Avatar f tn Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.
Avatar f tn I had a shoulder decompression and rotator cuff tear repair about 5 years ago, A few months ago I had a ultrasound which showed a full thickness tear, bursitis and osteoarthritis, went to see a ortho surgeon who then got me to have a MRI scan. The scan showed no tear but alot of fluid in the shoulder, he called it a angry shoulder? Is it possible for a MRI to be wrong? If not what is with the fluid in the shoulder? can someone please help.
Avatar f tn How long does it take to get an MRI done and read to finished report in the U.S. ? Cost? Overseas? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
Avatar n tn I understand these should be avoided while pregnant, but what if they are medically necessary? Has anyone gotten an MRI or Cat Scan while pregnant? What was the outcome, did it have an affect on your baby? Was it worth it? I have been experiencing agonizing pain in my left shoulder, neck, and arm, that sometimes radiates to my chest, making it hard to breathe. I am having a really hard time sleeping, and even functioning, and my quality of life has gone down because of it.

Avatar m tn I do have a copy of my MRI. I also had a CT scan done, both of which I have copies of (the CT scan was because the drs thought I had a blocked sinus cavity). I have yet to have any type of scan of my spine though, just brain.
Avatar n tn I've been to the doctor several times about my shoulder pain and nobody seems to know what's wrong with me. The last time I went, I was told I have arthritis in my shoulder and needed PT, but I don't have any insurance so I can't afford to go. Does anybody know how to cope with this debilitating pain? Most of the time I can't move my shoulder, I can't pick anything up, it just plain hurts to move it! The naproxen I was prescribed did nothing to help me out.
Avatar m tn I've had chronic neck and shoulder pain since I was 4 years old. I went in for an MRI and it shows a white lump on the back of my neck behind my spine. Wondering if anyone knows what this could be? http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f253/crystal_brown11/Neck%20MRI_zps3vmo8ro0.jpg [URL=http://s49.photobucket.com/user/crystal_brown11/media/Neck%20MRI_zps3vmo8ro0.jpg.html][IMG]http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f253/crystal_brown11/Neck%20MRI_zps3vmo8ro0.
Avatar m tn side and in face , alil down shoulder but not arm, had a ct scan shows disk disease and sending me to get mri, they say ct scan dosent show pinched nerve, it did show problem with c-4 and c-5 disc, (degeneritive disc disease that is causing pinched nerve.
Avatar m tn I had an MRI of the brain back in May, to investigate various cognitive / neurological problems I've been experiencing since the start of 2009 (mild confusion, memory problems, muscle twitching, etc). This came back normal (I have neither copies of the scans , nor the radiographers report - just a letter from neurologist saying all findings were normal).
Avatar n tn I have had awful pain in my right arm/shoulder for 4 months. MRI showed torn biceps tendon and other small bursal tears and tendonitis, and a rotator cuff tear. Would a bone metastases have been revealed on the MRI of my arm and shoulder? Should I ask for a bone scan? I am 57 years old and have been cancer free since a stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis 8 years ago. I am worried that the pain does not go away.
Avatar f tn Had a MRI in October. Doctor sent me to physical therapy due to a fall with me landing on my right shoulder. It is still acting up. Now he wants me to have a "arthrogram MRI." I went to get the procedure done today. The radiologist will not give me the arthrogram MRI. He says that I am "severely allergic" to it. I get severe hives, vomit, eyes swell badly. He wants my ortho doctor to give me a prescription for two medications that may counteract it.
Avatar f tn t that expensive, I am also uninsured, but my CT Scan cost $250..now an MRI would be around $1500...I know how you feel about the money situation. I have asked my doctor 2 times to give me an MRI and he just wants me to continue taking the medicine and if I do not see results in 2-3 weeks then he will do one(That will put me around 6 weeks of putting chemicals in my body).
Avatar n tn I wish I could tell you an easier solution than to visit the MD and get an MRI done of her shoulder, but that will truly get to the bottom of her problem. Check with your insurance first to see if they cover the MRI and if so, demand one from your physician. They are there to work for you, and if you're not satisfied with what they tell you or do for you, find another letting the original one know he's been fired.
Avatar m tn Hi there.. For the last year and a half I have had pains in my left shoulder which also seems to be giving me "pins & needles" down to my finger tips sometimes. the pain is coming from the underneath of my shoulder blade and normally hurts more while sitting down.
Avatar m tn Most beneficial is either a CT scan or a MRI scan. Your PCP will determine which scan will be the better diagnostic tool based on his clinical examination. It is also possible, as ChronicPain suggests that you actually injured the anatomy in your cervical spine. Again there are too many possibilities to "guess" which injury may have occurred when you pushed that vehicle. Please let us know how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I wouold strongly advise you to see your Doctor and possibly ask for either an x-ray or MRI. I am not a candidate for an MRI since I have metal in the back.
Avatar f tn ve not had an MRI before, anyway the MRI will likely not show up all that can cause neck and shoulder pain but at the very least it will help rule out a lot of causes if your results are not abnormal. Hope it helps.....
Avatar f tn I've been told that to have an MRI taken of my shoulder 4 weeks post op after having rotator cuff surgery would be a waste of time as the pictures would be too clouded by inflammation from the recent surgery to be able to see anything. Is this true? A Radiographer has told me this wouldn't be true and you could still see the pictures clearly enough.
Avatar n tn An ultrasound and an uptake scan are different tests. :o) Didn't know FNA's were so expensive though...ouch.
Avatar n tn X-ray is must, but it will tell about the condition of the bone. To know about the muscle pathology, i would suggest you to do the MRI scan and then proceed to an Orthopaedician.
Avatar m tn I was involved in a road accident xmas day 2009, i was teated for a frozen shoulder however the pain continued and after 10 months was referred to an MRI scan and Xray, mri showed that my supraspinatus was severed, I was seen by an orthopeadic surgeon Feb 2012 who wrote a report which stated that I had a partial tear pre-existing, I have never had the effected shoulder examined prior to the accident as I have never had any problems with that shoulder, the report states that the full tear has bee
Avatar f tn you might contact the MRI facility, sometimes they can lower the cost if you have no insurance or work out a payment plan. back/shoulder pain on LEFT side can often be attributed to cardiac problems. Are you up to date in that area?
