Avatar n tn Can anyone tell me if a small herniated disc with slight cord impingement cause upper middle abdominal pressure? The herniated disc is at T6 and T7.
Avatar m tn Hi guys. I finally convinced surgeon to send me for a second opinion, since burning nerves didn't help at all. It's been over a year since last mri, so new Dr asked for new scan before seeing me. I have two weeks to wait for visit but I got report and copies of the scan today. Need some help interpreting results. C5-6: Abnormal signal is noted extending posteriorly from the disc to the right of midline impressing upon the thecal sac and effacing a portion of it.
Avatar f tn i had an ct scan and mri back in october 1989 when i first hurt my back
Avatar n tn Mild disc protrusion almost same as disc herniated, but,It is a common misconception that neck pain always stems from the pressure of a slipped disc or a trapped nerve. This is misleading, the cause of neck pain is also inflammation stimulating nerves, causing the pain signal.most of neck pain like this. So you should go and see reputable doctor for second opinion... Good luck!

Avatar m tn Herniated disc impinged on the nerve at L2/3 level. Get a repeat MRI scan spine done to check if any disc degeneration or prolapsed at higher level causing back muscles atrophy. Consult a neurosurgeon immediately as this lateral curvature may also affect your posture, gait and respiration. Take care.
Avatar f tn I was only told it was CSM and stenosis of cervical and lumbar areas with no herniated discs (that was what I had previous ACDF for) and shown MRI scan of the narrowing at the aforementioned places.
881463 tn?1245345649 Junig, Thanks for the input and thought of a herniated disc. Would the chest CT I had picked up a herniated disc on the thoracic spine? Also you mention there are other conditions that could cause a similar pattern of symptoms. I was wondering like what based on the the wide range of tests I have had including negative Bone scan, Chest X Ray, Chest/abdominal ct with contrast, Gastrocopy, ecg/s heart stress test and allot of blood work ?
Avatar n tn Ossification or calcification seen posterior to the c3-c4 disc space level is likely ligamentous calcification although herniated calcified disc material cannot be excluded. What does this mean?
Avatar n tn I've just been diagnosed with a herniated disc. My option is a shot or back surgery. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn The difference in a herniated disc and a ruptured disc is... With a ruptured disc the pain never goes away. It is constant. With a herniated disc it can come and go depending on the position you are in. Herniated disc are painful but a ruptured disc is like a knife in your neck. I hope you feel better soon. Only and MRI will show you for sure.
450140 tn?1317947304 Hi there, its seems like I've had a lot back problems, in May 7, 2007 I was rear ended. I felt ok for the first few days. X- Rays of neck and lumbar didn't show any thing, an MRI was given for my lower back, I had Herniated disc, an bulge at L4-L5-s1. I had Nucleoplasty later that year. I never had my neck scanned, they said I had whiplash, ok no big deal or so I thought.
Avatar m tn Hi, Swollen lymph nodes in the neck are caused by viral or bacterial infections, inflammation or malignancy. Herniated disc doesn’t cause swollen glands in the neck. Please consult a neurologist for the treatment of the herniated disc and examination of the swollen glands in the neck to find out the cause of swelling. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
Avatar m tn My MRI says there is disc desiccation involving L4-L5 and L5-S1 disc. no focal herniated or significant bulging disc is seen. There is no evidence of central spinal stenosis or encroachment upon neuroforamina. But it also says that at disc levels L1-L2, there is a mild bulging with small focal central protrusion or herniated disc indenting anterior margin of thecal sac. No evidence of central spinal stenosis or encroachment upon neuroforamina. What does all this mean????
Avatar m tn Got my MRI results from lower back pain and numbness shoting in my left leg down to my foot. Had a physical therapist tell me I had 2 herniated disc, then had a Dr. tell me there is nothing in the report that shows I should be having pain. Can a Dr. that knows what he or she is talking about please tell me what the report really means, much appreciated. And I'm 26 years old by the way, is there anything I should be worried about? Thanks! FINDINGS: Vertebral body heights are maintained.
Avatar f tn Disc replacement surgery is relatively new as treatment for degenerative disc disease and herniated discs. The intent is to avoid fusion and maintain as much movement and function in the spine as possible. They have not been done as frequently as fusion surgeries and the longterm results have not been statistically recorded. Not all surgeries have the same results and it is unfortunate that the outcome you experienced with your surgery was not similar to the doctor's other patient.
1136103 tn?1260667675 Hey all About two years ago I was at work lifting things when I felt a jolt in my lower back, the jolt went from my head to my toes. It felt like my leg was on fire and it would go numb and if I was not holding on to something I would fall the pain in my lower back was unreal I felt like taking my own life it was the worst pain I have ever felt. Please keep in mind I am a health as can be 30 year old. Never was hurt never really saw doctors growing up.
Avatar m tn You have a herniated disc in your Lumbar spine. The MRI result should give size (usually in mm) and note whether there is nerve root impingment or spinal stenosis.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have some structure (either a lipoma or a herniated disc), touching but not compressing the spinal cord. However, it also sounds like ? another radiologist thought this was a lipoma, so this is unclear, and it is difficult for me to comment further. Whether the structure is a lipoma or a herniated disc, or whether you have both a known lipoma and in addition a herniated disc, surgery may not necessarily be necessary.
Avatar m tn The MRI mainly indicates a small herniated disc at L4-L5 and degenerative changes between L5 and S1. Fortunately there is no spinal cord or spinal nerve compression. There may be radiculopathy causing the pain. The treatment is conservation with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory pain killer, manual traction, physiotherapy, lumbar corset etc. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!
Avatar m tn t really been diagnosed with anything yet. The neuro has suggested what sounds like a herniated disc putting pressure on a nerve. In some cases that requires surgery. In others, committed physical therapy will get rid of the pain. The MRI will determine if the disc is actually the problem, and how severe it is. In addition, the neuro is throwing a wide net with the other testing so it sounds like she's in great hands.
Avatar f tn I had been diagnosed with a small herniated disc in my lower back. Lumbar l-5. I have been dealing with back pain since April 2015. I've already been treated by a chiropractor for 8 weeks with no relief. I then Was referred to a pain management doctor and had a total of three epidurals and still no relief. My pain is so bad that I can't stand for more then 5 minutes at a time and have pain all around my back and pelvic area, And all the way down my legs.
