Avatar m tn Hi All, I have several neurological symptoms including about 30 lesions on a brain MRI scan. I've gotten several diagnoses from different doctors including multiple sclerosis - but nothing definitive from the dozens of tests run. Can someone tell me who is considered the top doctor for DIAGNOSING multiple sclerosis in the U.S. ? I'm willing to travel to any state. Thanks for any help you can give.
Avatar f tn a distribution somewhat atypical for multiple sclerosis and most likely due, in a patient of this age, to leukoaraiosis. The lack of patchy signal abnormality in the corpus callosum, cervical spainal cord and infratentorial compartment is also somewhat unusual for multiple sclerosis, although it remains within the differential diagnosis for the visualized lesions. Other etiologies such as vasculitis could also be considered.' So of course I looked up 'leukoaraiosis.
Avatar n tn While a clinical trial testing vitamin D supplements in multiple sclerosis patients is underway at Johns Hopkins and elsewhere, most of the evidence of its efficacy currently comes from animal studies. Vitamin D may prevent or ease symptoms of MS according to results of a recent study. PMCID: PMC3876241 -Free Article- Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Multiple periventricular white matter lesions suspicious for demyelinating disease My doctor is believing that it can be multiple sclerosis. Though I dont have any symptoms of Multiple sclerosis except this dizziness and blacking out while bending forward. Doctor suggested to go for neck MRI, Evoked potential (EP) tests and Spinal tab test. I am very scared. I dont have diabetes, Eyesight is good, no Vertigo. Please guide what are the chances of MS.
1128488 tn?1265053382 treatment of High-Dose Cyclophosphamide for Moderate to Severe Refractory Multiple Sclerosis. It was a 3 day treatment much like Chemo, my immune system was wiped out, and my blood counts taken to near zero. I spent 3 weeks having my blood counts being brought back up. Since then the unwelcome visitor has been quite and all subsequent MRI's and blood work have confirmed that the MS I HAD is in remission!
Avatar m tn One of them said it is all due to ur anxiety ( Cause i do not have any bladder problems and dizziness, numbness tingling all is due to anxiety) but one said its Multiple Sclerosis+ anxiety. My MRI and EEG were clear. Currently i have high frequency of muscle tingling through out my body only when i am lying on bed plus i see double vision of any statement especially ( white in colour) on TV and laptop. Is it MS? Should I start taking Med for MS or just let it be and hope it will go away?

1059772 tn?1286655190 I am in the process of being evaluated for multiple sclerosis due to many white spots on my MRI and eye troubles. I have a few things I have noticed for many years but didn't think much about until now: I frequently shudder with a feeling of a chill for a few seconds at a time. Occasionally, I space out for a moment and then come back sometimes in the middle of conversation. I sometimes experience a very sharp stabbing pain in my abdomen that lasts for about 30 seconds.
Avatar n tn It is possible that I had/have undiagnosed multiple sclerosis, and then when I started treatment the interferon kept the MS from progressing?
Avatar f tn I have every symptom of multiple sclerosis and have been told by several doctors I might have it. I went to a MS specialist recently and he said, after a physical examination, he didn't think I had MS but would run the VEP and Spinal Tap just to make sure (MRI of the brain and lumbar were clear). What else can be causing the same symptoms of MS? I can barely walk, after six months of going from doctor to doctor, with no diagnosis and no treatment.
