Avatar n tn I have no neck pain and good ROM with each shoulder. When I raise my right arm/shoulder up sideways though, I do feel the right arm pain. I'm a 4yr breast cancer survivor and we were concerned about a possible cancer spread so we MRI'd the shoulders 2 weeks ago and the scans came back negative (I don't know that they covered the arm areas though..
Avatar n tn I understand these should be avoided while pregnant, but what if they are medically necessary? Has anyone gotten an MRI or Cat Scan while pregnant? What was the outcome, did it have an affect on your baby? Was it worth it? I have been experiencing agonizing pain in my left shoulder, neck, and arm, that sometimes radiates to my chest, making it hard to breathe. I am having a really hard time sleeping, and even functioning, and my quality of life has gone down because of it.

The pain is 24/7, it hurts so much and nothing will help, tried heating pads, hot showers and alot of aspirin. Pain is going up the left side of neck and down left shoulder into arm. Have not had chance to go to doctor yet but am wondering if anyone with cervical disc problems has ever had it to affect temple and jaw area of face??? Am thinking maybe this isn't TMJ at all....
Avatar m tn Hi Joseph, I am sorry you are having so much pain in your arm. Pain can be so life altering and you are so young to have such horrid pain. An MRI most certainly will diagnosis a tendon or a ligament injury. I am at a loss as to what could have happened when your friend fell on your arm. It sounds like your physicians have performed all the diagnostic procedures that should have revealed an injury to your arm. Trauma to an arm will normally result in with a sprain, strain or fracture.
Avatar f tn My doctor has now referred me to a rheumatologist as it is only them who can decide if I need an MRI scan because I insisted to my doctor that I must have an MRI scan to get to the bottom of all this. Arnica gel seems to help, in the meantime I will keep you informed, but greatly appreciate your views on this latest development, thanks, Jojo.
Avatar f tn hi, ive just attempted to ave an MRI scan done for ny neck, ive been in constant chroinc pain for months, i thought i would be fine having the scan..boy was i wrong, i ended up a blubbering mess, feel very foolish now, not being able to go through with it, i know i HAVE to get this done....or do I??
Avatar m tn Most beneficial is either a CT scan or a MRI scan. Your PCP will determine which scan will be the better diagnostic tool based on his clinical examination. It is also possible, as ChronicPain suggests that you actually injured the anatomy in your cervical spine. Again there are too many possibilities to "guess" which injury may have occurred when you pushed that vehicle. Please let us know how you are doing.
587778 tn?1261397118 Now the pain is starting to spread to my chest. I cannot lift anything with my left arm, I am in constant pain, and my arm is very weak. My primary prescribed a muscle relaxer and an anti-inflammatory. Neither is working. I had X-rays yesterday. But I have not gotten the results yet. Should I ask for an MRI or CTscan? Whichever is more definitive.
Avatar n tn hi i am having alot of pain in my right arm from my neck to elbow and sometimes in hand can you please tell me what i can do about this i dont sleep at night because of this my doctor gave me pills to take and it upsets my stomack.............
Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
Avatar n tn No store bought medications help, nor massaging, hot showers, ice packs, rest, or anything else I have tried. The pain is now also in my L arm, it is excrusiating. What can I do to help with the pain at home?
Avatar f tn Another issue I am having is not being to wipe with my right arm like I have always wiped. My right arm is weak and painful. Feels like muscle strain and at the elbow feels like joint pain. This started 3 months ago. I almost dropped my 2 year old niece one day. Ever since then I will not pick her up with that arm. Just thoughts.
Avatar n tn I posted a comment about burning pain, I just want to add that I been having this pain off and on since May 2012. I want to something called a PET Scan or MRI, some test that could help see whats going on with me, can I request these type of tests or what? My shoulder is hurting now and tender pain under arm close to breast.
Avatar f tn I had a cervical MRI done 14 Oct 08. One of the findings was hemangioma in C4. I need to know how serious this is and could it be the cause of the severe pain & lack of control in my left arm?
Avatar f tn I have bulging discs at c5-c6 and t1-t2, I also have very bad arm pain with weakness. My doctors don't think it's related either, but internet research says otherwise. I meet with a nuerologist in 5 weeks. I am curious to see what they say and will watch for your reply. I too have a hard time sleeping because my arms are so painful.
Avatar n tn I have a lot of pain running through my left arm that i believe are cause from the degenrative disc as diagnosed through a cervical MRI. I have pupils that are of different sizes and have had muscle spams and "vibrations" in my legs. Can this be from the nreve issues from the degerative disc? I have had a brain CT that was negative, chest x ray that was negative, and have been clearing through an opthamologist for optical nerve issues.
Avatar f tn Good morning. I have had arm pain for a couple of weeks. Seemed like it might have been just from straining it during inventory. But it hasn't gotten better. It comes and goes, and gets much worse when I'm sitting. It doesn't hurt at all when I first get out of bed. No apparent swelling. I haven't experienced any jaw or chest pains-but a cpouple of days ago, the bottom of my right foot became very painful when walking.
Avatar f tn I think it is more common in men, but sometimes chest pain can refer pain into the left arm. Did they ever do an echocardiogram on you or checked to see if your heart skips beats or anything when you're lying down? Have they considered cervical issues (neck position when laying)?
Avatar f tn Concerned with this unfamiliar sensation, I decided to go to see my GP about the symptoms. I was sent for a CT scan, ultra-sound scan and finally a MRI scan....the results were that I had a pinched nerve also with mild arithirits in the discs. MRI Cervical Spine says Torticollis to left. C5/C6 degeneration There is reversal of the normal cervical lordosis. Vertebral body height and intervertebral disc space height is maintained. There is loss of hydration in all of discs from C2/C3 to C6/C7.
