10316707 tn?1409253594 Hi...there are several conditions with very similar symptoms....so 1- request copies of your MRI and the report....2- get several opinions.... I have a condition with similar symptoms which is often misDX'd as MS but is more common then MS...but not as well known so finding Drs well informed and experienced is not always easy.... The thing is do not stress out as many of the conditions with these symptoms can flare when we stress out...so try to relax until you get more info....
1449434 tn?1284825919 I have heard that people have something called clonus that causes these kinds of symptoms. I have muscle jerking but not visibal to other people, well my SO (signifigant other) notices but people wouldn't notice unless they were really watching me. I know this isn't much help but I am sure others with chime in that experience the same thing.
1634864 tn?1300122958 I was wondering if anyone already diagnosed with MS experienced any of my symptoms. I have muscle spasms in my right shoulder witch leads to numbness and tingling in my arm. My right leg is also started to be affected. nausea and dizziness as well. Sometimes i get these sharp pains that feels like someone is stabbing me in my arm and legs. I have 4 bulging discs in my cervical spine & and annular tears on each of them.
5160872 tn?1385248794 yeppers, got that for sure. My legs go too, it is sometimes embarassing, don't you think? This is where people should NEVER judge a book by it's cover, I have been mistaken as "drunk" style behaviour with jerking, and funny walking. So, it isn't uncommon, and hope that you can get yours under wraps. I take Baclofen 40 mgs. per day, and it helps considerably with the jerking....
Avatar m tn Also, has anyone had muscle twitches with a diagnosis of MS? I hear it is not a sign of MS but have read patients with MS might experience them.
Avatar f tn What are your MS symptoms? Generalized head or facial "pressure" is not a typical MS symptom. If your MRI was two years ago and no lesions, I say your next step is another MRI (minimum 1.5 Tesla and 3 mm slices MS protocol.) If you don't have lesions, I doubt you will produce any bands in your CSF, so why do the LP? Even if you have bands with a negative MRI, you will not meet diagnostic criteria for MS.
Avatar f tn I have posted several times since October. For months, I have experienced jerking movements in my left side, waist up to head, that have now gotten very pronounced. Frequently, my legs tingle. Also, I often have feelings of pressure in my right eye. The dominant symptom, however, is a pronounced jerking that people are beginning to notice. Two EEG's are normal, extensive blood work and CAT scan as well. I cannot have an MRI due to pacemaker.
1329025 tn?1278334460 OK I have found out Baclofen and I don't get along. I started out after only 2 doses, 5mg at bed time two nights in a row and by the next morning I was having breathing difficultiefs. Well I continued to take it not knowing that was the problem. My neuro said after a couple days I could also take one in the Morn. I did and breathing got worse. Went to pcp and he did the hand held breathing test and gave me asthma meds. Continued the Baclofen only to have breathing worse.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your quick response. I did think maybe new symptoms from the ms.
398059 tn?1447945633 I covered all the symptoms with her from amnesia, memory difficulties, tiredness, brain fog, to jerking/flailing limbs. She says this sounds like I am having seizures. When I looked up MS and seizures and compared it to my symptoms it was a match. It is not a common thing. But, the articles did say that folks with MS tend to be more than twice as likely to have epileptic type seizures and memory loss.
2030446 tn?1361198897 First time posting here... One of my many symptoms are the jerks and jumps in my body, especially in my legs. I have to get the MRI this Friday Feb 22nd. I had an MRI before but my body does NOT like to sit still without the jerking here and there... my reason for stopping the first MRI... any ideas on how to keep myself still through this darn test?
1564608 tn?1295183064 After I read that my doctor took it as I had MS. My wife and I began doing research on MS and seen that the jerking spells I get really had nothing to do with MS nor was I having all the symptoms of MS. I seen 2 nero docs and both of seen no signs of MS. However one said I had Action Myoclonus and the other had said Myoclonus and seen some brain damage. But never elaberated on the damaged area.
443898 tn?1229700080 Lately, I have had increased fatigue, muscle weakness, jerking in my legs (more so while driving when I press the gas or brake pedal-not all the time only occasionally) the jerking also occurs at night. After activity, my legs also feel like rubber. I have began having daily headaches with tingling in my face and scalp. Additionally, at times, I have had severe itching to my arms and legs that is not relieved with hydrocortisone cream or benadryl.
Avatar f tn Im on valium soma percocet for pain as needed but at nite even still this jerking has started. I have a sis that has MS in remission and I am so ready to give up on living. Its enough i live with a spine deformity and in pain now i cant sleep my bidy isnt my OWN anymore! i cant control it. What is this?
152264 tn?1280354657 Saw neurologists in 1999-2003 for various odd symptoms (MS was initially suspected) but they ruled out MS via MRIs and office exams. They did find "highly abnormal" ABR on BOTH sides (hearing is normal on the right), plus abnormal acoustic reflex decay in left ear (following the line for "N. VIII disease") in the frequency they could test--namely, 500 Hz, to which point my left-side hearing is still normal--it drops way off at 750 Hz.
Avatar f tn Recently, while just falling asleep my jaw clamps shut so unexpectedly that I bite my tongue. It doesnt happen during the day, just when Im so relaxed. I also have jumpy, jerking legs, but this happens during the day too which I can cope with. Ive been on carbamazepine and this seems to have settled down the jumpy jerking legs thankfully . Im wondering if anyone has experienced this with their MS and why it is happening. The side of my tongue is so sore this morning.
Avatar f tn My last string was posted a while back when all my symptoms came back in late May. I have constant vertigo but not necessarily the spinning room type but visually and have balance issues. I started PT in June and it has helped the balance issues and now we are working on eye exercises to try and get my eyes to converge. I also have polyneuropathy in both my legs and have been diagnosed with a vestibular lesion in my right ear.
233622 tn?1279334905 Do the Symptoms of MS Interfere with Your Driving?" and it's at: http://www.msassociation.org/publications/fall06/driving.question.asp Also, around here there is a car dealership that advertises that it specializes in all sorts of mobility devices so you might ask around and see if there's a place like that near you. I don't know what to say about all the other stuff except that I understand why you're worried. I worry, too.
