Avatar n tn Doc said my daughter can continue with her normal life because this don’t have any side effects to her or nothing to worry about it. Can it possibly just go away without surgery? I am terrified of future problems. He has headaches only occasionally. I don't want this cyst diagnosis to cause my son to miss out on a happy life.
Avatar n tn My headaches were checked with a brain MRI contrast scan and the scan was normal. .Bloods fine and glaucoma eye test as well. I understand the ongoing fatigue, however the headache continues with no abatement.I have tried medicine for migraine as well as traditional non steroid meds and prednesone.I have no history of any headaches. The headache feels like a constant squeeze around my head.No pounding or sharp pain exists however they persist. My doctor says this is not associated with radiation??
Avatar n tn The other day I had a new symptom that was a sore throat pain in underneath of jaw and behind my ear. Anyway, someone told me the headache was a side effect of gabbapentin but the headache has always been present even before I started medication. The headache is constant and unrelenting. I have had MRI and cat scan and they were normal. Dr thinks my TN came from mastoiditis that I had. I also had a fall where I fell and hit the right side of head. Any insights on headache and tn in general.
Avatar n tn i have had headache for at least a year now, only on my left side of the head. Feel like my eye ache then my temple and ear, all on the left side. Seen a eye ear nose throat specialist. Had a cat scan, came back negative.
Avatar f tn Well, yes there will be horror stories of contrast creating reactions, but they are not co common. An average man usually can undergo the contrast MRI without any side effects. Also, it provides very useful information about the brain structures, tumors, infarcts etc which could be missed on simple/plain MRI. Headaches after a brain injury can also be due to concussion, and normally CT and MRI are normal. However, yes, MRI should be done to rule out brain injury as the cause.
Avatar n tn Hello, Numbness on one side of the brain along with headache, more with movement of the neck can be due to whiplash injury or cervical spodylosis. Diagnosis can be confirmed by X-ray, CT or MRI of the head and neck. You can use anti-inflammatory painkillers like ibuprofen, paracetamol. Muscle relaxants, or narcotics will also help. Use of soft cervical collars is also helpful. A good posture may help. Brace your shoulders slightly backwards, and walk 'like a model'.
Avatar n tn It is my understanding that the CAT scan can not pick up certain things and I am concernd about a tumor being missed because I can not obtain an MRI. Can you please comment on the differences between a CAT scan and an MRI and how concerned I should be about not being able to obtain an MRI? Can you suggest the best way to proceed with getting a diagnosis given the complications of having a defibrillator?
Avatar f tn Prednisone may cause side effects such as headache, dizziness, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, extreme changes in mood, extreme tiredness, increased sweating. Some side effects can be serious like irregular heartbeat , vision problems, loss of contact with reality, confusion and numbness, burning, or tingling in the face, arms, legs, feet, or hands. Inform your doctor about your symptoms as soon as you can. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn My main complaint is headache (primarily forehead and temple area and pain in the middle of the scalp) from last 2 years with no other side effects. When headacke comes, the area around the eyes and ears also getting pain. In the day time I am feeling sleepy and lot of yawning. When I consulted the Orthopedic doctor, he diagnosed mild servical spondylosis after taking X ray.
Avatar f tn Sounds like a migraine to me. Another possibility is that you have TMJ on your right side, and that's what is creating the pain. I would see your doc and get an MRI/CT scan first, and talk about whether or not it's migraine. If it's decided that it's NOT migraine, then maybe you should make an appointment with your dentist to talk about it possibly being TMJ.
Avatar f tn too hard, too soft, etc.. You also may need to have an MRI, which will tell them more than the CT scan. Good luck. Headaches are not fun and can be very debilitating. You are wise to want answers instead of pills. Don't let them put you off; ask for answers, and a neurologist is a good place to start since your own doctor hasn't pursued it further.
Avatar m tn I was in a bad car accident a month ago . I had a concussion and get dizzy and headache all night long exspecially when I turn side to side. because I can"t get comfortable because I hurt my right shoulder and broke my wrist too. looking for any suggestion . I'm still going to my neuro , ortho also my family doctor . this is very depressing .
Avatar n tn actually i was having headache on left side of my head so i went for 2 d mri myself........................now i want to know should i go for ct scan also?????????????
Avatar n tn Her intern then diagnosed her with Cluster Headaches and put her on Topamax but she could not tolerate the side effects. Now , 6 weeks later, she is having some tingling with the headache--at the base of spine and also down her arms and legs (no numbness). She is trying to get in to see a neurologist and get a cat scan or MRI. What do you think is going on. She is in excellent health beside this new problem and takes no daily meds.
Avatar n tn I get cluster headaches EVERY day & migraines at least 2-3 times a week. I can't have an mri because of an implant,so I'm going for a ct scan. One year ago they were only "tension" headaches & now they are blinding. My neurologist gave up & said "just migraines" not to treat them any more because of 1 missed payment & dismissed me. Another doctor found the clusters & put me on oxygen, but they come back soon after I stop.
Avatar n tn The headache pain is only on the right side. This pain is always there but it does vary intensity. He has Mri, Cat scan. The mri did show some legions on the spinal cord. The doctor thought maybe MS. He also has had some numbness and tingle. The headcahe are getting worse and effecting his peace of mind Help.
Avatar m tn Any exercise causes muscular pain in my neck and shoulder area and elevates the headache. I have also had MRI scans on both head and neck with revealed no abnormality. Blood tests are good apart from slightly high readings around the Liver. Just previously to the start of this I had an extremely hard poke to the eye and a shunt up the back of a go-kart.
Avatar m tn - during the scan I felt a tickling sensation in the eyelids - after the scan I felt dizzy and confused for several hours - had a big headache that same day (usually I do not get headaches) - the skin around eyes felt burning for several days, eventually seems to subside - inability to sleep. for multiple days after the scan I tried various methods to sleep without success: ibuprofen, magnesium calm formula, melatonin, teas, no screens, etc...
Avatar m tn Hi, Thank you for your question. For persistent headaches, possibilities like migrainous, cluster, tension, pinched nerve in cervical spine and refractive errors that need to be evaluated thoroughly with the help of a neurologist here. Migraine like headache can be throbbing, one sided of face & head and preceded by aura (starts with blurred vision). Cluster headache may appear as burning, explosive in nature and tear appears from eyes.
4084741 tn?1350808485 What are "non-specific" black spots on brain from a MRI scan mean? I do have my MRI disc but unsure how to post it here if that wld help. I finally got diagnosed with migraines with aura last year after a MRI scan without contrast. The neurologist spent a few mins lookin at them before my visit and that's what he told me. He wasn't very communicative nor helpful. He did want to do more tests but I moved back home to Texas.
459111 tn?1250038308 He has had a slighty headache last couple of days above his left temple and then moves to right eye. But prior to Mri Scan 15 months ago he did have left side temple headache above ear thats why scan was ordered.
Avatar m tn The next day, I still had the headache so I made an appointment to get the ct scan done. The headache had gone away by the time I got in but I went in anyway. They found a 25mm by 30mm tumor in the posterior fosser with a differential diagnosis of acoustic neuroma, ependymoma or meningioma. They also said it was very slow growing and most likely benign. Ever since I have had more and more questions and have been searching the internet when I came across this forum.
988694 tn?1332359479 the neuro did not request a CT scan nor a MRI. I have had one MRI before in my life and everything was perfect. I have had more than 10 CT scans in the past and one doctor told me that was too much (radiation). However, I have not had one in the last two or three years. It is good that something works for you. I cancelled my appointment with the neuro, but I made another one just because I would like to have a CT scan done before taking anything, not sure if he will agree.
Avatar f tn Hello... while a CT may be scary, it should be fine. Migraines can also be treated by abortives - medications that are taken daily and then medications for the headache when it gets bad, but the headaches should not be as bad when you are on an abortive medication. B12 is a hard thing to raise - sometimes you are low in intrinsic factor - so you may need to use patches instead of pills if you cannot use shots.
Avatar n tn I would wake up in the morning with pain in my head and with the same sensation when I moved my head from side to side, and my ears still had the full feeling as though I had been on an airplane, a very clogged feeling where I felt like I needed to yawn to pop my ears, yet it would still not clear. So, I called the Dr. went back again, I then had zithromax which is obviously a stonger antibiotic.
