mri scan of head sinus

I am enduring a lot of head/pressure , heavy chest pressure and blurry eyes . I did a lot of MRI and all comes negative, also I did 3 spinal tab and the reading was 220. I seen by Neurologist/ENT in university of Iowa, mercy hospital and mayo clinic but no one can figure out what my symptom is?

Now i know that nothing happens in my head or my brain. I had my ct scan because i accidentally bumped my head into the floor last 3 months. Thanks again.

Does it scan the brain only or other parts of the head under the brain?? As in does it scan the areas above the neck inside the head below the brain.... Appreciate advice from someone who has done an MRI scan before....

Hi...sorry u r having so many issues....have they done a MRI? Just wondering if it is the sinus or something else going on.... Have they put u on antibiotics for an infection of the sinus?

pains in top of head on same side, pain across same side cheek bone, upper jaw where tooth meets gum (only on one tooth on same side) pain from corner of sore eye down the nose (this nostrill is always blocked and i dont have any sense of smell when i get up in the morning) and deep in the back of my neck just behind my ear, i had mri scan which has come back clear, i got a nasal spray called Flixonase but when i sprayed it into the nostrill it caused severe pain in my nose the top of my head

on the 18th of this month, where I will be demanding an MRI and referral to a specialist. But the CT scan states no evidence of intracranial hemorrhage, ventricular system is normal in size and configuration, withough evidence of hydrocephalus. No discrete parenchymal masses nor evidence of mass effect. There is a slight inferior displacement of the cerebellar tonsils, suggesting a mild chiari 1 malformation. No extra-axial blood or fluid collections are identified.

The best way to avoid or get rid of a sinus headache is to treat the underlying sinus inflammation and, if present, clear any infection by using antibiotics. Treating the inflammation involves anything from using a humidifier to taking medicines to surgically drain of the mucous in the sinuses. In case you need any more information,pls post us.

A baseline CT scan or MRI scan will help rule out involvement of underlying structures. A complete eye and ENT examination will also help exclude the presence of sinus headaches or any eye problems.

This appears to be due to sinus inflammation through an infection due to postural variation of head, may be accompanied with fever and diagnosed by MRI or CT SCAN. Hope this helps. Take care.

Do the situation you detailed will be shown in Sinus CT Scan, i have already done this scan, only shows blocking of maxillary sinus. two days ago also, i started snizzing, got cold (may be due to allergy), could not sleep properly and next day this typical sound started from ears / head. This is not the RINGING sound as i read on various posts, as ringing typical commonly known as sounds like telephone ringing.

I have been having a great deal of head pressure in the back, side and top of my head ever since a sinus infection 2 months ago. I had 2 full weeks of antibiotics, and my headaches left for a short time, but a sensation of fullness stayed in my left ear. This has caused me to feel off balance, and foggy headed, like I may pass out at times. I just had an MRI and CT of the sinuses that says I have mild mucosal thickening of the sphenoid sinuses and a mild septal deviation.

My doctor said everything looks good from scan but if I wanted piece of mind from a neurologist he could refer me and one to an ENT. Iv been having chronic stuffy nose, dizzy spells and headaches :O he thinks all allergies. I am currently taking flonase every other day. Can anyone give me insight on if I should be worried? I have anxiety so Im not sure if this is something to even get a second opinion on :O FINDINGS: There is no CT finding of contusion, hematoma or edema.

A lot may have happened between December, 2007 and May, 2012. Because it doesn't hurt when you do those other things, only when sneezing, I would think they especially would want to focus on the sphenoid sinus area with a CT scan. It's a bit more unusual, but I have a cyst in one of my sphenoid sinuses myself, so it may be worth looking at the area, given the location of pain you described. Do you have any clicking or popping with your jaw on that side?

Had a MRi and the diagnosis was sinus disease Have never heard of it before. My doctor ordered a head scan with contrast. When I went, they did a scan without contrast then told me they were not going to do the one with contrast. Is that because everything looked normal or because they could already see an abnormality so didn't need to use the contrast?

t think the headaches I have are migraines, but I have suffered migraines with halos in the past. I have recently had a CT and MRI and they were clean. My pain emits from the right sinus, it seems. I feel pain behind my eye, ear, cheek and temple. My CT did show the right maxillary sinus full of bone but my Dr. assured me that was irrelevent. I still feel pain through the Vicodin and am concerned about its continued use.

but 1 month ago i started feeling extreme facial pain and pressure in my eyes and sinus. i had a mri brain scan and everything was ok. but i thought it was a sinus infection and took antibiotics and the symptoms calmed down. as soon as i finished the antibiotics the symptoms came back. not as severe. i have recently been feeling a tightness in my chest again and facial pain around my jaw and temples.

My son had his front of his head and sinus cavity fractured as the doctor said a crushed cornflake. They reconstructed it and used 7 titanium plates, he has had severe headaches and today a knot appeared over one eyebrow. The finding are Empty Sella and Minimal Paranasel Sinus Desease and mild mucosal thickening in some of the Paranasal Sinuses. I still have the top head pressure/headache and no or very little sinus drainage. I went to see a ENT specialist at National Jewish and he looked down my nose with a camera scope and found nothing. After I told him I had used Oxymetazoline HCL nasal spray for years he said I destroyed my sinuses and no hope.
