763362 tn?1236624790 I have been referred to Physio and had an initial assesment where the consultant said that it looks like Degenerative Disc Disease, he said the only way to determine this better is by having an MRI scan, on going back to my G.P.
Avatar m tn A scan might be more helpful, you can get a CT scan that is less expensive and less bother than an MRI, I think your regular doc can order one for you. I've had X-rays before, and while they do show a lot, I was so surprised when years after I had tore up my foot somehow and X-ray said I was fine, I had a scan done of that same area as part of a body scan, and do you know they found fractures in my feet!!! No wonder it hurt so much!!!
Avatar f tn I went to all kinds of doctors I finally went to an oncology/gyno. She started treating me, sending c... for all kinds of ct scans, mri ect .....they would come back neg one month and positive with some kind of cyst. Anyway, she encouraged me to have a laproroscopy. I came out of surgery 6 hrs later. I had to have a bowel recetion ]n, my intestiness were cut and recectioned. That was two years ago. I started having pain on my pck. area.

Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.

Avatar m tn The next day I was in total agony with pain radiating down my legs, and pain located in both the lower and middle of my back. I went to hospital and had an MRI scan which showed a degenerated L4-L5 disc and bulging disc at L5-S1 with no neural compromise. The pain continued and I was referred to an orthopaedic surgeon, with my appointment taking several months for me to be seen. In September I was sent for another MRI scan due to continued pain and weakness/numbness in both feet and toes.
Avatar n tn I know your question is based on needing to know where to get a private MRI scan, which i am unsure of!! Maybe try finding some in your local directory? Best of luck!!!!

Avatar f tn i had an mri scan and was told i had a right A1 segment hypoplastic. what does this mean please?
900662 tn?1469390305 The techs have been very good at using pillows or cushions under my knees/legs during MRI scans to help relieve back stress. The scan time seemed different depending on where I had it done. I wonder if the newer machines can scan faster. I've had cervical and lumbar MRI but no thoracic MRI yet. Since the thoracic spine is the longest segment it would make sense that it would require more time to complete. Spinal MRI does use contrast if ordered, except for the lumbar region.
Avatar n tn I am getting back pain since last 1 year , My Doctor suggested to go for MRI scan MRI Scan details Evidence of small hyperintense of oval lesion is seen in L3 vertebral body Cyst/ Haemangioma Evidence of mild posterior annulus IV disk bulges of L3/L4 and L4/L5 are see causing mild thecal indentation anteriorly and lateral recess narrowing , causing neural compromise
Avatar m tn Burning sensation and other radiating leg pain are normally due to an impingement of the sciatic nerve in the lower back, and would usually show up on an MRI scan. A disc prolapse being the most usual. But as the sciatic nerve is the longest in the body it can be impinged anywhere along it's length, the piriformis muscle area being an alternative to lower back impingement. Check it out on google.
Avatar f tn Hi all. I recently had a back mri scan with the use of contrast dye as I had a discectomy November 2018 . I paid for the scan image on cd but haven’t had the results yet. Obviously I’m not medically trained so have no idea what the images look like however I wondered if anyone know what the few blobs are on a image that are next to the spine? As they came back as a white glow.
Avatar f tn I had a X-ray today and the doctor says my back is fine and suggested me to go for a MRI scan. Due to the cost of MRI scan, i am abit reluctant to go for it unless there is a problem with my back. I read the symptoms for Herniated Disc online. It says i will feel numbness on my back. But i don't feel any numbness at all. Pain there is, numbness nope. So Dr what do you think could be the reason for my back?
Avatar n tn i had mri scan of my brian 3 weeks ago and now want me to have another with the dye injected first . does this mean they have found somehing wrong ?
Avatar f tn Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.

956292 tn?1334054869 I felt like I had so much info handed to me for a change..WOW...I guess I will be shocked if I get a call back saying your fine at this point.....does that make any sense? I just want to get on with it and figure out what now? what do we do? I am furious with old doc but need to let that go.....I am guessing my doc will not WAIT to see me at appt. in June and will call with the results. Oh and by the way it was an open MRI..
