Avatar n tn on the white matter of her brain and suggested we follow up with an MRI. The MRI was performed this morning with the results being the same...... The largest of the "spots" was about 2cm and the others were smaller. Our familty doctor mentioned that due to the location of the "spots", they are not typically located in the areas that my wife has them, and of course didn't seem to alarmed of what had been found.
Avatar m tn Is Copaxone available in India? If so, I wonder how much the Copaxone would cost and how much you can you buy at one time and transfer it with you on a plane? You are right--health care costs are very, very expensive. I spend about $10,000/year on health care (which includes the insurance, medicines, doctor costs, etc.). Great thread!
Avatar m tn I'm sure the cost varies from one area to another, but we would have no way of knowing what the cost of this or any other medication would be for people in different locations. You would need to check the price with whoever would be dispensing that medication to you (pharmacist? clinic? doctor). Best wishes...

1218873 tn?1300091216 Over here in the UK, we generally don't know what the cost of tests and drugs are, as they are covered by the NHS. But over the past 12 months I have started to learn a bit of what thing cost, and it appears that even if you go private they are considerabley cheaper than in the US which to me dosen't seem quite right.
Avatar m tn Do you think a disease of the cornea could cause the temporary blindness symptoms? My friend had the X-ray and has just been told that he has a minor brain tumour. I just don't see how this would explain the eyes watering and burning symptoms (could be unrelated i guess) and why it would cause the blindness just some of the time (mainly in the mornings).

Avatar n tn I got one implanted in Delhi at Escorts Hospital in 2008. A single lead ICD, Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator capable of pacing and defibrillator (I am not sure if a pacemaker has only one function i.e. pacing) cost me approx Rs 450000 (USD 10000) including surgery. More complicated ones could cost double. In India you can negotiate the cost with representatives of different ICD brands and get a good deal. There are many models of ICDs with different battery life.

Avatar m tn The same drugs (which are amazing at healing genotype 3 by the way) will cost you $1500 in India. The Indian generics are of the same quality. Your issue might be in getting a prescription. Going to India might be a solution, get a prescription and buy the meds there, maybe do your teeth cheap and have a break all at the same time. Look at Greg Jefferys blog online, it is easy to find and it's packed with golden info on getting medicine at a cheaper rate than the western world rates.
