mri-scan

Avatar n tn Doc said my daughter can continue with her normal life because this don’t have any side effects to her or nothing to worry about it. Can it possibly just go away without surgery? I am terrified of future problems. He has headaches only occasionally. I don't want this cyst diagnosis to cause my son to miss out on a happy life.
Avatar n tn My daughter who is 18 had been choked about 3 to 4 time in nov-dec-jan and at the end of jan had a seizure. a mri-eeg and ct scan and all blood work was normal. She has fallen 3 times, and now has had a totol of falls and seizures 6 in total. The neru doc has not heard of this game. she was not playing it, but her ex bf played it with a ex and would grab her by the throat. The neru doc is now saying the seizure are due to migraines, which she has never had before.and has put her on topamax.

281209 tn?1209385426 I had a TT for papillary carcinoma in 7/07. I had a 30% uptake in my thyroid scan and they gave me 21mCi I-131 to bring down the dose. I just received my second dose (220mCi) last week, and expected nominal side effects. I've felt terrible since then. Loss of taste, overall nausea, etc. Anyone else go through this? My docs didn't mention anything about side effects (besides the normal salivary glands swelling). How long should I expect to feel this way?
Avatar f tn Weird skin sensation now like tingling and also some shaking. Maybe the shaking from anxiety? Just afraid of contrast side effects. Any side effects from MRI dye that warrant a ER trip?
Avatar n tn My headaches were checked with a brain MRI contrast scan and the scan was normal. .Bloods fine and glaucoma eye test as well. I understand the ongoing fatigue, however the headache continues with no abatement.I have tried medicine for migraine as well as traditional non steroid meds and prednesone.I have no history of any headaches. The headache feels like a constant squeeze around my head.No pounding or sharp pain exists however they persist. My doctor says this is not associated with radiation??
Avatar n tn what side effects from thyrogen shots? I had pill uptake in Feb. my cancer is back, stage 3 pap. I got extremely sick from the pill, hopefully not so much from the injections. This discussion is related to Cancer's back, alternative treatment to going off synthroid?.
Avatar m tn I did and felt terrible again (having been told yet again that there are virtually no side effects with Gadolinium). Has anyone else had similar side effects with Gadolinium or is it just me?
Avatar f tn Well, yes there will be horror stories of contrast creating reactions, but they are not co common. An average man usually can undergo the contrast MRI without any side effects. Also, it provides very useful information about the brain structures, tumors, infarcts etc which could be missed on simple/plain MRI. Headaches after a brain injury can also be due to concussion, and normally CT and MRI are normal. However, yes, MRI should be done to rule out brain injury as the cause.
Avatar f tn I just googled Avastin side effects are there are many sites that have lots of info on there. Also, you could google the manufacturer or ask your oncology center for some fact sheets.... Just a thought.
763362 tn?1236624790 I have been referred to Physio and had an initial assesment where the consultant said that it looks like Degenerative Disc Disease, he said the only way to determine this better is by having an MRI scan, on going back to my G.P.
462771 tn?1358355843 Hi Jason, Avonex was not an option for me from my neuro so I went with copaxone, a daily injection of a totally different type drug with no side effects. I passed on the Rebif because it has the same side effects as avonex, but is injected three times a week. If avonex, with its once a week injection had been an option I would have seriously considered it instead of the copax.
1545021 tn?1322477485 Usually contrast is given if there is a history of tumor, cancer or surgery, infection or inflammation, to evaluate blood vessels and to investigate a finding on the pre contrast part of the scan. Though MRI contrast is safer than that of CT, the common side effects possible are allergic reactions, flushing, hives, shortness of breath etc. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn Well, loss of balance, slurred speech, loss of memory and disorientation are not known side effects of Bonista injection, so in a way the neurologist was correct. However, if the symptoms are reappearing with the injections, then yes, there could be a connection, or the injection is causing these symptoms due to some drug interactions, if the patient is on other drugs. Do discuss this with your mother's doctor. Take care!
1457748 tn?1317575165 Just for info, she is also on topomax...just curious if you have any thoughts on it. WHat sort of side effects have you folks had? my daughter is still suffering with a spinal headache from her tap, but I wonder if this medication is contributing at all...sorry I am all over the place here, but if you can shed a light on this for me I would appreciate it. Not fair that Doc no longer do their job for patients! THanks guys!
Avatar n tn I am curious, those of you who have had surgery for CM1 what are some of the side effects you are or have dealt with? My Neurologist was telling me about one patient who after surgery anytime she hits a bump in the road she becomes disoriented. So I am just trying to find out what other side effects there are. Thank you all for you help!
Avatar f tn If you are experiencing bothersome side effects, you might ask your doctor to change you to another TCA -- nortriptyline. People sometimes have less drowsiness and dry mouth with nortrip instead of amitrip. After a disc protrusion (not a herniation, which is worse), disc material can reabsorb on its own or move away from the site of nerve impingement, leaving you feeling much better. This can take up to 18 months.
