Avatar f tn I'm just nervous, I read that some people felt like they couldn't breath etc. That terrifies me lol! I have anxiety and I don't like not feeling myself breath lol!
Avatar f tn With my 1st born I got an epidural and I was looking into different pain relief options for this pregnancy. Any of you got morphine instead of an epidural and how was your experience?
5691681 tn?1375735348 t happen after the epidural..so again..confused lol. Have any of you ladies had a spinal? Spinal vs epidural? Thoughts/experiences?
Avatar f tn t care for pain meds at all. Motrin, morphine, codeine, vicodin, percocet, they all make me very very ill so the epidural actaully makes me more nervous than the idea of a natural birth.
Avatar f tn Morphine You can have instead. Makes you wanna throw up thou. They Gave me morphine with my 3rd because by the time I was in the hospital and I was already 5cm dilated and not even a min later I was 10.
Avatar f tn She said she was only offered a spinal for strong pain relief. I want the low dose epidural (walking Epidural) as an option for me in case IV pain relief doesn't work. I heard that they also use the *Anti Vomit* meds(Can't think of the name) along with the IV pain relief, and if that's the case....i'm looking at a more natural birth plan than intended lol. I want some drugs...but the Anti Vomit medication causes me to be VERY sleepy and it gives me a "high" feeling.
Avatar f tn By natural I mean medicine free not vaginal vs.
Avatar f tn I had waited as long as i could stand before taking the morphine and was scared if i didnt get the epidural how much it would hurt then. I didnt feel any real pain in getting it and after i had the epidural my baby popped out in under an hour. But like i said i waited till there was just about no choice. I knew when it was time . There was increased pressure on my bum almost felt like a terrible rock hard something but it was baby and veey uncomfy lol but not painful.
1380942 tn?1279156103 I have had nerve pain issues since 2001 resulting initially from bulging discs in lower 3 vertebrae 3, 4, and 5. I survive on 2 capsules of morphine and percocet as needed daily, band, bi-lateral epidural steroid injections every 6 to 8 months.
Avatar f tn Anyways, Onc/surgeon is recommending epidural for pain management ( I control the drip, just as with Morphine, etc. drips) instead of the traditional pain med stuff. The cath will be in place before surgery so when I wake up in recovery, it is already in action. I love the idea, just wondering if anyone out there has had this experience post surgically?
Avatar f tn especially after speaking wht the anestheisa clinic on the phone and they said they want me to come in to talkto the doctor because they might want to give me an epidural after the surgery for pain management if they do the surgery by invasive incision. is this common. as i have never had kids before i have never had an epidural and it kind of scares the beejeezus out of me. i always thought they used the morphine drip?
5692644 tn?1388472314 I'm not ruling out the epidural, but I'm not all for it either. I guess I just won't know until the time comes. I'm also planning on breastfeeding. I didn't want to use a pacifier since it was so hard to break my stepdaughter from one, but I heard it helps prevent SIDS so we'll be using one.
Avatar f tn Morphine if you're past the point of an epidural and a couple cm before delivery. It makes you all loopy but aware. That's how my friend explained it.
Avatar f tn I just had my baby Tuesday n I had both morphine n epidural u go in open minded but contractions do seriously hurt n does seriousness drain u if u have a long labor mines was 19 hours long! I start with morphine it only made me sleepy n.
Avatar f tn One of my dear friends shattered her ankle without crying out or shedding a single tear and ended up using morphine and an epidural during her labor. Practice breathing with your partner and be prepared to be totally unprepared for the pain of contractions. The nice thing about natural birth is that your body gives you time to adjust to what it's doing.
Avatar n tn Morphine doesn't help.
7819795 tn?1394500455 I did the morphone first it helped only a lil but I ended up getting the epidural cuz the contractions got to bad n close I'm terrified of needles but it really wasn't bad at all specially after feeling those contractions n they did it fast
210982 tn?1280983895 Yes, Morphine IS stronger than Percocet by far.
Avatar f tn m 40 weeks and 3 days, my cervix is not opened and the doctors think because I have not been getting sleep cause of contraction pain...I want to know if getting morphine is okay for baby?? Any did effects? And will my labor start after i wake up??
210982 tn?1280983895 Maybe you could just stop the morphine all together and just use the percocet. Morphine is more addictive and harder to wd from. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Doing really good on lyrica so hopefully will hold so i can get off morphine, i have been down to 30mg now for 4 days and dont feel any signs of withdrawals i went from 60mg .
Avatar f tn Thats, pretty scary in my opinion i would of used tge epidural instead of morphine.. Cuz that would of given me a heart attack if that happened to my baby...
Avatar f tn So they offered me morphine to stop the pain so I could rest . I refused and went home still in major pain . I walked around for hours here and then I tried sleeping but couldn't :( my fiance had me go up and down stairs lol so later that nigtth I couldn't anymore I went back and got checked again I was 1cm still not effaced and was just in early labor so they offered morphine again and I took it because the pain was so bad . The shot though sucked made me cry. I went home again !!!!
Avatar f tn I wish I had opted for the morphine first because my daughter was born less than an hour after getting the epidural and the back pain I have had for 4 years is not worth the temporary relief I got during labor and delivery. I am going to do the IV pain medication this time and stay strong to not ask for the epidural. It isn't worth the risk of permanent back pain.
