mri-scan

Avatar n tn i had mri scan of my brian 3 weeks ago and now want me to have another with the dye injected first . does this mean they have found somehing wrong ?
Avatar f tn Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.
Avatar m tn He then did a Ultra Sound which showed scarring and small masses by tubes A and B. He then did a CT which found scarring bu no masses. he now wants to do a MRI as he feels the CT was inconclusive. I beleive there is a point that we need to be our own advocate and not allow a lot of probing and testing if there are no symptoms. With no indication that there is any cancer, is there any reason to subject myself to an MRI?
Avatar m tn Manifestation of migrainusus and other demyleinating processes remain amount the differential. Contrast-enhanced brain MRI should be considered to further characterize. No intra-axial mass, global mass effect or midline shift is seen.ventricular morphology appears unremarkable. Benign Virchow-Robin spaces are incidentally noted. Suggestion of cerebellar tonsillar ectopia. In the clinical context of headaches, attention to this are on MRImis suggested.
Avatar f tn Can you please explain my MRI of the brain done with and without contrast please: On T2 weighted and FLAIR sequences, there are multiple subcentimeter round ovoid foci of high signal in the right frontal lobe periventricular white matter, in addition to several subcentimeter lesions in the periventricular and subcortical white matter in the left frontal lobe and the subcortical white matter in the posterior right frontal lobe.
3205586 tn?1362842985 Hi all, I had yet another MRI last week. It showed no new lesions, but it did show a large 1. "Mediastinal mass, possibly an enlarged lymph node or nerve sheath tumor. CT scan and further investigation is warranted." I am freaking out. I've already had an X-ray and several blood draws, but I've yet to get answers. Have any of you had any similar findings on a thoracic or cervical MRI?
Avatar f tn Did you do Ca 125 blood levels? Also why MRI and not CT scan. I had the CT scan because they highly recommended it. As I said the CT shows no mass and they say an CT can miss a mass confused! and now I have a follow up ultrasound on Monday!
Avatar n tn My seventy year old father complained of headaches and some weakness. Bringing him to the emergency room seemed precautionary, but his ct scan revealed a 'mass.' He is now having mri, and a complete battery of tests. I am so devastated because the first (ct scan) result seems like obvious brain tumor. Can you give me not false hope, but some reason for optimism? Is it possible the 'mass' could represent something else?
Avatar f tn I have a 14mm by 12 mm parotid mass found incidently by an MRI done for my migranes. I Have had some weird neck and jaw sensations that I though were sinus related. I sometimes have quick shooting pains up in my temple that last a split second. The ENT neck specialist says most of these are benign and the MRI images does not look cancerous. I'm getting a CAT scan next week to see what nerves and vessels it is affecting.
Avatar f tn they needed to do an MRI to diagnose it as a hemangioma. There is a radiation risk with CT scan. Maybe you should ask if you could have an MRI, it is safer....
Avatar m tn Recently went to ER with severe back pain, they did a CT scan suspecting kidney stones (came back negative). The CT scan showed a mass on my liver though. Dr referred me for an MRI of the liver which also confirmed the mass. A nuclear test was also done. The results are confusing and not sure if a biopsy is really necessary.
Avatar n tn Recommendation was to proceed with an MRI and/or CT Scan w/contrast fluid to further define the identified 1cm "white matter". The contrast fluid will clarify if the white matter is liquid or a solid. Too early to say what it is.
Avatar n tn my GI doc ordered a ultra sound. then he ordered a MRI the 1st time it was a 2 phase MRI then he ordered a 4 Phase MRI now he is trying to set up an appt; with a surgeon. Although I have as of late have have not gotten the appt with the surgeon, I am still waiting...my Liver enzyme test are way low, almost to nothing.
Avatar f tn i was toldv i have a mass on my panceras, but i can't have a mri because i have a nureo stimulater implant and a cage plates and screws in my back, what kind of other test can be done to determine what it is.
Avatar m tn two neurosurgeons and radiologist have looked all confused, just have to wait for next scan now, they said the first scan only finds the mass, the next will determine if its growing
Avatar n tn Hi i have a 10cm complex mass on my right ovary.I'm 51,went through the menopause years ago,but am now having periods every 2 weeks. My consultant cancelled my mri after discussing my abdominal scan with the radiographer. He says he can see everything he needs to see to perform my surgery safely.(He's recommended complete hysterectomy) Does the cancelled mri mean he can see that the mass hasn't spread to anything else? If so does that mean there's less chance of it being cancer?
Avatar m tn Your doctor must be sure that the SOL (space occupying lesion) is in fact a hemangioma and not a malignant tumor. Frequently follow up tests such as a MRI or CT scan are sometimes ordered to confirm the diagnosis. I wouldn't worry too much about this but i would make sure that your doctor is certain that the mass seen on ultrasound is indeed a hemangioma.
1831846 tn?1318378596 on the 18th of this month, where I will be demanding an MRI and referral to a specialist. But the CT scan states no evidence of intracranial hemorrhage, ventricular system is normal in size and configuration, withough evidence of hydrocephalus. No discrete parenchymal masses nor evidence of mass effect. There is a slight inferior displacement of the cerebellar tonsils, suggesting a mild chiari 1 malformation. No extra-axial blood or fluid collections are identified.
Avatar m tn After these results I was sent to get a MRI w/wo contrast, which showed no mass in the left ovary. Could the sonogram be wrong or is it possible the "mass" is to small to be seen on the MRI?
254714 tn?1316613355 1cm of inhomogeneous signal at the inferior most portion of the tongue base. a large area of abnormal signal is appreciated at the infrahyoid left strap muscles medially just to the left of midline. this latter focus measures 4.3 cm in greatest dimension. lack of intravenous contrast limits this examination. consider possible thyroglossal duct lesion. a complex cyst is possible, though not completely favored given the lack of more prominent increased signal in the standard T2 sequences.
Avatar m tn This is the reported findings of my MRI should I be concerned? Do i need to follow up with anything, possibly a CTA scan? There is a 19x6 mm (length x width) hyperintense T1, hyperintense FLAIR, extra-axial fluid collection over the left frontal lobe. This restricts diffusion. No significant mass effect on the underlying brain parenchyma. No abnormal extra-axial fluid collection elsewhere. There is an ill-defined 12x12 mm isointense T1.
Avatar m tn my mum had a cat scan and they found a white mass their she is going for a mri mum said that she fills like she is swimming getting headaches as well
