mri-scan

Avatar m tn i would definitely get your head checked. if the CT scan does not show anything, and you still feel strange, request an MRI. sometimes CT scans don't show what the MRI does. this was the case for my brain injury. the CT scan showed nothing, but the MRI i had later showed a clear injury to the brain. take care!
Avatar f tn I have seen others ask about specialists in Houston, TX and I found one that I'm 100% satisfied with. I have never come away from an appointment so happy and comforted in my LIFE. It is this guy: http://www.vitals.com/doctors/Dr_Peter_J_Yeh.html He took the time to go through my MRI slide by slide and explain everything to me.
Avatar n tn Nothing was ever said to me about the findings other than he had a perfectly normal brain MRI. He had another brain MRI done last year, but his doc was looking for trauma in his nasal passages as he's lost\decreased his sense of smell. My son is almost 14 now, and has a host of medical issues.
Avatar f tn If I had recurrent pseudotumor, after the third closely-spaced episode I would definitely be wanting something other than prednisone. I see no reason for a CT scan AND an MRI based on the information you provided, so you should find out exactly what was imaged and what they were looking for. It does sound like the doctors are reconsidering the diagnosis. However orbital pseudotumor is pretty "typical" and not hard to diagnose, usually.
Avatar f tn I had an MRI done in August looking for back problems. The Chiari showed up on the scan of my cervical spine and it was recommended that I see a neurologist. I have not been able to get an appointment with anyone to even look at the scan because my primary care physicians office won't give me a refferral. I am very frightened by this whole experience and will travel wherever I have to.
Avatar n tn i would get the mri first as this is very diagnostic for FNH. Liver biopsy is not dangerous but it may yield insufficient tisue and results. I know several doctors at baylor that I could recommend you.
307874 tn?1242755798 They want me to see a ms specialist in Houston and my husband is balking. He is saying we cannot afford going all the way to houston to see a dr. Which ii is a 8 hour drive. What do yall think should I just continue with the neuro hear and see what happens or go to houston? My neuro is giving me the opption. They say I have the clinical symptoms of ms and all my labs are normal except the brain mri.
Avatar f tn My son was recently diagnosed with Type 1 Chiari Malformation a few months ago after he underwent an MRI of the brain following him blacking out. My son has sufferred with migraines for the past few years. He now has a mild headache continuously. After the MRI, we were informed that he had 4 mm and 9 mm herniations of the cerebellar tonsils causing mild to moderate neural crowding. We have been seeing a neurologist regarding his condition, but he is not a specialist in this field.
Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
Avatar n tn They can however, detect mental illness such as scitzophreneia which i know because i was diagnosed through an MRI. The only mental illness an MRI scan able detect is an actually different brain connections than that of a normal brain. Ive had one done for mental illess! Can you describe some of your symptoms, what you feel and how often yolou feel it? I know your question is based on needing to know where to get a private MRI scan, which i am unsure of!!

763362 tn?1236624790 I have been referred to Physio and had an initial assesment where the consultant said that it looks like Degenerative Disc Disease, he said the only way to determine this better is by having an MRI scan, on going back to my G.P.

Avatar f tn I have recently had an MRI scan and the report has indicated that I have a L5/S1 circumferential disc bulge whih displaces the exiting L5 nerve roots bilaterally.. On the left this effaces the perineural fate and contacts the L5 nerve root. A neurosurgeon has apparently reviewed my scan and said there is no evidence of this disc bulge without even seeing me and suggested tertherd cord syndrome should be investigated..
Avatar f tn Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.
