Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan pictures

mri-scan

Avatar f tn CT uses radiation to make these pictures and MRI uses magnetic field.... which one is better ? definitely MRI without "gandolinium" contrast-- pictures are sharp and tumors are well defined and it's SAFE. All contrasts CT or MRI are hard on your kidneys...but your doctor will tell you that " benefits will outweigh the risk". Google gandolinium and read about pros and cons of using it and same for CT contrast.
Avatar n tn When having a Hida scan, Do you lay in a machine such as the one of an MRI or what?
Avatar f tn I have had several test ,including a small bowel follow tru, gastric emptying, upper GI, endoscopy, colonoscopy, MRI and HIDA scan. and the only test that showed anything abnormal at all was the gastric emptying and the doctor said it was delayed in emptying but that this was not my problem. is it possible for the MRI and HIDA scan to be normal and it still be my Gallbladder? has this happened to anyone else.
1749417 tn?1331996992 I have posted a couple of pictures of my mri ,could someone please look at them and tell me what you see. If i did them right they are in my profile....
Avatar f tn http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_resonance_imaging The above link tells you pretty much everything you didn't want to know about MRIs. I had a brain MRI one time, I had to be sedated because I was afraid of it, they even have a little mirror in there so you can see out of it, sort of claustrophobic in the machine, and they had a microphone and radio in there so I could talk to the techs. When the machine started up, it was VERY loud, surprised me, kind of made a bumping racket.
Avatar m tn A magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) is a type of magnetic resonance image (MRI) scan that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to provide pictures of blood vessels inside the body
2699259 tn?1344210945 t show on all the scans and one vein thats very squiggly looking, other then that it seems normal to me (comparing pictures of a normal scan). Any thoughts on this?
Avatar f tn The leveling refers to the contrast of black versus white. The IACs were not seen well on the pictures you gave me. As the scan is electronic, this can be adjusted using software. The normal variant of sigmoid sinus and jugular bulb is the way that you have always been, and is not the source of your problems. This area enhances because it is a vascular structure and the contrast is being shown on the MRI. Hope this helps!
338416 tn?1420045702 Check my personal space for pictures of my spinal MRI. As expected, they are grainy and hard to read, especially since I have no idea what I'm looking at. I can look at these, though, and see stuff that looks like it's not supposed to be there. And stuff that's there that shouldn't be there. Thoracic #2 Two patchy areas of lighter gray (indicated by arrows) Thoracic #1 Two bright areas that look like lesions at the dorsal area of the cord.
Avatar m tn Hi Joey, Welcome to the forum. To be honest, I'm not really sure which scan is better, but I believe they are used for different things. I personally only had CT scans when I went through my Lymphoma diagnosis and I'm sure there was is a good reason for that. Did your doctor indicate a problem reading the scan? I'm just wondering why you are doubting its accuracy.
Avatar f tn For me it was for ARVD (Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia) an inherited heart disease, but it's used to dx alot of heart conditions. During the mri, your arms are by your side and they wrap you up so you don't move, if I had been prepared I may have tolerated the test a bit better. I was in the hospital already and the tech was late and ticked he had to come in to do another test - he was the only one who could do it, so he was really obnoxious.
Avatar f tn If it is anything like a CT scan with contrast - the waiver form for the dye injection had too many side effects listed so don't read the fine print. Did feel a slight warm sensation when dye was injected. If you are not claustrophobic to begin with it's not a big deal...CT scan only lasted 15 minutes. Just relax when they do it.

4536442 tn?1358820448 Hey everyone just wondering when you should have a 3D scan?
Avatar n tn I am surprised they didnt do an ultrasound, CT scan or MRI before the HIDA? Usually they wont een do a HIDA scan til then...
Avatar f tn My 20 week anatomy scan was pretty lengthy. The tech took lots of pictures and measurements of all my baby boys organs such as heart, brain, and stomach. She all made sure all his limbs and digits were present and intact. She also looked at his facial features such as his nose and mouth. He was in the right position at the time for me to find out its a boy. My husband and I enjoyed sitting there for an hour and staring at the screen seeing him move about.
Avatar f tn Any way to tell? I have a cd with the MRI pictures on it at home. The CT scan was high resolution because they were looking for a problem with my superior semicircular canal, but that scan indicated the superior semicircular canal seems to be just fine.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know why this could be happening and if I should get an mri or ct scan done? I also get migraines mostly after doing any type of strenuous activity with back neck and head pain. Please help.
Avatar m tn I had my CT Scan this morning and you guys taught me well - I snagged a copy of the scan on CD before I left. I have looked at the scan and I believe that I can see the my lesion on T3.... Is this possible.... However, the boneheads didn't use contrast and I argued with them about it. I believe that I will need to go back. The purpose was to look at a place in my lungs.
