mri-scan

Avatar f tn Or it comes down to been 46yrs. I recently got a scan on my one knee but have arthisits (wear and tear). Do I need to go and get MRI? Its a pain from driving then hopping out of the car walking across the road with stiffness..then slowly comes good for awhile..until sit again.
Avatar f tn Hi...just a suggestion...u can request a copy of the MRI on disk...and a copy of the report....u will get it b4 u see the dr that rx'd it. Not that u can read it, but if u r sent to a specialist u will have everything u need!!
Avatar f tn The bone scan showed activity and inflammation in my knee and ankle. The PA I went to told me that it is tendonitis in my knee with referred pain. I just want to be sure. I only feel pain in my knee when I'm actually running. After I'm done running, the pain is localized in my tibia. Has anyone experienced something similar? It is actually patellar tendonitis? It just seems weird to me that a injury in my knee doesn't really hurt my knee that much but severly hurts my shins...
Avatar m tn After that I was unable to flex my right knee due to pain but I could manage to walk. Upon x ray and MRI scan it was diagnosed as avulsion fracture of posterior cruciate ligament and the fraction bed was 0.1mm. I was applied with POP bandage over the right leg (no surgery done) and advised bed rest. After the treatment period stepping up and down on stair case was difficult for me and slowly felt crepitating noise from the same knee.
Avatar m tn Thanks, Dr Santos. My daughter's physician, in consultation with a team of radiologists, has concluded that the tumor is malignant and that it is Oestoid Osteoma. However, he's only 90% sure (as is usual in such cases). Incidentally, tomorrow is the surgery for removal of tumor and at the same time the sample will be sent for biopsy.
Avatar f tn Back at the beginning of december i injured my knee. I had been about to kneel down when my leg gave out and i landed on my knee with it bent in a very awkward way. I had swelling and great amounts of pain and dull ache and after seeing a doctor in A&E was booked for an mri scan and put into a lockable brace which i wore for around 6 weeks as he was sure i'd suffered mcl injury. The scan showed no cartilage damage and no real mcl damage which was suspected.
Avatar f tn (I am seeing a military doctor overseas and they advised I get it looked at once I am back in the states, so maybe the scan was limited) Any advice or an idea as to what could be growing on my knee?
Avatar n tn Thank you. My mom is walking with a crutch. She has severe hip aches especially when she sits or stands up. She said she will have a CAT scan on the 20th of August. She had physical therapists for a month at home and when she had these hip aches she stopped physical therapy and started only doing short walks once a day. How long and what kind of physical therapy activities should she be doing after the knee replacement? Thanks.
Avatar f tn i am having sever knee and shin pain, its been like this for over a year. my knee will not bend and will not straighten. it hurts. what do you think that can cause this? i was in a mva when this happend.

Avatar n tn I have two questions can you please explain in laymen terms. 1. This is what was in the nuclear Medicene doctors finding report, "There is photopenic defect involving the metallic right toe knee arthroplasty hardware". I took this as meaning there is an issue with the hardware on my knee replacement which has cause scare tissue. What else are they trying to say?
Avatar f tn I have no swelling and it is tender to touch the bones on my knee. The pain is over the outside of my knee cap not the bottom its more at the top and sides. Please please someone help. I am thinking could this be mild scoliosis, early osteoprosis or early osteoarthritus? My nan had osteoarthritus all her life and my dad suffers with reumatoid arthritus which i have already been checked for.
Avatar f tn It was impossible to stop all other activity as walking was the way of life in this city and the nature of my job. My knee got worse without running. About a month or 2 later I went on a trip to Borneo and stupidly climbed the tallest mountain in SE Asia (a 2 day hike) mostly using the weight of my one leg. After this my other knee became as painful as the other and now they are very similar in pain. I now don't do much exercise except some yoga and even that gets too much for my knees.
Avatar n tn Also I have constant inner leg/knee burning and tender to touch.
Avatar m tn In the last year I have had 5 excruciating attacks in my right knee, yet I've never injured my knee in any way. The episodes seem to come for no apparent reason and typically last for 3 days. The pain is so intense that I cannot work or even stand for those 3 days. In fact, I roll around moaning and screaming when the episode is at its peak. It feels like electric shocks which hit every 2-3 seconds during the 3-day attack.
1281296 tn?1271347164 We went back over to the hospital on monday to have an x ray and they say they couldnt see any thing and to wait for an MRI scan. My concerns are that when he had his previous MRI scan it took 3 doctors to detect the ACL damage in the first place. Should the knee be this swollen after nearly two months and why would it swell again once the initial swelling had gone down. Should he be exercising or keeping still?? Using an ice pack or not??
Avatar f tn I’m an 18 y/o climbing Instructor and have suffered with right knee pain for a couple of years now. Recently it got bad to the point where it was unstable and painful without bearing weight. I went to my GP who is a sports team medic (so knew his stuff) and he ordered an MRI as he was concerned about the cartilage. I had the scan last week and I’ve just got the report which just states ‘There is not much on your scan except slight wear to medial meniscus but no tear’.
Avatar m tn I hurt my back last week lifting a bale of hay. Pain started the next day in my lower back (right side) & buttocks area (right side). The next day my groin area was included in the pain. The following day the pain travelled down the front portion of my right leg & the pain in my back, groin & buttocks areas are gone. Now (4th day) the pain is running down the front part of my right leg only from the knee down. I am seeing a chiropractor now who has ordered a MRI.
Avatar f tn The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the four major ligaments of the knee, and resists forward movement of the tibia. If this is a new injury, treat with RICE -- rest, ice, compression, and elevation. NSAIDs can help with pain and swelling, although, always take NSAIDs with food. My son destroyed an ACL playing football -- he lives a normal life without one, but uses an orthopaedic knee brace when he runs or plays sports.
Avatar f tn The pain will come with walking, sometimes very quickly and sometimes not much at all. When the pain comes, I have a swelling on the outside of the knee joint about the size of half a golf ball. When I rest the swelling and pain go away within 10 or 20 minutes. This doesn't sound like arthritis to me. A two-fold question, would these symptoms be consistent with AO? Or do these symptoms sound more like damage to the meniscus? Also...
Avatar m tn the doctor thought it could be the fatty pad behind my acl wedging between my miniscus and bone, he also told me every thing looked good insided my knee.. after my surgery my simptoms are still the same. they have prescribed all kinds of anti inflamatories and pain killers non of them work at all. the pain is unbearable when i stand or walk for more than 10-15 minutes. the pain reaches a level 10.
Avatar f tn Are there any other tests that might show if there is a problem with the knee cap. Can an MRI be done with TKR, or a Ct Scan or bone scan? Thank you for any advice.
Avatar n tn This is scary because it comes on so sudden it feels like a bolt of lightning traveling through my thigh nerves to the joint of the right side only of the groin area. I'm wondering if this strange pain will some day get worst. Please help me.
Avatar f tn Ankle went and I fell onto my left knee. People with me were more worried about my knee but most pain was in the ankle at the time so I was completely unconcerned by the knee. I got up and walked to my meeting, then went to a doctor who briefly glanced at my knee and gave it the all clear, and diagnosed a sprain in my ankle. Five weeks later an xray showed a fracture to my right ankle (lateral malleolus).
