Avatar m tn My daughter 11 months seems to have hearing problem she was under gone auditory test seems to be failed and conducted MRI and CT done for both ear. She has regular cold with running nose for quite a long time. Cold does not cured for longer period very rarely she is normal. MRI Scan and CT Scan seems to be fine result shows All result are normal Both mastoid aircells are hypocellular Scan Impression Mucosal thickening in the LT Tympanic cavity encasing the LT middle ear ossicles.
Avatar n tn The ENT was likely trying to rule out an acoustic neuroma, which can cause dramatic hearing loss in the affected ear. While the CT scan radiologist was looking specifically at your sinuses, I suspect they also took pictures of the brain at the same scan, so you might ask the radiology department if they did. If they say yes, ask if you can get a copy of the MRI on disc. Then, since you are concerned about tumor, get a referral and take the disc to a neurosurgeon or neurologist.

Avatar n tn then the dizziness got worss. They gave me 3 weeks of antibiotics only to find out through CT scan and MRI all was fine. They Dx me with vertigo (from where)...they cant tell me if its vestibular neuritis? Wouldn't the MRI show that? The ear pressure and dizzies are still there. They give me Ativan to sleep. HOW LONG DOES THIS LAST? I AM GOING INSANE!!! I found a VRT Physiotherapist. DO I HAVE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO MY VESTIBULAR SYSTEM.
Avatar m tn Hi everyone... thanks for having this community... my next step is a MRI with contrast... totally taken by surprise although all of the symptoms are dead on... lots of pain ..I've had 3 lower back surgeries, 1 neck with a metal plate and 6 screws from a whiplash... can someone please help...thank you Normal gray-white differentiation is present. There is no CT evidence of acute cortical ischemia. Subtle patchy low attention is seen in the left frontal sub corral white matter.
Avatar n tn I recently had an MRI of my spine and brain due to numbness on the right side of my face and left foot. The hospital called me to come back and have another MRI with contrast done. When I went in they said they wanted to look closer at my ears...... Immediately after they did the MRI with contrast they sent me for a CT scan of the temporal bones.... Could there possibly be a link between my ears and having autonomic dysfunction???? Does anyone else have problems with their ears??
425189 tn?1210470255 i had a mri done a couple weeks back plus a cat scan everything came back normal. i had blood work done and a ekg. all was normal. like u said inner ear problem my balance is off. but i dont get dizzy or vomit. make a appointment with the ent doctor.
Avatar f tn The first MRI was to check the nerves in my middle ear, which were normal. The MRI showed a cyst in my pineal gland. The doctor at the MRI center would not issue a report on the second scan because they needed more images. ?? Friday was a more detailed scan of the area slightly above my cerebellum, and the pineal gland cyst. I know I'm not crazy, but I feel that they are somehow connected. I have never suffered from headaches before.
Avatar n tn She said that my ear looked perfect inside, but wanted to see the MRI to look at to see if there might be something else causing the pain in my one ear. I should mention that I only get the pain if I go outside and it is chilly and the cold air hits my ear. I then wake up that night with a bad earache. So, I brought a copy of the MRI to her and she said there was a thumbsize spot on the mastoid on the one ear.
Avatar n tn The ENT specialist said my Audilogy show classic menieres, but refered me for an MRI scan to be sure, Mri scan show ears are OK,howver enat specialist as refered report to neurologist for 2nd opinion. I wandering is this normal, what is the neurologist looking for.
Avatar m tn Brain MRI WITH contrast and focusing specifically on the inner-ear area. An MRI without contrast might show an acoustic neuroma, but I think that to rule out even a small acoustic neuroma, you need to have it done with contrast. (That is the "gold standard.
5531927 tn?1445274919 To determine the underlying cause, complete physical examination as well as imaging studies such as CT scan may need to be done. Take care and do keep us posted with the MRI result. Best regards.
5531927 tn?1445274919 My ct scan was normal but I still have hearing loss and fullness in left ear. I also get headaches, have some dizziness (but mild) and very mild tinnitus. My specialist and my family Dr both suspect a small acoustic neurons but my MRI is still 6 months away. The question is, how big does a neurons have to be before a ct will show it and also do you think my Dr. Would be fairly convinced that's what it is before he mentions the possibility of a neuroma?
Avatar m tn I had my CT Scan this morning and you guys taught me well - I snagged a copy of the scan on CD before I left. I have looked at the scan and I believe that I can see the my lesion on T3.... Is this possible.... However, the boneheads didn't use contrast and I argued with them about it. I believe that I will need to go back. The purpose was to look at a place in my lungs.

Avatar n tn hey, have you considered a stroke? Get an MRI. That is the only way that they can see what is actually happening. I have had two full strokes and a TIA with the same thing happening as you, but not for so long. Check it out, it would be really worth the time! In fact, they thought it was just a migraine to begin with, and now I am having it all over again, HMMMMMM?
5531927 tn?1445274919 Hello, I'm current waiting for a CT scan appointment as my MRI isn't until 7 months from now to rule out a suspected acoustic neuroma. I saw an ENT who confirmed high frequency hearing loss in my left ear. My symptoms have changed from just fullness in that ear to frequent headaches, very mild tinnitus, one pupil is bigger than the other, and I can hear my eyes move when the room is quiet. That last one doesn't appear to be a normal acoustic neuroma symptom.
Avatar m tn 4 years ago i started with deafness and noises in my left ear i was sent for an MRI scan and given an earing aid , but all the time I new that the problem with some form of build up behind my ear drum, and eventually the problem dissappeared , 18 months ago i started with the same symptoms and again i was sent for MRI scan and ear tests but this time the problem is not going away , I have tried every nasel spray on the marked and every decongestant oil available.
Avatar n tn I visited my doc 3 months ago with severe pain behind my ear and was prescribed antibiotics. The pain persisted and i was sent to hospital for an MRI scan which produced no results.I was given a further course of antibiotics and also had a CT scan which also showed nothing irregular.I had my ears irrigated and was seen by an ENT consultant who stated that my ears were in good order.
Avatar n tn I have just been diagnosed with TN. I have had a cat scan and MRI is scheduled. I am on 1200mg/day of Gabapentin. It has helped some but it has not got rid of pain. My pain has a somebperiods where I get a sudden sharp pain in my right ear but I always have a dull, throbbing aching pain in my jaw, cheek, ear, temple. Always with a horrible headache as well. The pain is just unrelenting. I was just wondering how others deal with this?
