conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Diabetes, alcoholism, Guillian-Barre syndrome, Multiple System Atrophy, and even prolonged bed rest may produce dysautonomia. Symptoms of dysautonomia are often aggravated by hot weather, unaccustomed exertion, the beginning of menses, large meals, inadequate fluid intake, and stressful situations.
405614 tn?1329144114 , had an MRI with multiple lesions 2/22/08, and am in Limboland. I have noticed more cold intolerance, with cramping of muscles all over my body, tachycardia, etc. I don't remember heat problems, except that the last time I went to Vegas I had trouble walking the great distances that I used to relish. My best friend decided that she was worried about me being so tired all the time, so she is sending me to Palm Springs for 8 days.

Avatar f tn I have never heard of swelling with MS heat intolerance. MS heat intolerance is more like you are a computer and you overheat and everything gets slower or weaker. Like you can hardly stand or walk. Your thinking slows down. People have trouble walking to there car in a hot parking lot. Sometimes they can't get out of a swimming pool. I am not sure what would cause swelling.
Avatar f tn So what exactly is heat intolerance and how does it relate to MS? I know the heat can exaggerate symptoms already there. But does MS make you more susceptible to getting overheated? I have noticed ever since the weather got hot (80s and 90s) I have trouble with the heat. As I've mentioned before, I run a lot. When I am running I get overheated way too fast. A lot fast than the other runners I train with.
Avatar f tn Any other ladies seem to have horrible heat intolerance while pregnant? Im 15wks and being out in the heat makes me feel sick and like I'll pass out, even in short intervals. Never had this before.
Avatar f tn I was just wondering if heat intolerance is an issue for everyone that has MS? I have not been diagnosed yet, but I have many symptoms. I do not have any problems with heat intolerance, I don't think. I am really trying to pin point the times when my symptoms are at their worst and a cause. So far, I have only figured out that when I am tired things are worse. Duh!!
1847422 tn?1332867056 The same thing happens to me. I can't even drink really hot beverages anymore and I always let my food cool a bit before eating it. We have a hot tub and keep the temperature set at 97-98 degrees If it's any hotter than that I feel horrible after using it. My kids tease me that we have a warm tub. LOL! I think there are a lot of us who suffer the same symptoms. I'm not looking forward to summer!! Thank goodness my hubby understands and is already looking into A/C for our house.
Avatar n tn I am 35 years old and for about the past year I've been suffering from heat intolerance, fatigue and severe headaches. I can be sitting down at my job and be uncomfortably warm when everyone around me is wearing sweaters and jackets. I've been to see an Endicronologist, had my thyroid and adrenol glands tested, had my hormone levels checked, and had my electrolytes tested. So far, nothing has come up abnormal.
Avatar f tn s disease and spinal problems.
