mri-scan

Avatar m tn I had an MRI of the brain back in May, to investigate various cognitive / neurological problems I've been experiencing since the start of 2009 (mild confusion, memory problems, muscle twitching, etc). This came back normal (I have neither copies of the scans , nor the radiographers report - just a letter from neurologist saying all findings were normal).
Avatar n tn I live in the uk. Is there a private mri scan centre where I can book an appointment for a thyroid scan?. Also does anybody know where i can have a thyroid re-uptake test done privately?.
Avatar n tn Hi guys I wanted to know if anyone knows where to get a private head MRI scan done in the Birmingham region. I've been suffering from this head related illness for almost 2 years and the doctor thinks it's depression which I disagree because the only thing that gets me depressed is the problem itself I'm suffering from.
Avatar f tn So i sched a private gender scan. They had bundles and i chose the one that was on sale for 65 dollars. I was wondering if its 65 dollars or 65 dollars plus tax?
1218873 tn?1300091216 But over the past 12 months I have started to learn a bit of what thing cost, and it appears that even if you go private they are considerabley cheaper than in the US which to me dosen't seem quite right. In the Uk it is only a tiny percentage of people go private and even if you do, if you are suffering a long term illness you tend to be pushed over to the NHS as they have the specialists and equipment.
Avatar f tn I went private at 7 weeks for an early scan cost 40 pound am in UK
Avatar f tn I have recently had an MRI scan and the report has indicated that I have a L5/S1 circumferential disc bulge whih displaces the exiting L5 nerve roots bilaterally.. On the left this effaces the perineural fate and contacts the L5 nerve root. A neurosurgeon has apparently reviewed my scan and said there is no evidence of this disc bulge without even seeing me and suggested tertherd cord syndrome should be investigated..

1036535 tn?1278502599 So if one has , say, $600 for a private MRI (yes that is the cost), and knows Medicare will refund $500 of that, why wait? From helen's comment above, it sounds very similar in Canada. So RedFlame, I reckon the majority of stuff you hear would be propaganda. And personally I would MUCH rather pay a tax of 1.5% and know I have health care which wont send me bankrupt than pay 10% (as stated above by.......
Avatar f tn Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.
Avatar f tn My suggestion would be to call around and ask both private and public MRI clinics if they offer it. I had this discussion with a fellow Chiarian and after some calling around, she managed to find a clinic that did one in Vancouver (BC). Though you may have more success back East with this, it may come down to having to go privately and paying for it.
Avatar f tn It could cost thousands..
1661682 tn?1313135396 but my boyfriends sister had a 4D scan and she loved it and i really want one done. does anyone know how much i would cost or how to make an appoinment for 1.
Avatar f tn I booked a private scan for 16 weeks 1 day, it cost me £79 and I found out I was having a girl.
Avatar f tn For me money isnt an issue (im blessed i get to say that and pray it stays that way) if i get a private scan i plan on getting the package with 2 visits so id find the gender out now and get to come back later in my pregnancy to see the more mature face.
Avatar f tn If you go to see a private neurologist, they will want a copy of your MRI anyway. Why not, as a first step, get your MRI CD which shows all the images, plus you should get a copy of the report as well. Reading through the report a few times might help you decide on a direction. I've learned that keeping a copy of EVERYTHING is really important, whether you go private or public. I actually was less than confident in an MRI I had, and got a second opinion online from a radiologist.
230948 tn?1235844329 I had my 2nd MRI done at a private MRI company. I had contrast also, but before they could give the contrast we had to wait on the EMT's to arive. They had to be in the room as the contrast was going in incase of allergic reaction. I am thankful that they were there. No reaction but the tech had a hard time finding a vein, but the EMT got it with no problem. Hope this was helpful!
Avatar f tn t pay much, so the rest of us make up the difference. The cost for those of us with private insurance is not the same as for those with Medicare and Medicaid because the government will not pay much. In this case, it isn't the fault of the insurance companies.
Avatar f tn I found out at my 20 week scan. I know you can find out sooner, but my doctor checked all the anatomy that day too so she combines the two scans into one around 20 weeks.
Avatar n tn You might be able to ask for a private scan through GP but this will cost upwards of $250 dollars a session. I looked into it... Otherwise if baby is appearing to little or big they may give you an extra growth scan.
Avatar f tn So back to being a cherry lol. I couldnt wait for my 12 weeks scan so I booked a private ond. Cost £100 but totally relieved my worries as I too dont feel all that pregnant. Baby was peefect with a strong heart beat. Now I only have to wait for 2 weeks to get my NHS scan.
Avatar n tn An ultrasound and an uptake scan are different tests. :o) Didn't know FNA's were so expensive though...ouch.
Avatar f tn Just read a post about this women getting a private scan and they were told that it looks like a girl. I think it was around week 14/15. The next ultrasound they had with their doc found out it was a boy instead.
Avatar m tn did they order a follow up with an MRI ? this usually gives a better picture on what it is. I can tell you that most lesions on the liver are hemangiomas which are benign and nothing to worry about.
