Avatar n tn An ultrasound and an uptake scan are different tests. :o) Didn't know FNA's were so expensive though...ouch.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know of an ENT practitioner in the Pittsburgh area who would take me on a payment plan, so I can get treatment right away? If not, I will end up saving for months before I can afford the CT scan I am pretty sure I need. Thanks for any help!
Avatar f tn I would like to get some information how much it can cost for us when we go to the hospital. I have heard that it can be $4500. Maybe someone can advice the price for lumbar tap/puncture & a blood graph as a confirmatory diagnosis. I will appreciate any information.
Avatar f tn Insurance contracted rates will ALWAYS be higher than an uninsured rate. If you pay the uninsured rate though you have to sign a waiver that you do not have insurance and the money you spend does not go towards your deductible. A cash price for MRI Pelvis W/WO contrast in the Dallas/Fort Worth area would be around $550 which would include the radiologists read.
Avatar f tn t that expensive, I am also uninsured, but my CT Scan cost $250..now an MRI would be around $1500...I know how you feel about the money situation. I have asked my doctor 2 times to give me an MRI and he just wants me to continue taking the medicine and if I do not see results in 2-3 weeks then he will do one(That will put me around 6 weeks of putting chemicals in my body).
Avatar f tn Can anyone give me a ballpark of the cost for the suppressant drugs after a transplant. Just want to get an idea, know no one can give me exacts but any info would help. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.
Avatar n tn Hi Grace, I just wanted to point out that a lot of us here in the US are uninsured and don't have a "provider". therefore it's the cost and means of getting the prescription itself that is the big hurdle to getting the Acyclovir treatment. Do you know of any other ways an uninsured person can get a doctor to write a prescription without having to pay $300 for an out of pocket office visit?
Avatar m tn Lungs can be imaged with a ventilation-perfusion scan or a CT scan to look for a clot. Each test has its benefits and limitations, and use of these tests is dependent upon the clinical situation. If there are technical issues so that the lungs cannot be imaged, an ultrasound of the legs may be performed to look for a thrombus (clots); the concept is that if the symptoms are present of a pulmonary embolus and a clot is found in the leg, then the diagnosis can be inferred.

Avatar m tn I'm a 25 year old, independent, uninsured, full-time college student. My ankle suddenly got swollen a couple years and I thought it would eventually go away; it didn’t. After a few doctor visits, the only answer was the diagnosis of chronic ankle laxity (I have weak ankles). I exercised on a regular basis, and considered myself fairly healthy. I then experienced swelling on my wrist and fingers. I went to my school health center and according to my lab results I have Rheumatoid Arthritis.
936499 tn?1254819157 Hi, Just a suggestion about the MRI, rather than having to wait for the "screw up" to be fixed, could you call some private MRI places in your area and see if they ever offer free MRI's to people who are uninsured. I live in NY and there is a large MRI place out here with many offices that offer once a month free MRI's to people who are uninsured. You must have a script and tell them you have no insurance etc.
Avatar m tn I had an MRI of the brain back in May, to investigate various cognitive / neurological problems I've been experiencing since the start of 2009 (mild confusion, memory problems, muscle twitching, etc). This came back normal (I have neither copies of the scans , nor the radiographers report - just a letter from neurologist saying all findings were normal).
Avatar f tn Each time I have gone to the hospital they have done all the routine bloodwork and tests. they have done an x ray of my neck and spine and a CT scan of my head and they said evrything came back completely normal. They said they found a cyst in the sinus but it was nothing they were concerned about. I am just wondering if these symptoms could be caused by the cyst?
333672 tn?1273792789 Apparently, Acorda has both a co-pay assistance program and a patient assistance program for the uninsured and underinsured. There are some details at http://brassandivory.blogspot.com/2010/02/annual-price-for-ampyra-set-at-12850.html with more info in the comments. And yes, the base price for a 30-day supply is $1,056. The way the co-pay program works is that if your co-pay is more than $40, Acorda will pay the difference so the patient's max out-of-pocket is $40.
Avatar m tn t have a doctor, or have an issue with insurance or cost, call your local health department and ask what services they offer for low income or uninsured residents.
Avatar m tn s excellent suggestions, check with your city and state to see about medical coverage for the unemployed/uninsured. Most states have one or more plans to help out. You can get treatment at a cost you can afford. Meds can often be had for free b/c most pharma companies have programs to provide meds at no cost to unemployed/uninsured people. Just make sure you ask for it. Some clinics, hospitals, or doctor's offices forget about this option.
