ve got a good neuro now from UBC MS clinic in Vancouver. I will discuss a t-spine scan when i see him next in May. My next MRI is in March, but it was arranged by my old neuro, so I'm sure it won't include t spine shots. Actually, being from BC Canada, it's not my money, at least not dirrectly.

Candy, I'm trying to find the right words to be of help to you, but I'm kinda tangled up in other things right now. I just want to say that as a fellow BCer and patient of the UBC MS clinic I'm hopeful you'll get the answers (again) that you need. We're all on your side, most likely even the doctors who are causing you all this confusion are too. And to answer your question, I agree with others who have stated NO.

The MRV was done in a 3T MRI machine. It took about 1 1/4 hours to complete the scan, with dye being injected through intervenous for the last few minutes. The scan felt a little tighter than other MRI's I've had, due to a piece of hardware that clips on about an inch from your face, and something they place on your chest which kind of holds your chin still.

Heh guys, I just wanted to say, that I am Happy and Sad about my appt. in Vancouver. I got what we wanted, we do have RRMS , and YES they have put me on Copaxone, and I start it when the nurse will come and help up learn what to do. So, we are happy, but sad that now we have to do the needle thing, and a little apprehensive that it might not work. So, we will wait and see. The Dr. told me it could take 6-9 months to see if it will work, so we are praying it will be ok....

2 and a half years ago (in Vancouver) I was told that I had a bone spur lodged in my sinal cord and after much testing was told I could have it surgicallt removed. Now, here in Ottawa, I had another MRI done and here are the results. (my doc says "nothing we can do for you except offer you pain meds). Really? I have three little children to take care of and cannot do that jacked up on pain meds all day long. Is there ANYONE with a different opinion from my doctor?

I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.

They can however, detect mental illness such as scitzophreneia which i know because i was diagnosed through an MRI. The only mental illness an MRI scan able detect is an actually different brain connections than that of a normal brain. Ive had one done for mental illess! Can you describe some of your symptoms, what you feel and how often yolou feel it? I know your question is based on needing to know where to get a private MRI scan, which i am unsure of!!

my wife had a mri scan on her neck the result came back as follows mri on the C- spine showd minor degenerative changes with a normal spinal cord there disc lesion at C6/C7 which corrugates the postrior longitudinal ligament by the spinal cord .

Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.

I have been referred to Physio and had an initial assesment where the consultant said that it looks like Degenerative Disc Disease, he said the only way to determine this better is by having an MRI scan, on going back to my G.P.

I have recently had an MRI scan and the report has indicated that I have a L5/S1 circumferential disc bulge whih displaces the exiting L5 nerve roots bilaterally.. On the left this effaces the perineural fate and contacts the L5 nerve root. A neurosurgeon has apparently reviewed my scan and said there is no evidence of this disc bulge without even seeing me and suggested tertherd cord syndrome should be investigated..

Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.
