Mri scan knee procedure

Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan knee procedure

mri-scan

Avatar f tn You make an appointment to see your doctor, who will examine the knee and will probably send you for an xray or an ultrasound scan (or MRI) depending on what the doctor decides may be the cause. You will also need a referral to a physiotherapist to give you specific exercises to do on the knee. Doesn't sound good with you "cracking" your knees in the morning. Forget about different procedures at the moment.

1744364 tn?1311780484 I would like to ask an expert if he/she would recommend/perform knee arthroscopy on me based on the following information. I have had chronic knee pain for the last 16 or so months. My knees lock up and "pop" back out often and it is painful. An MRI of my left knee in June 2010 showed no evidence of a meniscal tear, which the doctor, upon examining it was quite certain was the case. The MRI just showed some inflammation. I got my first cortisone shot the same day.
Avatar f tn hi had mri 29th dec noticed radiologist point and show other radiologist then came in asked who ordered scan my doc or a neuroilogist seemed strange havent got results yet but only been wk
Avatar m tn I have been diagnosed (after three X-ray, two MRI scans, and one technnetium scan) a chondral lesion at the metatarsal / phalanx joint. This has been treated with ultrasound, condroitin sulphate pills for three months, anti-inflammatory drugs on and off, and an insole. The pain when I walk is still there and at times intense. I have two questions: 1. Several physicians have propose hyaluronic acid or cortisone injections. Which is recommended? 2.
Avatar f tn I end up going to ER, they diagnosed me with injured hamstring muscle. I had take MRI of the knee and it came out negative, later I recieved cortizone shot in the knee for the pain, but it made it worse, didnt help me at all.now I'm having these sharp stabbing pains in my knee, and the next option is the orthonoscopy of the knee. I'm being treated for sprain of the knee. What is your opion of the diagnosis, and any other option other than the surgery?
Avatar n tn When having a Hida scan, Do you lay in a machine such as the one of an MRI or what?
Avatar n tn Easier to say its RSD than look for the problem. It could be bursitis, or many other things. Get an MRI. My radiologist looked at my MRI and bone scan and said no RSD or CRPS!!! Going the chronic pain route is serious and using just nerve blocks is a VERY serious way to do exploratory diagnosis of the source of pain. Even my physical medicine specialist said the possibility of nerve damage was too great to warrant such a procedure.
Avatar f tn Back at the beginning of december i injured my knee. I had been about to kneel down when my leg gave out and i landed on my knee with it bent in a very awkward way. I had swelling and great amounts of pain and dull ache and after seeing a doctor in A&E was booked for an mri scan and put into a lockable brace which i wore for around 6 weeks as he was sure i'd suffered mcl injury. The scan showed no cartilage damage and no real mcl damage which was suspected.
Avatar n tn Especially when she moves or walks, she says her both bottoms(where she sits), sometimes hips are hurting so much. Does she need to have MRI or tomography and can she use MRI or tomography with her replacements? Her knee replacement brand is Zimmer and four components: Zimmer, NextGen, Complete Knee Solution, Legacy Knee-Posterior Stabilized LPS-Flex Femoral Component Option Size D, Right.
Avatar f tn Surgical repair for torn meniscus of L' Knee. 3 months post-op it buckled, caused tear during fall to R' Knee and meniscus was surgically repaired but has also failed, although the surgeon refuses to order an MRI to "prove" this latest injury. Pain is an issue as I am allergic to all pain meds ordered to date and take nothing for the pain levels of 9-10. Before injury both knees were healthy, minimal arthritic changes on MRI's in spite of age 58 and obesity.
Avatar f tn There is no positive way to tell what may be going on with you knee other than an MRI. Mine revealed that I have fistulas under the patella and require surgery to correct them. To just visualize the knee you would not know that there is anything wrong with it. I suggest that you request an MRI of your knee. If your PCP is unwilling to order this procedure than request to see an orthopedist. Good luck to you and please keep in touch and let us know how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I fell off.a.ladder and messed up.my knees. I have had my knee washed before. It's a realitivly easy procedures. It's an outpatient procedure known also as a scope. It will hurt. Plan on six weeks to get back to normal. However if you did indeed tear your menisus it may never feel like before injury. I just had a total knee replacement and wow does it still hurt five months later. But a s scope. Three days to two weeks of bad surg pain. I walked same day without my crutches.
Avatar n tn I have two questions can you please explain in laymen terms. 1. This is what was in the nuclear Medicene doctors finding report, "There is photopenic defect involving the metallic right toe knee arthroplasty hardware". I took this as meaning there is an issue with the hardware on my knee replacement which has cause scare tissue. What else are they trying to say?
Avatar n tn I have for the last month developed inner knee pain. Feels like an electrical jolt at times. Is not a constant pain but wakes my up at night.
159619 tn?1707018272 I could walk fine before the surgery. Now I have a limp and am in constant pain, not only the knee, but my other knee, back and hip from compensation. DO NOT GET THIS SURGERY!!
765802 tn?1263300851 I had an MRI on my left knee, they found a large bakers cyst.on the back of my knee How do they treat a Bakers Cyst? I have swelling time to time, and it feels like my knee wants to give out or let go when I try to walk time to time. I also find it hurts a lot getting up from sitting or laying down. Is this normal for Bakers Cyst? I got this from a fall and doing the split with my leg.
