mri-scan

Avatar n tn An ultrasound and an uptake scan are different tests. :o) Didn't know FNA's were so expensive though...ouch.
Avatar f tn Is it necessary to have more than one MRI scan done. I have only ever had the one scan, 15 yrs ago which was when I was given my official dx, despite having several episodes/relapses since. Initially told I had RRMS now being told I have SPMS with relapses.
Avatar f tn s office to shame, with an unnecessary fish-tank, and not enough medical equipment!
Avatar f tn Wow....they didn't do a gender scan? Where not only you find out the gender but they do measurements and check fir abnormalities? That should have been done around 20wks. My ob office does it at 21wks. They said the baby is more developed and easier to tell the sex.
Avatar m tn I had an MRI of the brain back in May, to investigate various cognitive / neurological problems I've been experiencing since the start of 2009 (mild confusion, memory problems, muscle twitching, etc). This came back normal (I have neither copies of the scans , nor the radiographers report - just a letter from neurologist saying all findings were normal).
Avatar f tn I would like to get some information how much it can cost for us when we go to the hospital. I have heard that it can be $4500. Maybe someone can advice the price for lumbar tap/puncture & a blood graph as a confirmatory diagnosis. I will appreciate any information.
Avatar f tn Dr Zenn at Duke told me the first step of Diep will cost sixty thousand.. with tmy insurance paying eighty percent of what they think he should have charged. I have Mega Life and they do not pay well. They only pay a maximum of two thousand for ambulatory procedures. Would breast reductioin and lift by ambulatory? Would tissue expander placement be ambulatory. How much would that cost... a range? How much for the implant placement. Is it ambulatory as well?
Avatar m tn did they order a follow up with an MRI ? this usually gives a better picture on what it is. I can tell you that most lesions on the liver are hemangiomas which are benign and nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn Other than cost, is there a reason I should have a CT scan instead of an MRI? I would rather not have the radiation exposure of a CT scan if an MRI will produce adequate data. Thank you!
Avatar f tn That was seven months ago I’ve had an MRI of my hip which shows a slight tear in the labrum I have had a CAT scan which showed nothing of consequence in and a prior hernia repair from 1998 to still be intact. If I lift anything over 30 pounds I get tight in the groin area. And soreness in my abdominal muscles as well as sometimes the hip the thigh and in my left Glute. I also limp for a couple days but go back to normal after that .
987762 tn?1671273328 The MRI The purpose of a MRI or magnetic resonance imaging machine, is to harmlessly work out what internally is physically wrong with you, without involving exploratory surgery. MRIs have 3 types: conventional, open bore and fully open. In an conventional MRI, a long toroidal (Doughnut-shaped) electromagnet supplies the electromagnetic force, and the subject is put through a long 'tunnel', where a full-body scan is supplied.
Avatar n tn The surgeon can cost from 10k up and the hospital will cost you from $65k up, depending on if there is an ICU stay, then add 100k. If you are paying cash, ask for a cash discount and of course, if you look at what insurance pays, it is about 1/3 of that or less with their *arrangements*.
798555 tn?1292787551 NP was cheap to, Its pays to compare who you get it from as brick and mortar pharmas use different distributors sometimes. That diff alone for NP is $90 cash vs $250 cash for 90 days in my case. 1 Mile can save me that much $. Walgreen's has a discount club for cash payers.....then its $50 for 90 days. If that "club card" goes, I'll be paying more. It was a tier 1 drug with my old insc, tier two with the new one. This cash club thing is better than my incs Rx coverage.
1532707 tn?1312155924 Before you commit to either, if it is going to be out of your pocket, call the facility and discuss discounting the cost if possible,. The cash price for tests and services can often be negotiated if you are not being covered by insurance. Mary is right about MSAA - follow through with them and their assistance plan for MRI's.
Avatar f tn If you pay the uninsured rate though you have to sign a waiver that you do not have insurance and the money you spend does not go towards your deductible. A cash price for MRI Pelvis W/WO contrast in the Dallas/Fort Worth area would be around $550 which would include the radiologists read. Facilities do not advertise uninsured pricing because it violates their contracts with insurance companies, and the reimbursement rate is far less.
Avatar m tn It's not a cost issue. My doctor doesn't want to send me to MRI nor CT scan. She says that i don't need to do MRI, because CT didn't showed anyting abnormal, and that i am too young for serious disorders. I find this strange, because it was 8 years ago, and i assume that something could changed. Or maybe i'm wrong?
Avatar f tn is an MRI or an ultrasound as accurate as a CT scan in determining if the spot on my liver is a hemangioma and not cancerous? Other than cost, is there a reason I should have a CT scan instead of an MRI? I would rather not have the radiation exposure of a CT scan if an MRI will produce adequate data. Furthermore, should I see a specialist instead of my PCP about this? Thank you!
567677 tn?1246767776 One more thought about the cost - did they give you a price for the MRI test? See if you can get that negotiated rate like they do with the big insurance companies. I'm with Anthem and it seems to me they only pay about 20-25% of the rate that is billed for my MRI's. It would be great if you could get this worked out too.
1310633 tn?1430224091 (Reuters) - The White House may soon propose the biggest change in U.S. food aid since the programs were created during the Cold War - donating cash for hunger relief instead of shipping American-grown food thousands of miles to global trouble spots, say farm groups and charities. Reformers have argued for years that cash donations, the method used by most nations, are more efficient and speedier. But food donation has been the favored U.S.
