mri-scan

Avatar f tn so now i called my primary MD and asked if she can order MRI/ct scan bec of the pain im having....its been getting worst now compared to last month. my primary md rejected mri/ct scan and said its not a requirement at this time yet. im having a second opinion with another gyn oct 6. any reactions, comments, pls.. thanks..
Avatar m tn did they order a follow up with an MRI ? this usually gives a better picture on what it is. I can tell you that most lesions on the liver are hemangiomas which are benign and nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn Any unusual pain such as what you are experiencing should be worked up with a bone scan and a head scan (either MRI or head CT scan although MRI gives more information.) Should those tests be normal, there are other reasons that you can have pain: Women who have gone through surgical menopause and chemotherapy are at higher risk for fracture (osteoporosis related). Additionally, women will commonly experience severe bone pain and joint pain after chemotherapy.
Avatar n tn If you think you are showing signs of ovarian cancer you need to see a gynecologist right away and get some tests run. Symptoms of ovarian cancer vary from person to person and a gynecologist is the best place to start. You should request a transvaginal ultrasound and a CA 125 blood test. Based on those results you may be sent for an MRI and/or CT scan. Don't wait on this - if you're having symptoms see a gyn as soon as you can.
447161 tn?1262923084 He has suggested an MRI scan next week, which, if abnormal, will mean that we will go ahead with removal of the ovaries and no decision necessary..but If the scan is ok I will have to make a decision. Do I have surgery to remove my ovaries and go straight into early menopause, possibly causing severe symptoms.
Avatar n tn I saw an ENT in NYC and have taken many nasal sprays and 5 different antihistimines. Nothing is working. I had a cat scan and mri of the brain and everything is fine. Please help, Thank you.
Avatar n tn I am 27 years old and a recent MRI scan has indicated that i have a left ovarian dermoid cyst. (approx 5cm) To my great surprise (and fear), the scan also indicated that I have a "unicornuate uterus in the anterverted position". The junctional zone is unremarkable. What exacly does this mean and what are the implecations on my fertiltiy? I am extremely stressed and concerned and my doctor has not at all been sensitive or explained anything to me.
Avatar n tn During this time, I have had countless ultrasounds (last ultrasound was performed in March of this year), 2 CT scans (last CT scan was performed in May of this year) and an MRI (although the MRI was a while back). I also have had an upper endoscopy and a colonoscopy. And, lots of bloodwork. My symptoms include: chronic bloating, twinges of pain near my right ovary, irregular bowel movements, back pain, regular fatigue. I am still very concerned about the prospect of having ovarian cancer.
1803761 tn?1360052272 Hello everyone. I had been waiting on MRI results after two months of numbness, vertigo, headaches and weakness, and many other neurological symptoms. I got the report on Brain and Thoracic, with Cervical to come. I'm so confused by the findings. They used a 3T scanner with and without contrast. My report says this: A lesion is present within the left cerebellar hemisphere. It consists of punctate focus of decreased signal intensity on T2 and T2/Flair, which is isointense on T1.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know where I can get a Fibroscan done in the NYC area? I am 58, genotype 1a slow responder, went through 28 weeks SOC without success. I just had my first liver biopsy and the results were Stage 2 fibrosis, Grade 0 portal inflammation and Grade1 lobular inflammation. However, my MRI shows a cirrhotic morphology, although my spleen is normal size (12.6 cm). I think a Fibroscan may be a good source of supplemental info.
Avatar m tn the lesion was considered likely to be fibroid , benign and not growing much(had another transvag U/S last week),the left side groin and leg was considered unrelated to the lesion and because it did not show as anything on ct scan, it will have to wait for the MRI Dec 11.
Avatar f tn Heterogeneous enhancement of the uterus and a bubble of air as well as some diverticulitis and recommended an biopsy which was already done. When the nurse called she said only that the CT scan was normal but when i asked for and reviewed this I'm confused. Their recommendation is to follow up in a year on the cyst. Does this all sound normal to you?
Avatar f tn This is an earlier post to you from me, please read as you definitely need a cat scan or perferably an MRI so the doctor is not going in blind. Yes eventually having a laproscopic procedure may be appropriate or sometimes open surgey may be the best course of treatment> Which treatment option can be determined via the MRI/Cat Scan. Please go to a large medical center in your area Unniversity of Pennsylvania(U Penn). Or have your family take you into Sloan Kettering in NYC.
Avatar f tn I went to a new GYN on Monday who said that I should go for a MRI to figure out where to go next with this. My MRI is tomorrow and it is kind of freaking me out because I am claustrophobic. I am hoping I will not have to go all the way in the machine. I guess my question (after this very long story) is if any of these symptoms I am having have anything to do with this mass/cyst.
Avatar f tn He ordered flexion/extension mri that the girl doing mri didnt know how to do and called Kulas office to ask while I was with her. That mri showed the joint spurring, lordosis and foraminal narrowing. So all my tests so far were csf flow study.... brain, cervical, thoracic mri and cervical in flexion/extension mri. What has been done for you in the way of handling your EDS?
Avatar f tn s and the Radiologist read her MRI as a fibroid. I then took her to Sloan Kettering in NYC to see a GYN/ONC surgeon Dr Carol Brown who had the MRI repeated by a GYN/ONC Radiologist who called her DX to the tee which was confirmed after surgery. The best advice you see all over these posts is you have to be your own advocate, be aggresive and stay on top of your phycicians. Get copies of all your tests/results as you are entitled to them.
Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
Avatar n tn They can however, detect mental illness such as scitzophreneia which i know because i was diagnosed through an MRI. The only mental illness an MRI scan able detect is an actually different brain connections than that of a normal brain. Ive had one done for mental illess! Can you describe some of your symptoms, what you feel and how often yolou feel it? I know your question is based on needing to know where to get a private MRI scan, which i am unsure of!!
Avatar n tn my wife had a mri scan on her neck the result came back as follows mri on the C- spine showd minor degenerative changes with a normal spinal cord there disc lesion at C6/C7 which corrugates the postrior longitudinal ligament by the spinal cord .
Avatar f tn Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.
