212753 tn?1275073111 I am sitting in the radiology waiting room waiting for my scan. Lucky for me they have a computer with internet as I forgot my book in the truck. It has been almost 45 minutes since I checked in and I am still wating waiting waiting.... I look very pretty today.Too bad they taking pictures of my outside instead of my insides. LOL I figugured I have radiated half of the waiting room by now. So I will give it another 10 minutes before I start haranging the receptionist.
Avatar f tn i had an mri scan and was told i had a right A1 segment hypoplastic. what does this mean please?
Avatar f tn He just basically told me it could have been a CIS and to schedule another MRI in 6 months to see what is going on. Having a hard to deal with waiting and the what if's . Is this a normal process ? Having a hard time staying calm. Anyone have any advice on how to handle it?
Avatar f tn Thank you! I will post the MRI results in a couple weeks (scan is a week away). I was trying to come up with strategies if the MRI didn't show anything obvious. The neurologist worried me a bit because he seemed concerned that it may not and wasn't sure where to go if it wasn't conclusive. But I guess its still wait and see time. 6 weeks and counting!
Avatar f tn Calcifications *in general* can indicate cancer. However, "could represent" isn't necessarily clear. The waiting is not a fun thing. Believe me, *I know*! But it is somewhat necessary... And thyroid cancer, in general, is VERY slow growing. So the waiting is not only necessary, but not that big of a deal. Just an FYI though... *I* am that sister who just "got a clean bill of health too. TT for thyroid cancer in Sept '07 via unrelated CT scan in August.
Avatar n tn They can however, detect mental illness such as scitzophreneia which i know because i was diagnosed through an MRI. The only mental illness an MRI scan able detect is an actually different brain connections than that of a normal brain. Ive had one done for mental illess! Can you describe some of your symptoms, what you feel and how often yolou feel it? I know your question is based on needing to know where to get a private MRI scan, which i am unsure of!!
Avatar f tn I am now waiting for my results from my mri scan and feel like its taking forever even though its only been a week. Can't stop thinking about it. Does anyone know roughly how long it will take to get the results in the uk?
Avatar n tn I have heard that most bone metastasis from breast cancer are osteolytic and might not show up well on a bone scan. Is this true? I have been having pain in my pelvis and my family doctor ordered an MRI of my lower spine which was normal, but told me that an MRI of my pelvis was overkill. The pain has has not gone away and I cannot get in to see my oncologist for another month. I feel like I have "cried wolf" so many times with aches and pains that the doctors brush me off now.
Avatar m tn hi, just wanted to let you know that i have just had an MRI on the NHS, took about 6 weeks to get the scan and so far it has been 3 weeks waiting for results...sometimes i think the waiting is worse!!!! I have been on the phone to my neuro's secretary and have been told that i should have some idea of the results tomorrow (only what she will be able to tell me over the phone!!
Avatar f tn I have had numerous tests like no contrast MRI, EMG of the lower spine CT scan but yet no answers. My regular primary Dr ordered me a quad cane because when she saw how bad my balance was she said I didn't know you've gotten this bad. she called it a drunken stagger gait.If I don't use the cane I will be into walls or furniture, I mean I literally fall over sideways or forwards.Neuro is running so many tests and keeps saying MS but nothing DX yet.
Avatar f tn At my follow-up with my GP today, he asked if they discussed the abnormalities in my CT scan. It seems there is a lump in my left breast. My gp has ordered a mamo, ultrasound and mri. I am 50 years old and my last mamo was 13 months ago. How worried should I be?
13766472 tn?1431393364 I would wait on your Dr. visit and let him or her tell you what it means, reason I say this is because the statement here, "It is of a questionable acute significance." Basically means the person reading the MRI is leaving it up to your Dr to make the determination of its significance.
Avatar m tn I have had sporadic night sweats and a feeling of discomfort if not pain below my left ribs, my abdomen has hurt a little recently and Ive lost 25 pounds since April. My armpits hurt a bit at times but no obvious lumps are there. Ive got a CT scan in 9 days, the hospital doctor who arranged this did so because he could not find a lump in the swelling at the time but was uneasy about what I told him. I feel stiff in my neck at times and alcohol causes a hot but fairly minor sort of pain.
Avatar m tn So, not so much a "common bile duct" as an 'extension-of-the-hepatic-duct' duct. The third paragaph of the link I posted lists a number of reasons the CBD could be dilated, but most of those are way more dilated than you are (i.e. twice the diameter = four times the cross sectional area). Good luck with the results of your cat scan.
Avatar f tn I went and saw my family doctor about my migraines and he decided to refer me to a neurologist and asked that I get a CT scan. While waiting for the neurologist to get to me, now the nurse calls me and say that I need a MRI before going to see the neurologist. There was no mention of the MRI prior to this phone call and I wanted to make sure that this is necessary. I don't have money to waste! ;) Doesn't a MRI and CT scan basically do the same thing?
Avatar f tn How did/does everyone deal with all the waiting and more waiting between every move that's made? i started with symptoms (well actually started taking notice) late last year and went to my GP at the end of December. He did his round of basic tests, bloods, urine, vaginal swabs, then when they came back clear, referered me for an ultra sound so had to wait for that appointment.
Avatar m tn I have the same thing going on right now no stones, CT and MRI clear but HIDA scan showed severe Bilary Dyskinesia (slow gallbladder) did they do anything for you? Are you hvaing pain, Nausea, vomitting? My GI told me to stay away from alcohol as it will make the pain worse, guess it has to do with the filtering through liver.. not sure I am just obeying as I dont want to add anymore pain. I am now waiting for new GI and a possible biliary manometry depends what she says.
Avatar f tn My CA125 test keeps rising. I am one and a half years out from chemo (cistplatin) and radiation (internal/external) for 2 months and 3 months of taxol and carboplatin for stage IIIC endometrial cancer. My score has gone from 30 in November to 72 a month ago. I just had another blood draw today. My gyn oncologist watches me very carefully and I've had a bone scan, MRI, CTscan, chest xrays and other blood tests. Everything comes out clean. Should I request a PET scan?
Avatar f tn He offered to start DMD now but we talked and agreed that waiting a short period of time to do another MRI was at my comfort level. So, I have one this coming Tuesday and I am so nervous about it. I have had 5 already so I'm not sure what my problem is with this one...maybe that this is the "last" test that will either confirm or keep me in limbo land. Good luck to you. I hope you find someone who listens and does not count you out because you had a negative LP!
Avatar f tn labs have been normal w/ exception of B12 deficiency (under treatment w/ monthly injection, hypothyroidism~levels normal x 2yrs treated w/levoxyl) only other abnormal has been elevated c reactive protein which has remained minimally elevated for 2 yrs. and multiple white matter lesions on brain mri. past mri (2005) had no lesions. h/o migrains x18yrs, controlled hypothyroidism, b12 anemia, mrsa infection 2008, gallbladder removal 1992, h/o ovarian cysts. 46yrs old.
Avatar f tn cervix removed 20 years ago. My CA125 was normal ( 9.9) Trans vaginal ultra sound appeared normal. MRI and nuclear bone scan normal. The pain in my low back and pelvis is gone (just the post-op pain now which is nothing compared to what I was experiencing!) I feel sooooo much better already. I am 54 years old and am just waiting and wondering about the biopsy report now on my ovaries.I am certain all the problems I was experiencing was related to my ovaries...
