5084534 tn?1363363057 My father, 66 years old, started seeing dark spot on his vision on December. Since ophthalmologist in my country seem clueless treating my father's problem, I went to Singapore. After 1,045 SING$ test and scan, they give my father PDT Laser (5th Feb 2013), which the drug alone cost 2,700$, and the PDT laser operation + the surgeon was ard 1,700$. Okay, no problem as long as my father's eye can be helped.
Avatar f tn Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.
Avatar m tn 48hrs ago I had sex with a prostitute in Singapore. I had used a condom the entire time and had vaginal intercourse with her. The condom stayed on the entire time. At the time however, I had a 2x2mm pimple on the corona of my penis, that had just burst 1 day before and was quite red and swollen and had some small amount of pus coming out. Immediately after I climaxed, I went to the shower and washed myself off with the condom still on.
Avatar m tn I had an MRI of the brain back in May, to investigate various cognitive / neurological problems I've been experiencing since the start of 2009 (mild confusion, memory problems, muscle twitching, etc). This came back normal (I have neither copies of the scans , nor the radiographers report - just a letter from neurologist saying all findings were normal).
405614 tn?1329144114 Im in Indiana & know that MRI's can cost any where from $300 to $5000. It depends what all they are going to scan (head, neck, back), if they will be useing contrast, & if it is reg MRI or wide open. If insurence is an issue, talk to neuro about it, sometimes they will re-duce the cost. Hope this helps!
Avatar n tn An ultrasound and an uptake scan are different tests. :o) Didn't know FNA's were so expensive though...ouch.

Avatar m tn they opted not to treat his hepc and cirrhosis. They said the lesion was irregular.
Avatar f tn I will like to know if there are similar cases you have come across and what will be the possible diagnosis or further tests required? As doctors in Singapore are saying they may never find a diagnosis and given that Singapore is such a small country, we may have very little such cases for references. In addition, are there any suggestions on how we can help improve my son's breathing muscles? What are the alternative mode of ventilation we can consider? Thank you so much.

Avatar f tn How long does it take to get an MRI done and read to finished report in the U.S. ? Cost? Overseas? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.
Avatar n tn does insurance in Singapore not cover all the costs?
987762 tn?1671273328 The MRI The purpose of a MRI or magnetic resonance imaging machine, is to harmlessly work out what internally is physically wrong with you, without involving exploratory surgery. MRIs have 3 types: conventional, open bore and fully open. In an conventional MRI, a long toroidal (Doughnut-shaped) electromagnet supplies the electromagnetic force, and the subject is put through a long 'tunnel', where a full-body scan is supplied.
Avatar f tn Other than cost, is there a reason I should have a CT scan instead of an MRI? I would rather not have the radiation exposure of a CT scan if an MRI will produce adequate data. Thank you!
Avatar n tn Exposure took place in singapore,i was in a bar, could be considered bar pick ups.The woman that accompanied to hotel, insisted i wore a condom so we bought it one near the hotel, due to my drunkness(Lousy reason) i didnt wore one, eventually. The woman thought i wore untill a part where she felt i wasnt wearing ,she was shocked and after that we stopped , I heard bar picks up are more expensive it cost me 100 bucks for sake for anxiety! can anyone help me evaluate my stats and risks?
567677 tn?1246767776 One more thought about the cost - did they give you a price for the MRI test? See if you can get that negotiated rate like they do with the big insurance companies. I'm with Anthem and it seems to me they only pay about 20-25% of the rate that is billed for my MRI's. It would be great if you could get this worked out too.
Avatar f tn is an MRI or an ultrasound as accurate as a CT scan in determining if the spot on my liver is a hemangioma and not cancerous? Other than cost, is there a reason I should have a CT scan instead of an MRI? I would rather not have the radiation exposure of a CT scan if an MRI will produce adequate data. Furthermore, should I see a specialist instead of my PCP about this? Thank you!
Avatar m tn It's not a cost issue. My doctor doesn't want to send me to MRI nor CT scan. She says that i don't need to do MRI, because CT didn't showed anyting abnormal, and that i am too young for serious disorders. I find this strange, because it was 8 years ago, and i assume that something could changed. Or maybe i'm wrong?
Avatar m tn Honestly I can help you if you are in Singapore. Read my Poll- HIV testing in Singapore..
