mri-scan

Avatar f tn Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.
Avatar n tn You don't say anything about wanting more relief from your pain. If you do want more help in that regard, tell us what strategies have you been trying so far. You don't say what kind of doctor you've seen. If it was a neurologist, I would feel more confident that you probably don't have much to worry about. A lot of time, an MRI or CT scan is ordered to rule out more serious things, but maybe with the kind of migraines that you have, it may not be necessary.
Avatar n tn I had an MRI, Ct scan AND several xrays done for my migraines. i get them a lot. the MRI and Ct scan both came back fine.... the xrays showed that i have extra fluid in my sinuses, which was later diagnosed as sinusitis.
Avatar f tn I went and saw my family doctor about my migraines and he decided to refer me to a neurologist and asked that I get a CT scan. While waiting for the neurologist to get to me, now the nurse calls me and say that I need a MRI before going to see the neurologist. There was no mention of the MRI prior to this phone call and I wanted to make sure that this is necessary. I don't have money to waste! ;) Doesn't a MRI and CT scan basically do the same thing?
Avatar n tn I get cluster headaches EVERY day & migraines at least 2-3 times a week. I can't have an mri because of an implant,so I'm going for a ct scan. One year ago they were only "tension" headaches & now they are blinding. My neurologist gave up & said "just migraines" not to treat them any more because of 1 missed payment & dismissed me. Another doctor found the clusters & put me on oxygen, but they come back soon after I stop.
Avatar n tn only having migraine in the morning. I think he had an mri scan as well as a ct scan and at the time they mentioned a small cyst which they said was not causing his headaches and was harmless. We have tried everything including excluding foods, drinks etc.
Avatar f tn I had a CT SCAN December 2012 and MRI March 2013 both came back normal. My neurologist diagnosed it as chronic tension headaches and were prescribe Topamax that I stopped taking about a year ago. I am very scared something is wrong because I am having nagging headaches starting at the back and working its way behind my eyes. I don't know if its anxiety/stress or if its really something wrong. Should I go get another Ct Scan or MRI? My doctor tells me Im ok its from anxiety and sleep apnea.
Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
Avatar n tn She is scheduled for an MRI based on the results of the CAT scan. The MRI is scheduled for March and the appt. with the neurologist is set for the week after the MRI. she has also been referred to an Ear/nose/throat specialist as they say that the blood vessels and veins in her nose are "fragile & bulging". The pediatrician printed out a copy of the CAT scan report for us.
Avatar f tn they check my blood pressure and it was fine and i been feeling hot and when they check i dont have a fever its wired cause i dont feel fine, they did a cat scan and it was (-) and chest xray and (-) also i dont know whats wrong but im not feeling like my self anymore one doctor thinks i have vertigo but he didnt check my ear or anything he said to ask my own doctor to send me to a MRI but my doctor dont what to..i dont know wats wrong i just wanna feel better ....
Avatar n tn They can however, detect mental illness such as scitzophreneia which i know because i was diagnosed through an MRI. The only mental illness an MRI scan able detect is an actually different brain connections than that of a normal brain. Ive had one done for mental illess! Can you describe some of your symptoms, what you feel and how often yolou feel it? I know your question is based on needing to know where to get a private MRI scan, which i am unsure of!!
Avatar n tn I had a cat scan about 6 weeks ago that was negative. I have another mri coming up in about a week. Just wondering if this is commonly seen in migrainers or not. THanks.
Avatar f tn i had a mri scan found a white spot on my right side of my brain what could it be its not ms the doc said
Avatar m tn I too suffer from migraines. Have they done a MRI or Cat scan and checked for Chiari Malformation? I suffer from that, it is where your spine is too long and your brain sit right on it. I have spinal fluid build up and it has to be released. This happens about once a year. I suffered from Migraines for over 20 years before they found this, am on SSDI because of my migraines now.
Avatar n tn The neurologist said he could faintly make the tumor out on the 2004 MRI since the 2012 MRI tipped him off on where to look. So even if it's normal it may be a good idea to go ahead and get one. Good luck!
Avatar m tn if I take ibueprohen it goes away for most of the day. Should I get a Mri or ct scan ? Can sore necks give you dule headaches ?
Avatar m tn All of my life I have suffered from nose bleeds. It wasn't till about 3 years ago that I started getting them 10-12 times a day. Lasting 15-30 minutes each, at times. My wake up call came when I had my head hanging over the bathroom sink, looked down and I had the biggest blood clot I had ever seen. I was scared to death! After scheduling an appt with my primary Dr. who ordered CT's and MRI's...I was passed to an ENT and Hemathologist/Oncologist. (Can you say scary...
492818 tn?1290319404 My mother died from a brain aneurysm. I have migraine headaches that seem to be centered in the exact area that her aneurysm was located - the right side of the head in the "temple area." Should I be concerned that I may also have an aneurysm in the same spot? The reason I know exactly where her's was located is that she lived long enough to have surgery to repair it but then things went horribly bad with a major stroke after surgery.
Avatar f tn Hi all, I'm hoping you could help me by answering some questions I have about my continuing medical problems. I have been dealing with numbness/tingling issues for about a year now (started for the first time last June (2016).) The numbness is usually in my lower legs, left arm, and head. It gets worse and turns into this sort of shooting/tingling feeling when I bend my neck. These symptoms come in "bursts" that usually last for about 1-2 weeks.
Avatar f tn Hi, thanks for your reply. The MRI and CT scan came out fine. As i stated i am working on my migraines with my Dr. and have been for the past seven years. As far as the drainage it is very difficult to collect. I am not sure my question was answered though ... i am wondering if there is any link between my nasal drainage and possible puncture from my epidural and any link between those and my migraines? Also, how would i check to see if in fact there is a puncture in my spine?
Avatar f tn Hi, I do not think that you are overreacting as it is normal for a person to be concerned about lesions noticed on the MRI scan. Also, any change in the type of the headache should be investigated to find out the cause. Although it is difficult to comment without looking at the MRI scan, I think that these could be white matter lesions (WMLs) which are seen more often in migraine patients but their association with migraine is not understood.
466666 tn?1206986325 i had an MRI done and everything turned out fine. i used to get 2-3 migraines A WEEK!! i would have to go to the hospital once a week for in injection of demerol, or morphine. and now they dont give injections any more... you have to sit in emergency and get an iv. so you sit there for 2-5 hours depending on how busy the ER is... and get medicated. i cant remember the name of the medication they give you... i should know it... ive had to soooo many times...
Avatar f tn Please ask her to take treatment for migraine. If her symptoms do not improve she can go for a MRI of head. MRI is a useful tool to identify soft tissue pathologies. Take care!
Avatar n tn My consultant referred me for a MRI scan, after my scan I seen the pictures of my skull on the screen, I could see a small white spot. I'm really worried it could be something serious, I've got to wait 4 weeks for my results. Any ideas as to what this could be?
Avatar f tn Does anyone know why this could be happening and if I should get an mri or ct scan done? I also get migraines mostly after doing any type of strenuous activity with back neck and head pain. Please help.
Avatar f tn can anyone help explain what my MRI/MRA scan results mean:While no definitive aneurysmal dilatation of the intracranial vasculature is evident, there is subtle suggestion of potential fenestration of the M1 segments bilaterally, left slightly more conspicuous than the right. There is no evident hemodynamically significant stenosis or high flow vascular malformation. The dural venous sinuses demonstrate normal flow-voids.
