Mri scan of right shoulder

Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan of right shoulder

mri-scan

Avatar f tn Had a MRI in October. Doctor sent me to physical therapy due to a fall with me landing on my right shoulder. It is still acting up. Now he wants me to have a "arthrogram MRI." I went to get the procedure done today. The radiologist will not give me the arthrogram MRI. He says that I am "severely allergic" to it. I get severe hives, vomit, eyes swell badly. He wants my ortho doctor to give me a prescription for two medications that may counteract it.
Avatar n tn My friend got a mri done on her right shoulder and it shows quite a few white and dark spots. She has limited movement and nerve spasms. What is wrong with her shoulder?
Avatar m tn Does MRI of the shoulder see the scapula (pain is in upper right back around shoulder blade)?
1069644 tn?1276928863 I have had removal of gallbladder, endoscopy and ultrasound x 3, Hida scan x2, cat scan and MRI of abdomen, chest ct and MRI, stress test, blood tests 2x month checking liver, pancreas, cbc and h pylori. Everything has come back normal except the liver enzymes when I was in the hospital and the Hida scan. There are two types of Hida that I know of, the one for the gallbladder and the one I just had which does the test in reverse order and checks the sphincter.
Avatar f tn So I went to another Orthopedic who reviewed the MRI and said that the he seen no indication of a tear in the MRI and that it was a crush tissue injury. So who do I believe? The Radiologist and first Orthopedic or the 2nd who has discounted the previous diagnosis? I have been doing physio for over 14 months with no remarkable improvement.
Avatar n tn I have been to 4 doctors, 3 of them Orthopedics. The 1st was a shoulder specialist. He ordered an MRI or my shoulder (but did not include my scapula though that was my chief complaint) and when the films came back he said I was not having a shoulder problem. He was looking for a torn rotator cuff or impingement. Then he sent me for an MRI of my Cervical spine and when the films came back hesaid I have lost my lordosis (neck curve) and have a very mildly bulging disk at C5-C6.
Avatar m tn It will depend on the results of your cervical spine MRI what type of treatment would be effective to relieve your symptoms. I believe the physical therapist is correct in thinking that your neck vertebrae are the pain generators. Please post the results of your MRI and we might be able to assist you better. While it is possible to have a concurrent shoulder injury/bursitis, the shoulder pain could have also been related to your neck problems.
Avatar n tn Hello tjq, It seems that you are having some form of neuropathy. What is your age? Are you a diabetic? The report of MRI would be of great help.
Avatar m tn side and in face , alil down shoulder but not arm, had a ct scan shows disk disease and sending me to get mri, they say ct scan dosent show pinched nerve, it did show problem with c-4 and c-5 disc, (degeneritive disc disease that is causing pinched nerve.
Avatar f tn I have had an mri of my Cervical Spine which showed some muscle inflammation and one of my shoulder which showed nothing. I cant convince my doctors to do one of my Thoraic Spine as they just say nothing will show up. I have had xrays which have been fine. Also my ribs on my left side have been painful ever since I crashed and 3 years later I am unable to lie on them. Does anyone here think I would benefit from an mri of my T spine or are the docs right?
Avatar m tn Recent MRI on right shoulder with following results: 1) the superior labrum posterior to the bicipital anchor is avulsed. 2) The rotator cuff is intact. What exactly does this mean and what would my options be? Thank you.
Avatar n tn I have had awful pain in my right arm/shoulder for 4 months. MRI showed torn biceps tendon and other small bursal tears and tendonitis, and a rotator cuff tear. Would a bone metastases have been revealed on the MRI of my arm and shoulder? Should I ask for a bone scan? I am 57 years old and have been cancer free since a stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis 8 years ago. I am worried that the pain does not go away.
Avatar m tn When I was 17 I started getting a sharp pain in my right side behind my eye. Kinda stabbing pain. Several days a week. My right arm and sometimes leg would get this kinda painful numb feeling (really hard to explain). I had to stretch them and put lots of pressure on them to reduce the pain. Over the years this has continued. When I was 21 I had a kayaking accident (right-shoulder). I ignored it and left it to self-heal.
440941 tn?1243648084 I am scheduld to see the doctor on tuesday simply to go over the xray report but he did assure me that all was well on the xray. Do you think i should ask the phsician to do a mri or ct scan on my upper back where the pain is.
Avatar m tn I do have a copy of my MRI. I also had a CT scan done, both of which I have copies of (the CT scan was because the drs thought I had a blocked sinus cavity). I have yet to have any type of scan of my spine though, just brain.
Avatar f tn You should have had an MRI a long time ago. Yes, the doctor should have ordered an MRI of your shoulder and your cervical vertebra to rule out spinal stenosis. One simple test which should have been performed is the so-called "axial traction challange." While you are having pain the skull is pulled axially upwards. If the pain diminishes at once we have defined the problem as a pinched nerve in the cervical area. What you have is referred pain.
Avatar f tn I had a shoulder decompression and rotator cuff tear repair about 5 years ago, A few months ago I had a ultrasound which showed a full thickness tear, bursitis and osteoarthritis, went to see a ortho surgeon who then got me to have a MRI scan. The scan showed no tear but alot of fluid in the shoulder, he called it a angry shoulder? Is it possible for a MRI to be wrong? If not what is with the fluid in the shoulder? can someone please help.

1201849 tn?1266676723 My MRI of 2/4/10 shows a NEW finding of "Grade I anterolisthesis of C7 and T1 by 3 mm". What would the correct treatment be? Conservative or Surgical? PMH: formerly a Radiology Medical Transcriptionist,19 years. My Neurosurgeon performed ACDF C5-6 C6-7 with bone graft harvested from my right hip BUT without plating in 1/1993 which was VERY SUCCESSFUL!
Avatar m tn Hi, Thank you for your question. For persistent headaches, possibilities like migrainous, cluster, tension, pinched nerve in cervical spine and refractive errors that need to be evaluated thoroughly with the help of a neurologist here. Migraine like headache can be throbbing, one sided of face & head and preceded by aura (starts with blurred vision). Cluster headache may appear as burning, explosive in nature and tear appears from eyes.

Avatar n tn I understand these should be avoided while pregnant, but what if they are medically necessary? Has anyone gotten an MRI or Cat Scan while pregnant? What was the outcome, did it have an affect on your baby? Was it worth it? I have been experiencing agonizing pain in my left shoulder, neck, and arm, that sometimes radiates to my chest, making it hard to breathe. I am having a really hard time sleeping, and even functioning, and my quality of life has gone down because of it.
