Mri scan knee cap

Common Questions and Answers about Mri scan knee cap

mri-scan

Avatar f tn Are there any other tests that might show if there is a problem with the knee cap. Can an MRI be done with TKR, or a Ct Scan or bone scan? Thank you for any advice.
Avatar m tn ve felt a constant burning (sometimes stabbing) pain which is mainly behind my knee cap, and at the top of the knee cap (where the thigh meets the knee), it also clicks and somedays feels very stiff. this pain fluctuates every day, and some days it will feel almost fine, some days i will be in agony, both of which sometimes stick around for months. excercise is STILL extremely difficult due to pain levels and my knee sometimes locking up.

Avatar f tn When I was a freshman in highschool I had seen a Doctor about my knee problem, and was tolded that my knee caps were making new knee jionts by themselves. They had done surgery on my right knee. I was wondering what the medical name was for this type of knee problem.

Avatar f tn I get up and I walk like old lady in pain between inner thighs down to my calves. Its right near the knee cap. I go to the gym I'm limited to what I do. I can't do jumps. (hurt). I recently gain weight. Wondering if thats. Or it comes down to been 46yrs. I recently got a scan on my one knee but have arthisits (wear and tear). Do I need to go and get MRI? Its a pain from driving then hopping out of the car walking across the road with stiffness..then slowly comes good for awhile..
Avatar f tn I have no swelling and it is tender to touch the bones on my knee. The pain is over the outside of my knee cap not the bottom its more at the top and sides. Please please someone help. I am thinking could this be mild scoliosis, early osteoprosis or early osteoarthritus? My nan had osteoarthritus all her life and my dad suffers with reumatoid arthritus which i have already been checked for.
Avatar m tn Last wk I was playing basketball and when I came down from jumping I had a real sharp pain in my knee and could not continue. Around the top of my knee cap is tender and hurts and when I put pressure on my knee getting out the car or anything I get sharp tack like pains under my knee cap and sometimes on the side of my knee and it aches a little, I have really slight swelling but I am able to walk. What do you think it is and what should I do?

Avatar f tn Can someone please tell me what the following means, this was an MRI of Right Knee W/O Contrast 1.) 6mm wide x 4 mm AP region of partial thickness cartilage loss and fissuring in the central portion of the medial femoral condyle 2.) Patella Baja with mild inflammatory changes in the superior aspect of Hoffa's fat pad and scarring of the deep margin 3.) Trace joint effusion and 9mm long region of thickened synovium in the anterolateral joint line.
Avatar f tn I feel like sometimes my knee might give in, sharp pain with movement, pain when stretching and knee sore to touch (top left, below knee cap, lower right side). My follow-up to review the results of MRI is in 4 weeks and I'm in a lot of pain... besides P.R.I.C.E. is there anything I should avoid or do to help cope with my pain? I can share my MRI images if needed... thanks!
Avatar m tn Swelling of your bursa (a fluid-filled sac that helps with movement of your knee joints) above your knee cap
Avatar f tn I recently had an MRI of my left knee due to pain. I have the results of the MRI but I don't have an appointment until the 29th of April. Chondromalacia patella and chondral thinning along the medial femoral condyle. I was wondering if anyone might know what this result means. I can't get a sooner appointment and I'm really wanting to know what's causing my pain. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn The pain occurs mostly above the knee cap and slightly along both sides. I have never had any knee injuries nor do I remember injuring it prior to when the pain began. I made a doctor's appt for February 22nd but it seems to be getting worse and i'm not sure if I will be able to handle the pain. I have minimal swelling above the knee cap but no redness, warmth or presence of a fever.
Avatar f tn Hi. . If you had recently fallen and hurt your knee, you might have had a bleeding inside your joint and collection of blood in the joint space along with some fracture. I would advise you to immediately see an orthopedician and get an x-ray or a MRI of the affected joint done. Please do not ignore it.
Avatar m tn This happens due to mal-alignment of the knee cap on bending the knee (and hence any imaging study has to be taken with the knee bent), injury to the knee (you may have sustained it in past), flat feet, over tight or over lax muscles around the knee joint. All these aspects will have to be investigated by your doctor. Other possibilities are bursitis (inflammation of fluid filled sac over joints), tendonitis (inflammation of cords joining muscles to bones) or due to weakness of patellar bone.
Avatar f tn s above the knee cap. Right now I just went for a 5 mile walk with my knee brace on and the front underneath my knee cap is very sore and it hurts to keep my knee bent. I'm a 27 year old female who has never had any knee problems before. I'm a geologist and so I really need my knees to be healthy. Unfortunately my health plan is horrible and really can't afford x-rays and MRI's if it ends up being nothing serious. Thanks!
Avatar m tn About 4 months ago I fell over on a tile floor straight onto my knee cap. After about a week of mild pain the pain went away. In the last few weeks I have been noticing more slight pain in the knee, as well as some perceived weakness in the knee. I've also found a slight bump across the patellar tendon, and overall the knee does not seem to feel right. Should I be seeing a doctor, or could this possibly be something I can treat at home? Any ideas on what it could be? Thank you.
Avatar f tn I have had both an X-Ray and MRI of it, they said it was Normal, but the pain is getting worse and the swelling also, you can hardly tell where my knee cap is anymore. I recently got copies of the MRI and x-ray on a dvd and on one of the images of the MRI it shows what looks like a rip on one side and like black watery image on the other. I have looked at Images of other MRI's of knees and cant find any that look the same.
Avatar m tn x-rays show obvious knee cap deteriation ( less than 50 % of the other knee in size ) and an old MRI report said slight sublexation- I have two questions untill I get a different referral from my PCP ( although the doc stated the obvious about the knee cap he did not even bother to allow me to show him what happens when I bend my knee and it wobbles and crunchs and did not even offer a brace solution to my falls ) 1.
Avatar m tn It was sensitive to touch, bruised constantly, locking, giving out, snagging, popping and grinding with sharp pain in one area (top left side of knee cap and right under) and then an achey feeling pretty well all the time. Especially after sitting, walking or standing for any length of time. I was then given an injection to give cushion and it ended up doing nothing but making it worse.
Avatar f tn Pains on inside of knee and under knee cap front, a slightly diff pain behind the knee and random sharp shooting pains on top of knee. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong? I can wiggle toes but not lift heel at all. Sorry for essay and thank you.
Avatar f tn (Question I promise is at the bottom, but there's some back story in here...) On 12/14/16, I was at work, and felt a pop in my right knee, and I buckled. This wasn't "abnormal" for me as this has happened before. I thought nothing of it and continued working my second job for the remaining several hours as a cashier walking, bending, etc.
