1831846 tn?1318378596 on the 18th of this month, where I will be demanding an MRI and referral to a specialist. But the CT scan states no evidence of intracranial hemorrhage, ventricular system is normal in size and configuration, withough evidence of hydrocephalus. No discrete parenchymal masses nor evidence of mass effect. There is a slight inferior displacement of the cerebellar tonsils, suggesting a mild chiari 1 malformation. No extra-axial blood or fluid collections are identified.

Avatar n tn Is an endoscopy the gold standard for a sinus evaluation or could a CT scan or MRI inspect areas that the scope cannot reach? This symptions seem to indicate an infection.
Avatar f tn I was first bitten by a tick with a bulls eye rash when I was about 12. I am currently being tested for Lyme Disease so I haven't been diagnosed yet. I go to an ENT because I have had severe sinus infections most of my life. They all seem to have started since I was teenager.
2202709 tn?1338755799 Bubbles, I would call the doc's office and let them know it says ct scan instead of MRI. MRI's are needed for MS findings. It could be a mix up or they may have a reason for ct scan. I've had a sinus ct scan to find cyst etc.but the brain and c-spine was both MRI's. Still lifting you in prayer and best of wishes for answers.
Avatar f tn I have been having a great deal of head pressure in the back, side and top of my head ever since a sinus infection 2 months ago. I had 2 full weeks of antibiotics, and my headaches left for a short time, but a sensation of fullness stayed in my left ear. This has caused me to feel off balance, and foggy headed, like I may pass out at times. I just had an MRI and CT of the sinuses that says I have mild mucosal thickening of the sphenoid sinuses and a mild septal deviation.
Avatar f tn Had a MRi and the diagnosis was sinus disease Have never heard of it before. I have had lots of sinus headaches and problems for several years but this is the worst What can I do to take care of this problem?? is antibiotics the answer?? Please help is there a solution to this problem? Do I need to go to a specialist???
Avatar n tn My recent MRI scan result after 2 years on mifepristone (RU486) shows a slight decrease in the size of my tumour. ALSO some clincial trials using the drug have resulted in improvements to vision in some patients. The optic nerve runs through the cavernous sinus and surgery in that area generally results in permanent deficits to eyesight.
Avatar m tn I've had tinnitus now for 6 months. It all started when I did a few lines of cocaine in November of 2007. Shortly after I developed serious sinus problems where I had major swelling on the inside of my nose along with pain on the bridge. And then........I woke up with ringing in my ears 1 1/2 weeks later. The ringing got louder as the sinus problems continued. Short of 3 sinus infections to date I really don't have too much to complain about with my sinuses.
464761 tn?1206812846 I had a CT scan of my sinuses that showed something..I had sinus surgery about 8 yrs ago..and during the surgery she found a small polyp or cyst..and she left it there and said it was nothing to worry about..she couldn't reach it....and I still have sinus issues...
Avatar f tn As a totally unrelated issue, I did have a complete brain MRI in Sept of last year--they were diagnosing migraines, and wanted to rule out anything else. That was completely clear--otherwise I might be thinking neurological too.... its just so strange...and I hate it!
1334998 tn?1300674856 findings mri of the sella pit was performed in the sagittal , axial and coronal projectionsutilizing mutiple pulse imaging sequences. The Pituitary appears to be within the upper limitsof normal in size.A partially empty sella defority is demonstrated . No discrete pituitary mass is noted. The stalk is midline in locationand the optic chiasm is unremarkable. Impression: Findings consistent with partial empty sella deformity. No definitive evidence for a pituitary mass.
468973 tn?1212323520 Its walls are thus defined by the epithelium of a mucous gland and duct itself, not by the walls of the sinus. There is almost always air still surrounding the retention cyst, and bony expansion and remodeling of the sinus does not often occur. They are .........incidental findings in at least 10% of people." In your case, the sphenoid sinus cyst may not be clinically significant. At the same time, these cysts are known to bring on headache.
Avatar m tn I've seen an ENT recently. CT scan of sinus was clear. I do have a deviated septum, however. Also, I've had a slight dislocation of my jaw.
Avatar m tn I just had an MRI on my eye due to pain.It ended up being a minor sinus issue. There was also mention of an "Artifact" on a single slice of the MRI. They have suggested a full brain scan as a precautionary measure. My Doctor say this is common and there is absolutely nothing wrong with me (no tumour or cancer) and I have no need to worry. Should I be? Could it be a tumor even thought it was only on 1 slice?
Avatar m tn With help from one of the kid from Indonesia, im totally cured. This boy got 6 sense, and he could see through my body system, at that time i had a severe migraine and sinus as well, one of my friend told me about him, i tried to contact that boy, and he asked me to send my video from head to toe and the video doesn't last for more than 2 hours.
Avatar m tn 3. Suggestion of cerebellar tonsillar ectopia. Attention to this area on brain MRI is suggested in the clinical context of headaches.
Avatar f tn once that is all cleared up, so to speak, then if the symptoms still persist, see the neurology for an eval for migraines and all which should include a scan so it should rule in or out any type of tumor. Since your headaches appear to be positional, it does seem to be connected to the ears - so I would see a good ear doc first.
Avatar f tn Hi, my ten yeor old son has suffered from migraine type headaches that the doctors have told me are sinus induced. An MRI several years ago showed a severe sinus infection that he had to take antibiotics for 30 days. He gets these 2-3 times a week sometimes. Could removing his tonsils improve his headaches? Is there a connection? He's only had strep once in his life. If anyone could help me, i'd appreciate it!
Avatar f tn t know exactly when my smell went completely, it was gradual. I want so desperately for it to return. I have taken immunotherapy, MRI, CT scan, lots of antibiotics, prescription nose sprays, nasal wash, etc. to no avail. I am currently taking antibiotics, prednisone, nasonex, atrovent, asteline, and nasal wash before the sprays (I have never taken all three before, but I thought it may be worth a try). Also, I am going for another CT scan this week. I also take a boat load of vitamins daily.
Avatar n tn I fail to believe that a scan could not pick up on this amount of mucous, which leads me to believe an MRI scan would be able to detect the density of my sort of mucous better as I've read that MRI's pick up better on soft tissue inflammation.
785584 tn?1273249232 I am due to see an NS in November. the diagnoses of the Syrinx was an Incidental diagnoses after an MRI scan for what my doctors thought was Menears Disease with has similar symptoms to CM.
