1831849 tn?1383228392 No kidding. I have no idea how much a doctors visit or an MRI costs. I was shown a CRAB "price list" (it was stuck in between the pages of the info/CRAB comparison booklet i was given at the MS clinic) let's just say that but for universal health care, i don't think i would be able to begin the treatment i know i need.
Avatar m tn I would suggest you call one of your local imaging centers and ask? I know I couldn't guess how much a MRI cost in South Africa. I know here in New York in the USA it runs about 5,000.00 with and without contrast and depending on which procedure. Good luck in finding out!
Avatar f tn Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.
Avatar f tn Another CT scan was about to be ordered when the chief of radiology said I should use alternative means due to the amount of radiation I had been exposed to as it is accumulative. My question is just how much have I had. I not that worried because most of it was done to save my life. The alternative would have been the end of me however, I am wondering how much is too much and is there anything I can do to change what has been done or is my DNA ruined forever.
197575 tn?1215532624 My insurance probably won't cover thyrogen shots for my year scan and thyroglobulin test. Does anyone know how much 3 shots would cost me??? I don't look forward to going off my meds for several weeks since it took me 7-8 months to finally feel good after my tt. I was on 8 different synthroid doses until we got it right. I'm on 250mcg. I would rather pay for them then be miserable.
Avatar m tn I had an MRI of the brain back in May, to investigate various cognitive / neurological problems I've been experiencing since the start of 2009 (mild confusion, memory problems, muscle twitching, etc). This came back normal (I have neither copies of the scans , nor the radiographers report - just a letter from neurologist saying all findings were normal).
Avatar f tn The ones covered by insurance we don't see the price they send it straight to the ins. company.
Avatar n tn An ultrasound and an uptake scan are different tests. :o) Didn't know FNA's were so expensive though...ouch.
Avatar m tn Hi again I would like to add that yes we have all see the posts about side effects that some people have experienced. Most if not all are related to treatment with interferon and while the problems those people have experienced are not good they are experienced by a minority of patients. Also I believe at least some of them had other medical conditions which most likely complicated their treatment or their livers were already in bad shape to begin with.
567677 tn?1246767776 Chicky is right, it's just the category. But, I do think it's a good thing for the script to say this. That way, the technician at the facility will have to run the protocols for "demyelinating diseases" so it will include what they need to do to see MS, demyelinating, etc. I sure hope I'm right about this one. He had to put "something" on the order. He's not put his finger on the specific dx, yet.
Avatar m tn But you havent told how much it will cost in Euros. Can you please tell how much it will cost in euros?
443136 tn?1210536325 When I was a baby, probably about a year old, I had a CT scan, or an x-ray (can't remember which one) of my head. Then, last year, I had a CT scan done of my head again on 5/31/07. They found a 2 ml lipoma (fatty tissue). They didn't think much of it, so on 6/18/07, I had an MRI done on my head. I know MRI's don't use radiation or anything, but still. Anyway, if you read some of my other questions, you'll see my list of symptoms I've been having.
Avatar m tn If I was you I would think about getting a second opinion from a really good heptologist. There are things here with the medical history that none of us can really guess at cause none of us are doctors but I would find the very best one you can find (even if you can't treat with him all the time - some of them don't take insurance for example like my second opinion doco) and discuss all this with them. I don't know if you are near the northeast but I went to Dr.
Avatar f tn How much water do you know to drink a day? And what if you don't have the Money to eat healthy?
Avatar f tn Yes the epo was a box of ten and cost over $6000 (I was taking 40x2 a week so it only lasted a month). That was about $108,000 alone if you can imagine (rough estimate). Add in ADs, lotions, neup, peg, riba etc etc etc and you will get a pretty broad range of what folks have paid out of pocket. They "say" that typical tx is about $20,000 I believe but..........what is typical? I'm sorry that's not very much help but i figure all in all my tx cost over $200,000 easily.
Avatar f tn how old are you?
987762 tn?1671273328 , where there is a coolant leak that is caused by near explosive heating of this coolant (Usually liquid helium, hydrogen or nitrogen), and is not able to be recovered resulting in a large downtime before it gets back to fuul strength. As a result, an MRI examination can cost several thousands of dollars, as it includes a charge for using the MRI machine to perform the scan, as well as a professional charge for a radiologist to view the images.
Avatar m tn I just had my first abdominal MRI last week. No results back yet. I had just been getting ultrasounds every 6 mon. up until this point. After listening to a talk from the Liver Meeting about alternating with other methods, I suggested it to my doctor. He was fine with it as long as the insurance would cover it.
