553692 tn?1215277731 Hi, I have an mri scan results and I thought I simply had a torn meniscus, however my mri showed up, Large bone infarction of the proximal tibia metaphysis and proximal diaphysis. There is also a large bone infarct in the medial femoral condyle which extends to the articular surface, with moderate bone marrow edema. There is a small in farct of the posterior weight bearing surface of the lateral femoral condyle and a mild infarct of the trochlea.
Avatar m tn my name is wishyiar// mri scan for left knee says /bony contusion at medial condyle due to associated degenerative changes anterior joint effusion is noted grade 2 posterior horn degenerative changes at medial meniscus noted with normal meniscus apart from anterior horn meniscal syst.
Avatar m tn is it okie if i show you the report of mri scan?
Avatar n tn MRI of the knee was performed using the following sequences: axial, sagittal, and coronal proton density weighted with fat saturation; sagittal proton density weighted; sagittal 3D GRE. 284 images were presented for interpretation. Comparison(s): Right knee radiograph, 12/7/15 FINDINGS: Menisci: Medial meniscus: Horizontal tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus with extension into the body.
Avatar f tn If it is successful then ok otherwise it is certain that ACL or Meniscus or both are teared (as per MRI scan) which will be treated with arthroscopy. My queries- 1) Can above injury is cured with the help of medicines and exercise. 2) Is arthroscopy is the only solution for meniscus and ACL tear. 3) How safe is hroscopy and what information we should know to make sure that we are going right way.
Avatar n tn Hi. I am a 33 year old very active male and I recently had an MRI on my right knee and was hoping someone could help me in understanding the results.. I have had pain for a few years but it seems to have gotten worse over the last year I have a follow up appointment on the 15th with Ortho and I just want to be intelligent about my Knee (i.e. how bad is this?) issue before I go in. My results are below, any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Avatar m tn Unchanged in appearance. Degenerative intrasubstance signal involving the posterior horn and junction of the posterior horn with body, without convincing extension to the meniscal surface to suggest a superimposed tear. Trace amount of intermediate signal involving the free edge of the medial meniscus body suggestive of superficial fraying. Cartilage flap measuring approximately 1.3 x 0.
Avatar f tn Surgical repair for torn meniscus of L' Knee. 3 months post-op it buckled, caused tear during fall to R' Knee and meniscus was surgically repaired but has also failed, although the surgeon refuses to order an MRI to "prove" this latest injury. Pain is an issue as I am allergic to all pain meds ordered to date and take nothing for the pain levels of 9-10. Before injury both knees were healthy, minimal arthritic changes on MRI's in spite of age 58 and obesity.
Avatar m tn Please help me understand what this MRI report is saying, and what may be my options. Procedure: MRI Left Knee History: Previous injury to the knee with surgery in May repairing a cartilage defect along the lateral tibial plateau. New swelling and pain. Technique: The examination is preformed on the open .3 tesla magnet with sagittal, axial and coronal sequences obtained. Findings: There is no significant increase in joint fluid. The quadriceps tendon and patellar tendon are intact.
Avatar m tn m being sent for a bone scan (not sure why), but no MRI. When i meet with my doctor about the bone scan, I will ask about getting an MRI. Thank you for the suggestion.
Avatar m tn I went straight to my GP and was booked in for a MRI scan. The results came back. There is an oblique degenerative tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus. 15.4x7.3mm intercondylar notch cyst abutting the posterior margin of the root of the PCL. Moderate knee joint effusion. Normal retropatellar cartilage. Noosteochondral Injury. Will I need surgery or will it heel on its own? Help please.
Avatar n tn Okay, I've been through this for years now, but it didn't start when I was 80 years old. It's not always easy to tell if the injury is a Meniscus tear. Even an MRI can be misleading. Yes, there are many surgeons who cut because they make a lot more money cutting then sending you to PT. I've had a surgeon tell me to arrange a surgery when the MRI showed no evidence of a Meniscus tear. So this is a case where you get one opinion and then you need a second opinion.
Avatar f tn What exactly is a bruised meniscus and how long does it take to heal? I injured it 9 1/2 weeks ago and just had an MRI yesterday.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 25 yrs old female.I had pain in left knee for 2-3 months ,but it use to go after rest. But after MRI doctor found ,that I 'm having Grade 2 lateral and medial meniscus tear.I'm able to walk without any pain, but when strain is put on the knee like -while sitting, getting up,climbing stairs . Orthopedic says I require an operation.
Avatar n tn The previous MRI showed that I have a Medial meniscus tear. I was so happy to see that after 1 year, the Meniscus tear disapparead from the MRI report without doing any surgery or rehab. But this time I did the MRI on my both knees and it looks like I have some issue with my cartillage. Can you please help me understand how severe my case is and what I am supposed to do ? Surgery or just ignore it.
Avatar m tn The large majority of meniscus tears do not have the potential for healing on their own, and physical therapy does not promote healing of the meniscus. I compare a torn meniscus to a pebble in your shoe. Until the pebble is removed, you are still going to have pain. Once the torn meniscus (the pebble) is removed, you can feel better. The incidence risk of arthritis after arthroscopic partial menisectomy is quite low.
Avatar f tn t read the radiologists report but did read the mri. He thinks the medial meniscus tear is small and he is more concerned about the extensive arthritis on the lateral side. I have a new dilemma... the radiology report says the lateral meniscus looks intact... the ortho thinks the lateral meniscus is torn. Since that meniscus was sutured 18 years ago and the metal fragments make the lateral side hard to see on MRI I'm wondering who is right?
Avatar f tn My husbands MRI report states: Focal diffuse abnormal signal seen at the medial posterior intersection of posterior horn of lateral meniscus may represent chronic interstitial injury. What does that mean? It also states: Approx. 1 cm bony fragment posterior to the lateral joint may represent fabella in unusual location. What is this and what does it mean?

Avatar n tn It says "incomplete radial tear in the posterior horn medial meniscus extending from the free edge"
