Common Questions and Answers about Ms symptoms in feet

multiple-sclerosis

Avatar f tn So we think the symptoms are from the MS. My brother has MS too and had his diagnosis for over 10 years. I asked him did he get the numbness. He said yes, and everybodys MS was different with different episodal events. Im thinking now about a podiatrist to see if neuropathy is caused by another issue.
938363 tn?1245068241 With small fiber neuropathies, symptoms including burning or buzzing or other vague symptoms starting in the feet and hands then in some cases spreading to other parts of the body. The other type of sensory neuropathy is called a large fiber neuropathy. There are several categories of this type of neuropathy, and there are many many causes. Sensory neuropathies can involve just one nerve or several nerves in the body. The symptoms are sensory loss and if motor nerves are involved, weakness.
Avatar f tn I see people talk about foot pain, can you describe it for me, I have been having issues since 2007, Symptoms just started up again, The last time I have had any symptoms was in march. Except for some occations where I have had some blind spots in my eyes, but my feetand legs are a problem, the bottoms are killing me and it goes up the back of my legs.
Avatar n tn Just curious if this sounds like MS or something else. No real other symptoms other than hands and feet tingle and also the brain fog almost pressure feeling. 40 year old male. I appreciate everyone taking time to read and reply. Have a nice week all.
Avatar m tn I have been getting a tingling feeling in both feet after walking for 8- 10 minutes, the feeling extends up my leg to the thigh area. it started about 2 months ago. It occurs when I am walking on street, sidewalk or in stores and malls, I do not have any problem doing yard work cutting grass, putting down mulch. I went to the doctor and he has given me a neurologist to see, I will have a consultation but not until August.
Avatar n tn You need to check for any degenerative disc disease to rule out compressive neuropathy or bulging disc causing these symptoms. If the MRI spine rules out this, you will need an MS evaluation. MS is a chronic demyelinating disorder where the disease phase is characterized by active phase and remissions. It has multiple symptoms and signs and is a diagnosis of exclusion.
Avatar n tn Last saturday, my 12 year old daughter complained that her left cheek developed a "cracking" feeling, and began to hurt. Her opposite cheek began to hurt a minute later, and then her nose went numb. Within 5 minutes, she was fine. It happened again later that night. The following day, sunday, she complained about her cheeks going numb or hurting a couple of times throughout the day. She described the numbness as feeling like she doesn't have a cheek.
Avatar f tn I am having and have been having pain in the big joint of big toe of left foot is this related to MS or possible gout but it happens regularly when I again on my feet again for extended period of time or for consecutive days that is why I am leaning towards the MS.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome, I definitely wouldn't of thought of a neurological condition like MS, your symptoms are too wide spread, in all peripherals, way too short a time frame for MS to cause that many symptoms in one attack, your glands were also swollen and ears felt full.
Avatar f tn they ache/throb while laying in bed, also while laying in bed I cannot touch them (my feet) together, has anyone else had this? My Gp said, yes it a relapse/nerve pain?, anyone have any suggestions as to how to ease the pain, some days I can 'tollerate' the pain, other days they are BAD. I could 'handle' my other symptoms, but the feet are getting me down, making work difficult & just life in general :-( Also is it normal, that some days my feet seem not as bad??
Avatar f tn Bilateral is actually uncommon in the early stages of MS eg first attack but over time with each new attack, depending on where the new lesions end up, sx's can then start happening on the other side, though never symmetrically. Keep in mind that there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to MS, unilateral sx's are more common but bilateral will still happen. Cheers...........
Avatar f tn Since the MRI is inconclusive it only makes sense if there are symptoms of MS that a LP would be the next step in the search for an answer to your symptoms. If I were you I would look at the Health Pages which have been made available to all members and you will find them in the upper right hand corner of this page. If after looking at these pages you still have questions, feel free to post any questions here and someone will make every effort to help you ok?
Avatar f tn My first signs were dizziness, knife stabbing pain in my right temple and ear and then a TIA and completely dead on the right side of my body that lasted 6 hours-complete recovery and the 2nd TIA one month later to the day.
Avatar f tn After both hands being numb and tingly for a week, the Dr. ordered an MRI to check for lesions. In fact, the dr told me she didn't know what my symptoms could be but MS. The MRI was negative. That was almost two years ago. Since then, I've had numbness and other random ms symptoms here and there, but I never paid much attention because of the negative MRI. However, lately my lower legs and feet have been really freaking out. Painfully cold feet. Legs painful to touch.
Avatar n tn Hi Everyone. I guess I'm wondering what my level of worry should be at this point. The main symptom I'm concerned about is when I sit at my desk at work and often when I'm walking or jogging, I'll get a tingling, numbness sensation in the tips of my feet. The area is from the ball of both feet into all toes. It comes and goes for approx 1 month now. My problem is I have suffered health anxiety in the past for many years for which I took Aropax (Ant-depressant) for.
Avatar f tn I have the same tingling and vibrating sensations you're describing, and numbing up to the calves, in both feet. In my right leg, I have excruciating pain in the hip, which then travels down to the calf and ankle of the same leg and increases the pain and numbness in that leg. Yeah, I think the tingling and vibrating sensation and numbness is pretty common to MS. I also have numbness in my hands and electrical shocks up and down my left arm from fingers to neck at times.
Avatar f tn ( That said, yes, you can experience this in your feet and other places from MS. Here is a good health page on a potential reason: http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Multiple-Sclerosis/Paresthesias---Things-That-Go-BUZZ-in-the-Night/show/378?cid=36 But ,it is important to let the doctor determine if this is indeed from your MS. That way you are certain you are not experiencing something else that can be treated more effectively (i.e., let doc rule out sugar, steroid side effects, etc.
Avatar f tn My symptoms started last Dec. when my feet started tingling and I noticed that my pant legs felt different against my legs, like a colder feeling. Then in March the faciculations started in the calves of my legs. I don't have much pain other than the muscles just get really tired and weak and ache sometimes. My feet will fall asleep at times just by standing and my arms will go cold and clammy when I am reaching for something up high. It feels like I poured cold water on them.
233622 tn?1279334905 t have the shock so much in my toes, but have problems with the soles of my feet. Mostly, I have lots of pain in the bottoms of my feet--so much that I'm falling in the mornings (the unsteadiness doesn't help at all) when I get up and need to grab on to things to get to the bathroom. The tops of my feet are numb, though. The toe hanging up on the floor happens to me, sometimes. I'll trip over my feet because of it--but it's not a huge problem.
Avatar n tn Hello there, Welcome to the forum. We have some terrific people on here who can offer a wealth of knowledge about this disease. Your symptoms are things that can happen with MS, but they can be caused by other things as well. It's hard to classify MS symptoms sometimes, because it affects everyone differently. Congratulations on your pregnancy, and I know that must make this that much scarier. Just a few questions ... Have you talked to your doctor about your concerns?
1442701 tn?1286383987 Spinal tap was negativefor MS so went for another MRI with no change six months later. Symptoms had slacked off some. Last year vision in right eye suddenly became extremely blurred & opthmalagoist said bi-focals. Why one day difference? No answer. Eye pain too. Lately left foot is numb in toes over past few months & right foot feels like intermittent sliding/buzzing under it.
Avatar m tn Hi Matt - Yes, it is possible to experience symptoms in both hands. While not the norm, bilateral symptoms do occur. My first relapse was characterized by numbness in both feet, up to about mid shin. In recent posts you have said that you were told you had MS. Was this by your primary care doc? Have you had MRI, blood tests etc.? Your neuro will likely review existing test results. There will likely be some discussion of current symptoms as well as getting some historical info.
