mri-scan

Avatar m tn I had a MRI from the hospital and got a CD, which has a viewer and images. Dr. showed me the pancreatic tumors (about 15 cysts) on the computer screen. I tried it on my computer, but I could not see very clearly, I have two computer with the display resolution of 1440x900 and 1920x1080. Higher resolution showed better images, but still less quality than what I saw in the Dr's office. To see the better images, what do I need ? Better viewer software or better resolution display ?

907968 tn?1292622204 f I asked this question here or on a completely different site. I do remember that nobody knew the answer... I had a CT scan of the area between the brain and the inner ear. The Dr. showed me the results on his computer and showed me the problem I have. I'd like to get a copy of all this but don't know what application would be needed to view the scanns. Any idea's? Suggestions, Comments?
Avatar n tn Hey all! I posted a while back about my MRI lesions. Tricare still has me waiting on my approval to see Neuro. I did however get the imaging place to give me my MRI on CD. I am trying to view it and can't! It is on eFilm Lt. Anyone now how to get it to play? Help!
Avatar f tn I have two mri cd's.. Can I view them myself, and do I view it on a computer or in a dvd player?? I know this must sound dumb, but I don't want to ruin them by trying to view them myself.
1453990 tn?1329231426 OK. Lots of folks are asking me to look at MRIs that are saved as .JPG files in the photos section. It is much more complicated than just looking at a picture. DICOM images that come out of the scanners need to have their "window" and "level" manipulated in a DICOM viewer. Think of this as the brightness (level) and contrast (window) on your TV set. For you computer folks, Mamography and digital x-ray come put as 12 Bit images (4096 gray scale levels.
Avatar f tn Any recommendations as to who I might be able to see to get answers? Here is a link to my mri images on med dream viewer if you want to see them. Thank you for any information. Dicomlibrary.com/meddream/?study=1.3.6.1.4.1.44316.6.102.1.20220606172553110.
1749417 tn?1331996992 The problem is that no one can really read JPG images. MRI images have to be windowed and leveled in a DICOM viewer. Many people think they see UBOs, but most of the time, the "bright white" objects are normal anatomy. Finding the lighter "smudges" in the white matter areas of the brain is like hunting for Waldo. Once you MRI is read, we may be able to help translate it into something that looks like English.
293157 tn?1285873439 I think so. I have a Mac with OS10 and downloaded a free program from Osrix. Here is the link: http://www.osirix-viewer.com/ It is for research use only and not meant to be "an official viewer" but I think it works well. The MRIs on my profile here were taken from this software. It takes a little getting used to as there are a lot of buttons for viewing and stuff. I figured out most of it so if you need help let me know :D Except how to read the films.
Avatar f tn i have attached pics of the lesions on MRI. Do you think that by looking at these, you could say 100% sure there is no MS??
Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
Avatar n tn They can however, detect mental illness such as scitzophreneia which i know because i was diagnosed through an MRI. The only mental illness an MRI scan able detect is an actually different brain connections than that of a normal brain. Ive had one done for mental illess! Can you describe some of your symptoms, what you feel and how often yolou feel it? I know your question is based on needing to know where to get a private MRI scan, which i am unsure of!!
Avatar n tn my wife had a mri scan on her neck the result came back as follows mri on the C- spine showd minor degenerative changes with a normal spinal cord there disc lesion at C6/C7 which corrugates the postrior longitudinal ligament by the spinal cord .

763362 tn?1236624790 I have been referred to Physio and had an initial assesment where the consultant said that it looks like Degenerative Disc Disease, he said the only way to determine this better is by having an MRI scan, on going back to my G.P.

Avatar f tn I have recently had an MRI scan and the report has indicated that I have a L5/S1 circumferential disc bulge whih displaces the exiting L5 nerve roots bilaterally.. On the left this effaces the perineural fate and contacts the L5 nerve root. A neurosurgeon has apparently reviewed my scan and said there is no evidence of this disc bulge without even seeing me and suggested tertherd cord syndrome should be investigated..
Avatar f tn Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.
